In the QS World University Rankings 2014 PFUR is again in the World Top-500. In 2014, PFUR was listed among 471-480, which is 20 positions higher than in 2013. Only 10 out of 1,100 Russian Universities are in Top-500 and among which PFUR comes the 7th.

The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities ranks PFUR 20th among Russian Universities. According to Berlin principles of ranging higher education institutions there are more than 20,000 universities functioning around the world today. At the moment Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is ranked 20th among the universities in Russia and 1, 835th among the universities in the world.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia has preserved its positions in the National rating of universities 2013/2014 being ranked 5th among Russian universities and 1st in the level of the development of international activity (internationalization).

QS World University Rankings 2014: PFUR is in Top-100 of more than 7,000 universities of BRICS states: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South African Republic. It’s not the first year that Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is listed in Top-100 universities of BRICS steadily improving its position year after year.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is ranked 5th by “Interfax” rating among universities of EAEC countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan) and 7th among universities of Georgia, CIS and Baltic countries.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is listed in UI Green Metric World University Ranking- a ‘green’ rating of world universities published by the Universitas Indonesia (UI).Only 8 Russian universities were ranked in the list. PFUR was ranked 145th among 300 universities from 61 countries and 4 Russian universities. Being included in the ‘green’ list is one more goal achieved by PFUR in fulfilling its mission.

PFUR is ranked 2nd in the number of patents for the period of 2002-2012 following State corporation «Rosatom». The ranking was reported by Tomson&Reuters agency in 2014, which gave a complete index-analysis of countries- members of G-20 in the field of scientific research, innovation and intellectual property (The Research and Innovation Performance of the G20).

PFUR has become the 1st Russian university which became a member of European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP) on the initiative of the Department of Pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry of the Medical Institute. Today PFUR is the only university in the Russian Federation which holds membership in EAFP.

The PFUR students held a round table «Tolerance and Cultural Diversity» at the A.P.Chekhov’s Education Center №170. The event was attended by students of the 10th grade. The round table was held by undergraduates from Syria, Egypt, Indonesia and Russia. The event was organized by E. V. Kryazheva-Kartseva, Vice Dean for Informatization of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences.

Mr. Lamek Ntekela, the Ambassador of the Republic of Botswana in the Russian Federation, paid a visit at PFUR. Earlier, Mr. L. Ntekela worked in the department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Botswana. He also was the CEO of the Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority and its regional representative in the European Union. The ambassador was received by V. M. Filippov, PFUR rector and member of the Russian Academy of Education. During their talks, the sides discussed the possibility of signing an agreement on inter-university cooperation between PFUR and the University of Botswana.

At the premises of the Faculty of Ecology an International Christmas Contest “The Future of Russia” took place. The tournament was based on the results of 2013 which had been declared by the President of the Russian Federation as a year of ecology. At the contest were presented the ecological projects of students from Moscow, other cities of Russia and from Slovakia. The Contest was organized by the Department of Ecological Monitoring and Forecasting.

The PFUR Agrarian Faculty became a set of a documentary made by Russian Agency of International Information “RIA Novosti”. The main theme of the documentary “Technology of cultivation of amaranth”. The main participants from the Faculty were Murat Gins, Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, professor of the department of genetics, selection and plant growing and Doctor of Biological sciences, as well as Elena Romanova, Vice Dean of the Agrarian Faculty for educational work, associate professor of the Department of genetics, selection and plant growing and PhD holder in Agricultural sciences.

The Luzhniki Small Sports Arena hosted a friendly ice hockey match between student teams of SU HSE and PFUR. The teams had already met during the opening match of MSHL which ended with the win of the PFUR team. The friendly match finished with the score 3:3.

XIV All-Russian Conference “Comparative law and problems of private law regulations in Russia and foreign countries” was held. The conference featured more than 50 papers in the field of Russian and foreign civil law and civil procedural law, international commercial arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. The conference was attended by professors, undergraduate and post-graduate students of PFUR, Sochi State University and Moscow Witte University.

The conference was organized by the PFUR Department of Civil and Labor Law.

The PFUR Interclub disco hall hosted a traditional annual festival of student youth «Tatyana Day.» This year’s festival was held in the form of a theme party “Dandies in the City”, which included an entertaining concert program with songs, dances, competitions, quizzes and prizes.

The PFUR Faculty of Law hosted an annual Interuniversity Science Conference “Contemporary problems of administrative, informational and financial law in Russia and abroad”. This year the conference was devoted to the contemporary problems of administrative, financial and informational law in Russia and abroad.

Born on January 1, 1949. Graduated from Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University, with major in Engineering construction. Ph.D. in technical sciences, assistant professor. Honorary worker of the Higher professional education of Russian Federation, member-correspondent of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. Currently he holds the position of the Dean of the Engineering Faculty and the Head of the Department of hydraulic engineering and hydrotechnical constructions. Scientific interests: hydraulic engineering - hydraulic fluid-jet stream, river hydraulics.The author of 54 published articles, 3 manuals. Desk book: M.U. MikheevaNatalia Fedorovna

Born on January 2, 1954, in Leningrad. Graduated Minsk State Pedagogical Institute for Foreign Languages. Currently she holds the position of the Head of the Department of Foreign languages, Philological Faculty, PFUR.Doctor of philological sciences, professor, academician of IAS HE, academician of the International Academy of Natural History, member-correspondent of RANH, holds the degree of the ‘Founder of the scientific school’. She received a great number of awards and acknowledgements, among which there is a gold medal for ‘European Quality’, award for ‘Merits in education’, acknowledgements from the Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation. Scientific interests: inter-variant dialectology, dialectology of Romance and Germanic languages, contact linguistics, modern methods of teaching foreign languages. She is the author of more than 210 published works (including 6 monographs, 4 dictionaries, 10 manuals, 186 articles and reports). Under her supervision 20 Ph.D. degree holders in philological and pedagogical sciences, 1 Dr. degree holder in pedagogy defended their dissertations. Life motto: ‘Only the brave make the seas obey’. Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia held an Open Day. The event was attended by many enrollees and their parents. In the meeting with enrollees participated Vice-Rector for Public Relations Elena Martynenko, chairman of the selection committee Roman Linko, Director of the Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» Irina Barysheva and Director of the Medical School of Biology «Medic» Yevgeny Demurov.

Football Club “Megasphera” hosted the quarterfinal games of the winter tournament on mini-football ASSAFSTU-PFUR, which revealed the semifinalists. They were the teams of Guinea, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Mali.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted at the premises of the Department of Foreign Languages an Interuniversity scientific-practical conference “English language in university: modern trends in teaching methods”. Participants of the conference discussed the current trends in teaching foreign languages and online technologies in teaching English in higher school.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia held an expert meeting on the problems of coordination of organizational and substantive aspects of a comprehensive exam on the Russian language, Russian history and basics of the Russian law for migrant workers. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Russian Federal Migration Service, Ministry of Education and Science as well as by the members of the test consortium.

In the framework of the XXII International Christmas Educational Readings and the conference «St. Sergius Lavra and traditions of religious education in the Russian Orthodox Church» Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia held a session «Spiritual and moral culture in higher education».The session was organized by PFUR and Education Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church.Chairpersons

Students of the Agrarian Faculty watched and discussed an ecological documentary “Home” in the frame of the eco cinema-club.

The PFUR Museum of history held a memorial evening of Patrice Lumumba, the 1st Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo. During the evening the videos telling about his life were presented. Among the participants of the event were the employees of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo, professors, university teachers and students of the fraternities of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

At the Agrarian Faculty representatives of the Federal Agency on State Support of insurance in agrarian industry and the Agrarian Faculty on key issues of agrarian expertise.

Students of the PFUR Institute of Foreign Languages participated in a linguistic and cultural Internship Program organized by Istitutio Italiano (Florence, Italy). During the internship the PFUR delegation visited linguistic and cultural tours in Florence, Milan, Siena and Padua.

PFUR students and members of the Association of young studiers of German Language went on a linguistic and cultural trip to Germany and Austria. They visited Munich, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Nuremberg, Schwendau and Innsbruck.

IWEB students took part in the work of the on-site School of Economics at «Brazil in BRICS» in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The main objective was to study the consumer market of Brazil and its industrial and ecological potential.

The Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters established on the 80th anniversary of the Civil Defense a medal «Marshal Vasily Chuikov» which is awarded to employees of departments and persons with special merits in the field of civil defense.At the PFUR Academic Board the medal «Marshal Vasily Chuikov» for many years of impeccable service to the cause of civil defense, improving management, communication and alarm for civil defense forces, was awarded to Yuri Fominykh, Head of PFUR Fire Prevention Department, and Vadim Plyuschikov, Dean of the Agrarian Faculty and Doctor of agricultural sciences. The medal was awarded by Vladimir Avdotin, Head of the Department of FSI All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies of Russia (Federal Centre for Science and High Technology) of EMERCOM, colonel and PhD in Technical Sciences.

Aleksandr Skubachevskiy, chaired professor in differential equations and mathematical physics received a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for State Support of Leading Scientific Schools for the work «Linear and nonlinear boundary value problems for differential and functional differential equations».

PFUR Sports Center hosted competitions on mini-football and badminton, in which Vietnamese students from Moscow universities took part. At the opening ceremony was the first counselor of the Ambassador of Vietnam to Russia.

Football Club “Megasphera” hosted the competition on mini-football among 4 teams of Nigerian students of PFUR.

PFUR rector V. Filippov met A. Iksanov, new Executive Director of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation. During the meeting they noted the results of the CIS Network University, discussed further cooperation and development of CIS NU.

Winter session of the Association of international students in Russia took place. AIS in Russia is a non-governmental organization representing more than 200 thousand foreign citizens from 160 countries of the world studying in the educational institutions of the Russian Federation. During the plenary session the delegates heard the speeches of the members of the Board of Trustees of the AIS Russia, as well as of the representatives of MES of Russia, MFA of Russia, Rossotrudnichestvo, INCORVUZ, FMS and other organizations that interact with foreign students. During the event the participants discussed important problems of foreign students in Russia: learning and living conditions, insurance, immigration law, employment opportunities.

PFUR rector V. Filippov received a delegation of Alfonso X the Wise university (Madrid, Spain). On the part of the Spanish delegation the event was attended by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Dr.Iris Nenez-Trebol and the Senior official for Public Relations Mr.Alfredo Urdaci.Also the meeting was attended by the Attaché for the questions of Education of the Embassy of Spain in Russia

Dr. Tatiana Drozdov Diez. During the meeting, an agreement on cooperation for the development of such joint priority areas as engineering and medical sciences, tourism and linguistics was reached. Particular attention was paid to the development of joint educational programs, as well as strengthening academic mobility of students and faculty members . At the end of the meeting the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia celebrates its 54th Anniversary. More than 1,000 guests came to congratulate PFUR. In the hall representatives of about 100 countries, graduates of different decades, professionals of many areas were gathered.In his welcoming speech PFUR Rector V. Filippov said that PFUR had reached good results in the past year, including not only the success of our students and professors in the scientific and professional field, not only career steps of our graduates, but also strengthening the position of Peoples’ Friendship University in international rankings. Thus, in Russia PFUR took 4-6 places in the ranking of the countries of the CIS, 7th in the ranking of Baltic States and Georgia, and was featured as well in the TOP-500 world university ranking.

Illustrious PFUR graduates congratulated their alma mater and shared fond memories of their student life.At the end of the official part V. Filippov invited all PFUR friends to the 55th Anniversary of the University which will be held in a year, at the State Kremlin Palace.

PFUR delegation headed by Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs Prof. N. Kirabaev visited Germany to participate in the Russian-German ceremonies to mark the opening of the «House of Lomonosov» in Freiberg.

PFUR held the Culture Week of students from Cameroon (Cameroon Youth Week). In the frame of Culture Week the University organized National fraternities exhibition, the conference «Economic Cooperation of Cameroon and Russia at the Present Stage», the evening concert and the tournament on mini–football.

The results of the poetry contest under the slogan «My Peoples’ Friendship University» were summed up. The winner was the second year student year of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Ksenia Koshman.

PFUR IFL held a presentation “International activity in innovation HEI (by the example of IFL)” in the frame of the Diplomat’s Day. Representatives of diplomatic missions of Argentina, Venezuela, Columbia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay visited IFL on this occasion and congratulated Director N.Sokolova and the students.

PFUR held the Winter academy on human rights, organized within the project on implementation of the interuniversity master program «International Protection of Human Rights» by Consortium of higher education institutions (PFUR, MGIMO the MFA of Russia, RSUH, KPFU, and PSU) with the support of Management of the High Commissioner of the UN on human rights.The winter academy on human rights is urged to strengthen the partner relations between the Russian higher education institutions members of Consortium in the field of implementation of the joint master program on human rights.

The Department of Management and Economics of Pharmacy held a Student Scientific Conference «The role and place of professional associations to improve the management of pharmaceutical activity» which became a huge success. Students and professors of the Faculty of Medicine of PFUR participated in the work of the conference.

A solemn event dedicated to Russian Diplomatic Worker’s Day was held. The «Graduates of PFUR in diplomatic service» round table event which took place at the Rector’s Hall brought together more than 60 graduates of PFUR (who work now as Russian and foreign diplomats), as well as professors of international relations studies.

Department of Management and Economics of Pharmacy of the Medical Faculty organized an all-Russia conference with international participation on the topic «Problems of continuity of educational and professional standards in pharmacy». The conference was attended by professors and teachers of medical and pharmaceutical universities from 15 regions of Russia, as well as from the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan, by representatives of domestic manufacturers of innovative medicines and non-profit partnership for promotion of the pharmacy industry development «Pharmacy Guild».

Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» organized an event as part of the «University Saturdays» project developed by the Department of Education of Moscow. School students visited 7 faculties of PFUR and attended lectures and seminars held by PFUR professors.

The 1/8 finals games of the KVN of PFUR took place. The main topic of the games was “Autumn”. The winner of the 1st day was the KVN team of the Faculty of Economics «Baghdad». The winner of the 2nd day was the KVN team of the Faculty of Law «Imperia».

Hall 1 of the main building of PFUR hosted an interuniversity scientific and practical conference “Problems of patriotic education of students” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege.

Soloists of Interclub of PFUR participated in the regional festival of patriotic song «Carnation». The winners – a quartet (Shounak Mukherjee, Nathan Massena, Artur Corella, Bkhavdip Bkharadava), a duet (Diana Dzyuba and Amin Makarov) and the soloist of Preobrazheniye studio Olga Gorskaya – are invited to participate in the final concert.

PFUR IFL holds the Open Day «Live and Learn» providing individual consultations for potential entrants to Bachelor’s and Master’s programs “Linguistics”, “European Studies”, “Psychologo-pedagogic education” and Master’s programs in English “Theory of communication and international PR” and “European Studies”.

The Hall of the main building of PFUR hosted national exhibitions of student fraternities of Iraq, Libya and Palestine. The main building also hosted an exhibition of the student fraternity of Lithuania dedicated to the Day of Independence of the Republic of Lithuania.

The Faculty of Ecology held at the premises of the laboratories “Ecological psychology” and “Ecological Medicine” the “Profession Day” for school students of Moscow and Moscow Region. The event was attended by students from Moscow schools and a team from Podolsk.

The final round for the winners of the university intellectual tournament “What? Where? When?” took place.

Born on February 22, 1954, in Magadan. Graduated from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Doctor of technical sciences, professor. Scientific interests: Modern computational methods andalgorithms for solving mana-gement tasks. The author of new computational method aimed at solving the tasks of symbolic regression, including solving the tasks of synthesis of optimal management- a method of network operator. Diveev A.I. is the author of more than 240 scientific works published, including 4 monographs, 100 articles, 5 works indexed within Web of science, 22 works indexed within Scopus. In Yaroslavl the All-Russian club tournament of the Association of sports clubs for students in Russia took place. 25 student sports teams with the total of 250 people came to Yaroslavl to participate in these competitions, among them – the team of the PFUR sports club “Druzhba”. According to the results of the All-Russian club tournament the athletes of the PFUR club “Druzhba” successfully won gold pins in track and field and silver pins in swimming.

Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» and representatives of more than 6 faculties of PFUR participated in the Moscow Career Day. The event took place in Sokolniki Exhibition Center and gathered about 6,000 visitors.

Delegation of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences which included V. Tsvyk, Dean of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, L. Ponomarenko, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, and G. Lukyanova, Head of the foreign languages department, paid an official visit to Jordan University. As a result of the meeting a new agreement on 2014 Summer language school for FHSS students studying Arabic was signed.

The University held culture days of students from the Dominican Republic. In the frame of culture days national exhibitions of fraternities took place, films were shown and the evening concert and disco in the Interclub of PFUR were organized.

The PFUR Museum held a round table dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege. The round table was attended by professors, staff and students of PFUR. The round table was opened by Y. Lomko, participant of the Great Patriotic War and professor of the Mass Communication Department of Philological Faculty.

Different buildings of PFUR held several national exhibitions of student associations from Karachai-Cherkess, student fraternity from Yemen and student fraternity from Tajikistan.

Rector of PFUR V. Filippov met with the Rwanda Ambassador to Russia Mudzhvamariya Jeanne d’Arc. During the meeting they discussed the issues of cooperation between the University and the Embassy of Rwanda in the Russian Federation.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in Moscow awarded Prof. Natalia Mikheeva, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Philological Faculty of PFUR, member of International Academy of Sciences of Higher School and Doctor of Philological Sciences, with a certificate and a badge of a participant of the Internet encyclopedia «Famous scientists».

PFUR delegation which included N. Kirabaev, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, and O. Ochirova, Director of PFUR Center for strategic research of the Asian-Pacific region, visited the Faculty of Philosophy of Tsinghua University which is considered the best technical university of China. ACAR Commission on HR and Vocational Education made a sectoral research named «Ranking of departments of the Russian universities that train specialists in the field of advertising». According to the ranking the PFUR IWEB Department of advertising and business communications won an honorable 2nd place.

Professor V. Vorobyov, Doctor of philological sciences, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Honorary Worker of Higher Education became the Laureate of state prize in education. The prize is awarded for the educational project «Linguocultural concept of teaching Russian language in the multi-ethnic society: methodology, methodological system, technologies of introduction».

Press service of the City center for professional and career development made a list of the top 10 students. As specified, the best of the best were chosen among the scholarship holders of the Moscow government. The winner from PFUR became Alexey Tsarev, a 2nd year student of the Department of Information Technology of the Faculty of Science.

XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games successfully took place in Sochi. PFUR was represented at the Olympics by over 30 volunteer students from all faculties and institutes, and more than 100 students did an internship. PFUR volunteers worked at all sites and in all directions, including support of delegations of athletes, the opening and closing ceremonies at Fischt stadium, comprehensive administrative work for competition in cross country skiing and biathlon «Laura», health care and much more.

Following the Order of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitri Medvedev №229-r dated 20.02.2014 Vladimir Filippov is appointed as a plenipotentiary representative of the Russian Federation at the Council on Cooperation in Education of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

K.Romanov, graduate ‘2005 of the Faculty of Ecology is awarded with the badge “For achievements in nature protection”.

The team of the student research club of the Department of Operative Surgery and Clinical Anatomy entered the finals of the XXIII All-Russia student Olympics on surgery n.a. academician M.Perelman to be held in April 2014 in Budapest (Hungary). The team of talented students will be prepared by professors of the Department of Operative Surgery and Clinical Anatomy of PFUR Medical Faculty.

39th international exhibition «Education and Career - XXI Century» took place, and representative of various faculties and institutes of PFUR, as well as staff of the Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» actively participated in it, the latter offering full-time and distance training for SFE and USE and creativity competitions.

Students of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Studies of PFUR helped to organize and hold the festival of Maslenitsa at the Education Center №170. In the competition program participated not only the children, but also their parents.

A new period of the realization of program “Reproductive health of the students” that includes interactive educational technologies started. More that 400 of first year students (in the field of medical business) with their professors expressed their opinions on the questions of health life-style and risk factors for the reproductive health. Any student could ask a question that interested him and get help on the feedback channel with the department. The results of the non-stop monitoring of students’ answers will become a base for the development of the events that improves students’ health.

PFUR held national fraternities exhibitions of students from Bulgaria and Moldova.

PFUR participated in the international conference «Combatting radicalization of public sentiment that fuels terrorism». The conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Russian presidency in G8. It was attended by representatives of key international organizations (UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, SCO) and Russian public authorities, heads of traditional religions, leading experts, public figures and representatives of academia as well.Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia submitted a paper at the 2nd session of the conference dedicated to the role of educational and scientific institutions in the context of combatting radicalization of public sentiment that fuels terrorism.During the discussions O. Andreeva, Vice-rector for international relations, and Aslan Abashidze, Head of the Department of International Law of PFUR, expressed their opinions on the matter in question.

PFUR IFL hosted the final tour of the student contest “You’re simply the best”. The contest was timed to coincide with International Women’s Day on March 8. The winners of the contest «You’re simply the best» were students Evgenia Smirnova, Egor Gusak, Natalia Safianova and Taisia Larkina.

The combined PFUR KVN team successfully performed at the eighth finals of KVN Major League in the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army and proceeded to the quarterfinals.

PFUR held national fraternity exhibition of students from Ukraine devoted to the 200th anniversary of the great Ukrainian writer and poet Taras Shevchenko. Shevchenko’s books, booklets, prospectuses and other attributes of culture of the people of Ukraine were shown at the exhibition.

Chess tournament took place in the frame of the 52nd University Olympics.

More than 150 people donated blood during the PFUR Donor’s Day, which is regularly held at the University.

PFUR hosted Days of Culture of Cuban students featuring national exhibitions of the fraternity.

The representative office of Rossotrudnuchestvo in Malta held a recital of Galina Trofimova, professor of the Department of the Mass Communication Department of Philological Faculty, Honorary worker of culture of the RF and soloist of the A. P. Borodin Symphony Orchestra. Guests of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Valletta were presented with a musical and literary program, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of M. Lermontov.

At the premises of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law of the Faculty of Law PFUR hosted III All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Interaction between the state and society: new trends”. 70 guests attended this event, including representatives of the regions of the Russian Federation: Kaluga region, Orel region, Khabarovsk Krai, the Republic of Tuva, Kabardino-Balkaria, the Chelyabinsk region, Vologda region, Vladimir region, and Moscow region.

PFUR hosted a regional tour of design and research projects of school students involved in the «Fair of Ideas in the Southwest». A.Petryaeva, PFUR SSC Chairman and Agrarian Faculty SSC Chairman, was the expert at this contest.

PFUR held the XV Culture Week of students from the Middle East countries (XV Arabic Culture Week). As part of the Culture Week different buildings of PFUR hosted national fraternities exhibitions of students from Yemen, Jordan, Sudan, Lebanon and Syria, as well as photo-exhibition, mini-football tournament, the exhibition of Arab literature and a conference “Arab literature as seen by the Arabists”. Mr Jalal Almashta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the League of Arab States to the Russian Federation, as well as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and the staff of diplomatic missions of 11 countries of the Middle East, were invited to the official opening ceremony. XV Week of Arab Culture ended with a solemn concert.

At the solemn meeting of the Academic Board of PFUR a ceremony of granting the Diploma of PFUR Doctor Honoris Causa to professor Willi Jäger, Director of the Centre for scientific calculations of Heidelberg University took place.After the ceremony Prof. Jäger met V. Tsvyk, Dean of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, and delivered a lecture «Synergy of Methods – Mathematical and Computational Tools for Cultural Sciences» (in English).

PFUR SEC “Nanotechnologies” participated in the 2014 Global Entrepreneurship Congress. The Congress gathered in Moscow over 5,000 participants from 156 countries.

The second round of the PFUR championship in basketball among departments started in the frame of the 52nd University Olympics.

Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mr. Ziad Al Majali.

PFUR hosted VI international scientific and practical conference “Topical problems of modern linguistics and humanities”. The international scientific meeting was organized by PFUR IFL and Catholiс University of Lille (France).

As part of the project “Famous travelers of the world” of the PFUR Tourist club students, professors and graduates met with a famous traveler Vladimir Goltis Vuksta, leader of the team of travellers “Equites”.

The final event of Youth competition for the best enterprise initiative «Moscow youth start – 2014» (Spring final) took place. The competition is accredited according to “UMNIK” program of the Foundation of assistance to small forms of enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere.The winners of the competition will get grants from the Foundation of assistance to small forms of enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere to bring their projects to life.Also as part of the final event 12 projects got another year of financing under the “UMNIK” program.

PFUR FRLaGED assembly hall held a Cultural evening of the student fraternities of Iran dedicated to the Iranian New Year celebrations. The event was attended by Iranian students from PFUR and other Moscow universities as well as PFUR students from other countries.

PFUR held a national exhibition of the student fraternity of Bangladesh. The exhibition was dedicated to the “Independence Day” and featured folk art, souvenirs, ornaments, symbols, books, booklets, and other attributes of the culture of the people of Bangladesh.

PFUR Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences held a solemn event dedicated to the International Day of Historian.

With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Organization «Federal Agency for State Support of Insurance in the field of agricultural production» and Russian Peoples’ Friendship University held the II Conference «Independent expertise in agricultural insurance: development prospects».

PFUR SEC “Nanotechnologies” participated in the forum “Nanotechnology” held in conjunction with the network association NanoBRIDGE and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF).

At the clinical premises of the PFUR Department of hospital treatment the State Clinical Hospital №52 held the III Russian Scientific-Practical Conference «Clinical and laboratory aspects of modern hematology». This event is held twice a year. The conference main topic is «Anemia. Modern methods of diagnostic s and treatment».

The PFUR main building hall held a student contest “Miss PFUR 2014”. We congratulate Stefania Andrianova on her victory in «Miss PFUR- 2014» and «Miss Ovation» (Audience Award)! The title holder «Vice-Miss PFUR– 2014» became the representative of Mongolia Bayaraa Undraa.

PFUR hosted Days of Culture of students from Jamaica featuring national exhibitions of the fraternity.

The Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» held a number of career guidance tours for trainees and students of secondary schools of Moscow and Moscow Region. Rector of the Peoples’ Friendship University Vladimir Filippov is awarded a diploma of the President of the Russian Federation for labor success, many years of hard work and legislative activity.

Following the Order of the President of the Russian Federation Valentin Marilov, Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology, received a citation of the President of the Russian Federation for labor achievements and many years of fruitful work.

In Moscow semi-finals of the International student contest “ISOVER Multi-comfort Home Design” (SAINT-GOBAIN ISOVER, France) took place. D.Simo, 1st-year master’s student and I.Zhigulenko, 2nd-year master’s student got in the final of the contest.

Vitaly Bezbakh, Doctor of Law, professor of the Department of Civil and Labor Law of the PFUR Faculty of Law is awarded a title of Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation.

Following the invitation from the PFUR Tourist Club a famous Russian businessman and philanthropist, Chairman of the Society of Ancient Literature Lovers Herman Sterligov visited PFUR. Mr.Sterligov donated to the PFUR Scientific Library 36 volumes of a unique facsimile edition of Illuminated Compiled Chronicle of Ivan the Terrible (XVI century).

Soloists of the folk studio «Raduga» took part in the Moscow festival of student creativity «Festos 2014» in the category «Folk Academy».

International Centre for Environmental Education, founded at the premises of the PFUR Faculty of Ecology in cooperation with non-governmental environmental Vernadsky fund, participated in the International scientific conference «Russian-German dialogue on sustainable development». The conference was held at the German Research Center of the Earth in Potsdam (Germany), which is part of the Helmholtz association of research centers.

Soloists of the studios “Preobrazhenie” and «Raduga» took part in the 1st round of the Moscow festival of student creativity «Festos 2014» in the nomination «Pop Song».

Novosibirsk hosted the second all-Russia research and practice seminar “The Reproductive potential of Russia: Siberian readings”. Peoples` friendship university of Russia was the co-organizer of this seminar, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk region, the Priority national project «Education» and other top level organizations. The total number of participants was more

than 1,200. V. Radzinsky, Honored Scientist of Russia, Doctor of Medical sciences, professor, Head of PFUR Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology, vice-president of the Russian Association of obstetrician-gynecologists (Moscow) took part in the seminar as the representative of Peoples` friendship university of Russia.

Delegation of Peoples’ friendship university medical students traveled to Hungary (Semmelweis University) to participate in the International Scientific Conference «Semmelweis International Students’ Conference 2014». Reports and demonstration of manual skills of our students received high marks and were awarded prizes.

Peoples’ friendship university of Russia held an Open Day. Traditionally the event was attended by many enrollees and their parents. Before the speech of the members of the Presidium the guests of the event saw a documentary about the University. At the meeting with enrollees participated Vice-Rector for Public Relations Elena Martynenko, chairman of the selection committee Roman Linko, Director of the Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» Irina Barysheva and Director of the Life Sciences School «Medic» Yevgeny Demurov.

The PFUR Sports Center gym hosted the mini-football finals in the frame of the 52nd University Olympics. In the game for the 3rd place team of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences won over the team of the Faculty of Law with a score of 2:1, and in the final the Faculty of Engineering team won over the Faculty of Science team with a score of 5:2.

PFUR held the national exhibition of Armenian students dedicated to Mother’s Day which is annually celebrated in Armenia and symbolizes the Woman, Mother, beauty and spring.

The University held the XIV festival of students from the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. The festival featured the final of mini-football championship which was held in the Sports Center of PFUR, photo exhibition, the conference devoted to «Dictatorship and Civil Resistance in the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean», national exhibitions of student associations, an interactive game «Fall

in love with America» and a concert «We are Latin America and the Caribbean».

The student contest «Mr. Agrarian Faculty - 2014» was held. Along with the traditional contest «Miss Agricultural Faculty,» student competition, «Mr. Agrarian Faculty» is very popular among students. Brian Basson Bessil, a third year student of «Veterinary science» from Namibia won the competition.

The Ecological Faculty of PFUR held its annual scientific-practical conference «Topical problems of ecology and environmental management». The students, graduate students and scientists from Russia, China, Moldova and Kazakhstan were actively involved in the conference. The participants discussed current scientific and practical problems in the field of ecology, environment and environmental management.

María Luisa Ramos Urzagaste, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bolivia to Russia and Jenny Mandesairu Tapia Lopez, Second Secretary of the Embassy, visited PFUR IFL. The guests participated in the meeting dedicated to the Year of Plurinational State of Bolivia in PFUR IFL.

Department of Normal Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine held a joint meeting of the student scientific circle and philosophical seminar on «Human Reproduction Problems».

PFUR held the national exhibition of the student fraternity from Azerbaijan to mark the 22th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Dr. Riad Haddad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic, visited PFUR and met professor V. Filippov, PFUR Rector. PFUR Interclub held a meeting of Dr. Riad Haddad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic, and PFUR students from Syria. The meeting marked the Syria National Day.

PFUR Interclub hosted a concert of the student fraternity from Nepal, dedicated to the celebration of the Nepali New Year. The evening was attended by Nepalese students from PFUR and other Moscow universities, as well as by PFUR students from other countries.

PFUR held culture days of students from the Republic of Turkey. In the frame of culture days national exhibitions of fraternities took place.

The PFUR main building assembly hall hosted a concert dedicated to the 18th anniversary of the 1st KVN game which marked the beginning of the KVN movement in PFUR.

National theoretical and practical conference “Russian journalism: new vectors of development” was held at the Department of theory and history of journalism of the Philological faculty. The conference was attended by Dmitri Kiselev, General Director of the Russian International News Agency «Russia Today», Deputy General Director of VGTRK and a TV broadcaster.

Fraternity of the Iranian students with the assistance of a cultural department of the Iranian Embassy in Russia held a cultural and art exhibition «Culture Day of Iran at PFUR». A. Gladush, PFUR Vice-Rector, and Mr. Mehdi Sanaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, delivered their speeches at the official opening ceremony.

The Interclub assembly hall hosted a festival «Songs and dances of the peoples of the world», dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Peoples’ Friendship University. Student fraternities impressed the audience and the jury by their creativity, performing folk songs and dances.

The Department of Social and Differential Psychology of the Faculty of Philology of PFUR held VII International scientific-practical conference «Higher school: experience, problems and prospects». Foreign participants included representatives from CIS and foreign countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, China, Nigeria, Moldova, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan).

PFUR Faculty of Economics held VI All-Russian research and practice conference “Modern economic theory and Russian economic reforming” devoted to V. Stanis’ anniversary. The scientific event cofounder is the Association of French macroeconomists CEMAFI-internationale.

VI International Scientific and Practical Conference «Current problems of linguistics and didactics of foreign language in business and professional communication» was held at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Economics with the assistance of the British Council, Instituto de Cervantes, Goethe Cultural Center, University of Westminster (UK), Instituto Dante Alighieri (Italy) and other co-organizers of the world level.

PFUR hosted another tour of the “Fair of Ideas in the Southwest” for school students of 5-11 grades. As a result of this stage 2014, 298 projects were selected from more than a thousand school projects in the humanities, natural sciences, social, technological and informational disciplines which had been assessed by the jury that included experts in the areas of knowledge that matched the project subjects.

PFUR Interclub held a concert of the student fraternity from Bangladesh dedicated to the celebration of Bengali New Year.

The Foreign Minister of Mozambique, Mr.Oldemiru Zhiliu Marquez Bala, visited PFUR. The visit was initiated by the Mozambican side in the frame of his working visit to Russia. Mr.Oldemiru Zhiliu Marquez Bala was received by the Vice-Rector for International Relations O.Andreeva.

PFUR held XVIII Week of culture of African countries featuring national fraternities exhibitions, a conference «Africa: terms of modern development», the meeting of African cinema club, concert in the main building assembly hall and the mini-football final championship of students from Africa in PFUR Sports Club «Megasphera».

The Department of foreign languages of the Philological Faculty of PFUR in association with the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the Academy of Professional Development and Re-training of Educators, held an International research and practice conference “I Firsova’s readings. Present cross-cultural communication problems” dedicated to professor Natalya Firsova, leading Russian hispanist, academician of the International Higher Education Academy of Sciences and Doctor of Philological Sciences.

PFUR held an exhibition of the student association of Georgia.

PFUR Faculty of Medicine held for the first time an International scientific and practical conference «Quality of life, health psychology and education: a multidisciplinary approach». Among other co-organizers of the conference were the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Institute of trace elements of UNESCO and other famous universities and organizations.

PFUR team took part in the University Olympic Games of the Union State, which took place in Pinsk, Belarus.

PFUR international KVN team participated in the television recording of the quarterfinals of the “KVN. Major League”. According to the results of the game, PFUR team passed to the semifinals.

PFUR held a successful gala concert of the international dancing ensemble “Rhythms of friendship”.

The PFUR main building assembly hall held a closing concert of the XX Folklore festival «Peoples of Russia».

Amateur groups of Interclub and PFUR fraternities took part in “Festos-2014” Moscow student art festival in different nominations- Folklore academy, Student song, Art reading, Dancing Non-Stop, and were invited to participate in the final gala concert to be held April 29.

Music festival “Music Planet – “I Love my Motherland” was held in the concert hall of PFUR. Student amateur group “Music Planet” and Galina Trofimova, mass media department professor prepared a real festival of classical music performed by the Symphony orchestra of A.Borodin, Yulia Guseva, Bris Fuako, Raymond Junior, Daniil Maksimkin and Airat Hannov (saxophone).

Days of Mexican culture were held in PFUR. The authentic exhibition of the Mexican student association was organized, as well as the display of Mexican films.

PFUR Sports Center stadium hosted annual cricket tournament “Rector’s Cup” held by the association of Asian students of PFUR. 6 student teams from Asian countries and 2 student teams from Latin America and the Caribbean participated in the tournament. The winners were the students from the team of India.

The annual international sports festival «7th Belgrade Sport Tournament» took place in a sports centre in Belgrade. The winners of the project of the Association of the student and youth sport Moscow Youth’s games including PFUR’s Rugby team represented Russia at these competitions. Among the rivals of our champions were the athletes from Libya, Cyprus, Croatia, Germany, Switzerland and Serbia. As a result of the competitions our Rugby combined team won a knock-down victory over the festival’s masters.

“Planet South-West” student festival was organized in PFUR (together with South-western administrative district of Moscow). The festival program featured national exhibitions of fraternities (80 exhibitions in total) and a concert program. More than 4,000 people (PFUR students, professors and staff, World War II veterans and school students of South-western district of Moscow, representatives of the diplomatic corps of foreign countries in the Russian Federation) participated

in the event. N. Kirabaev, Vice Rector of PFUR, V. Sheikin, Chairman of the Board of World War II veterans from South-western district of Moscow and Major General and O. Volkov, Prefect of the South-Western district of Moscow, delivered speeches at the official opening ceremony of the festival.

The winners of the VI Moscow Youth Patriotic Contest “Spring’ 45…” participated in the gala concert in the frame of the project «Victory Ball «At six o’clock in the evening ... «, which was held in the Hermitage Garden.

Sports Center stadium hosted the Football Championship of Africa in which 12 teams of student fraternities from African countries were to participate.

V. Filippov, Rector of PFUR, came on a working visit to Oman. This country held a global university UNESCO 2014 Forum «Education for all». The Russian delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and representatives of the Russian National Commission for UNESCO.More than 300 people from 50 countries participated in the forum, among them mostly delegations of the Ministries of Education and several global NGOs. V. Filippov was elected member of the Forum Project Team, which was engaged in the preparation of the final documents.

PFUR held the Culture Week of students from the Republic of India. In the frame of Culture Week the University organized the round table “Modern India. Problems and perspectives of development”, national fraternities exhibitions, the demonstration of an Indian movie, a concert in the assembly hall of PFUR Interclub and cricket tournament at the PFUR stadium.

The Faculty of Medicine held an Olympiad «Star of physiology». The Olympiad was held by professors of the Department of normal physiology.

The delegation of professors of Russian traveled to Estonia (Tallinn, Tartu) for B1 and B2 levels testing of citizens. Our test team along with their Estonian colleagues organized B2 level tests for students of Russian-speaking schools. The Exam was equated to USE.

PFUR held a national exhibition of the student association from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

The PFUR Faculty of Science held the 50th All-Russian Scientific Conference on the problems of dynamics, particle physics, plasma physics and optoelectronics. The conference was attended by about 100 scientists, including 10 foreign guests.

V. Filippov, Rector of PFUR, met PFUR alumni at the reception held in the Sultanate by Oman Envarbik Fazelyanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by PFUR graduates who are now doing business in Oman.

The University hosted a round table: «My family during the Great Patriotic War» dedicated to the 69th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Students listened to Y. Lomko, participant of the Great Patriotic War and professor of the Mass Communication Department of the Philological Faculty, and B.Borisov, Vice Chairman of the PFUR Council of Veterans and Veteran of the Armed Forces of the USSR.

PFUR graduate Maksim Altori received the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” I degree. Maxim is an international correspondent for the Russian multilingual informational television company Russia Today.

The Department of Normal Physiology of the Medical Faculty held an Interuniversity scientific and practical conference «Problems of preventive and regenerative medicine». The conference was attended by participants from various regions of Russia.

The PFUR main building assembly hall hosted the quarterfinals of KVN teams.

“MEFI-2014”, the XII annual festival of students` films took place in Peoples` friendship university of Russia under the slogan: “Live while you are young”.

The Department of theory and history of international relations of the PFUR Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences held a round table: «Pereyaslav Rada: from Ukraine and Russia reunion to the sovereign state». The need for a round table discussion dedicated to the analysis of the role and place of Ukraine in the modern world and the process of formation and evolution of its foreign policy is quite obvious.

The Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» held the entrance test for students from specialized classes of the “School of Contemporary Journalists” school №2030. The exam was attended by 9th grade students of secondary schools of Moscow. Students and their parents heard the speech of associate professor V. Matvienko, Deputy Head of the Department of Theory and History of Journalism.

Soloists of the folk studio «Raduga» participated in the XII International Folklore Festival «Moscow roundelay» dedicated to the year of culture.

PFUR held the III All-Russian scientific and practical conference «Socio-oriented management in the context of globalization», organized by the Department of Management of the PFUR Faculty of Economics. The conference was attended by 50 scientists from various cities of the CIS and abroad.

The first graduate of the Faculty of Engineering from Peru Zamalloa Rodolfo Lopez visited the University 50 years after the graduation.

The Faculty of Law welcomed a delegation from Finland represented by the Director of the Institute of prison and probation Hannu Kiehelä and senior lecturer of the Institute Arja Saunamäki. During the visit, the round table «Penitentiary and criminal policy of Russia and Finland», which addressed the issues of the education system in Finland and academic exchange between Finland and Russia, was held.

The University held culture days of students from Abkhazia. In the frame of culture days national exhibitions of fraternities, Tasty Festival and concert in PFUR Interclub took place.

Delegation of PFUR on behalf of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) organized several scientific and methodological activities for teachers and professors of the Russian language in France. Days of the Russian language took place in two French cities: Paris and Strasbourg.

In Ufa (Bashkortostan) the PFUR delegation headed by Vice-Rector for International Relations O. Andreeva took part in the VII Week of Education for the States members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization «Education without Borders».

PFUR main building assembly hall hosted a competition “Miss Philological faculty 2014”. The winner was the 1 year student Diana Levkovich (Belarus) majoring in PR.

The Interclub assembly hall held the concert of the folk studio “Raduga” – “Songs from around the world”.

The Ural State Economic University in Yekaterinburg hosted the V Eurasian Youth Economic Forum «Dialogue of Civilizations: Green Economy». The delegation of students of the Department of engineering business and enterprise management won a prize and got gold, silver and bronze medals.

PFUR held national exhibitions of the student associations from the Republic of North Ossetia, student fraternities from South Ossetia, and student association from Ingushetia.

PFUR opened its doors for its graduates. For over 50 years, the University has been forming the world’s elite. Among the PFUR graduates are State Duma deputies, politicians, managers of large enterprises, outstanding athletes and famous diplomats. The University is proud of its graduates.The University administration met with graduates who had accepted the invitation to visit their alma mater again. The Rector of PFUR Vladimir Filippov held a reception in the Rectorate hall of the main building. The main purpose of this event was to discuss the issues of interaction between alumni and the University, as well as to present the Peoples’ Friendship University Development Fund (endowment fund).

Interclub assembly hall hosted the concert of the Theatre of Oriental Dance «Amaren» - «Fairy Tale of the Orient».

At the Sports Center main stadium in the frame of the XXVI Moscow Student Games our football team met with the MIREA team. Our team won with the score 4-0.

“Holiday Inn Moscow Sokolniki” held the III Interdisciplinary Forum «Medicine of mammary gland». PFUR was one of the organizers of the forum, held under the auspices of the PFUR Information and Education Program (PNP «Education»).

PFUR Interclub held a gala evening concert of student fraternity from Jordan, dedicated to the national holiday «Independence Day» and «Day of the army». The concert was attended by Acting Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Russian Federation, Mr.Bashar al-Druze.

PFUR held a solemn award ceremony for the volunteers of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi. 22 volunteers who had been the official PFUR representatives at the Sochi Olympics were honored with the Citation of the Organizing Committee for their contribution to the organization and holding of the XXII Olympic Games of 2014 in Sochi, as well as with the

Citation of the Agency for the ceremony. The awards were handed to the students by Vice-Rector for Public Relations E. Martynenko and deans of the faculties of the volunteers. The photo of all the participants featured the Rector of PFUR Vladimir Filippov and Vice Rectors of the University.

At the Sports Center gym the Small World Cup «Rector Cup 2014» in volleyball started.

The conference hall of the Faculty of Economics hosted the IV International Conference “BRICS: development cooperation. Network cooperation between BRICS universities in training for the innovation economy”.

PFUR main building assembly hall held the International student festival “Let’s build friendship together”. It was a great opportunity to understand peoples’ friendship.

PFUR Interclub assembly hall hosted the anniversary concert of a pop vocal studio - «We are 10 years old!».

Employees of the Department of Experimental Physics were awarded MAIK «Nauka / Interperiodica» for the best publication in 2014.

The students had studied on a joint program of IHBiT and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University “State level tourism planning and development” and “Intercultural communications in tourism” joint program with Bryusov Yerevan State Linguistic University.

Francophone students from PFUR and MSLU competed in the first football match “Franco-football”, where PFUR team won the game.

The meeting of the Council of Deans of Faculties of Medicine from state universities of the Russian Ministry of education was held at PFUR. Among the participants were: Leonid Roshal (famous pediatric surgeon, DSc, chairman of the National Medical Chamber), Tatiana Semenova (Director of the Department of Medical Education and Personnel Policy in Health), Irina Mosicheva (Deputy Director of the Department of Public Policy in Higher education of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation) and other professionals in the healthcare field.

In the Assembly Hall of the Interclub PFUR A students gathered at a traditional meeting. At the end of the event the activists of the Student council of hostels were awarded honorary certificates and prizes.

Representatives of the Peoples’ Friendship University went for linguistic training to the Edinburgh Napier University (UK). Summer School participants not only increased the level of English proficiency, but also gained project work and presentation skills. All the program participants received internship certificates.

The delegation of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, headed by the Vice-President, President of the General Assembly and the Senate, Dr. Danilo Astori visited Peoples’ Friendship University. The meeting was held during the official visit of Vice-President of the Russian Federation at the invitation of the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation V. Matvienko. During his visit the parties discussed the expansion of cooperation in the field of culture and education and training of qualified personnel for the country.

PFUR IFL held an open day “Live and Learn” and presented programs of further training, retraining, advanced training of foreign languages “Lifelong Learning”.

At the main PFUR football stadium a football game between the national teams of Russia and Brazil was held. The event was timed to two significant events: the Day of Russia and World Cup 2014. Brazil’s national team defeated the team of Russia with a score (2: 0).

President of the University of Mohammed V prof. Wail Benjelloun (Morocco) visited PFUR. Mr. Wail Benjelloun was received by PFUR Rector prof.V.Filippov. In his welcoming speech the rector emphasized the importance of cooperation with the University of Mohammed V. Special attention was paid to such areas of cooperation as academic exchanges, joint research in the field of Arab studies, organization and conduction of joint annual scientific conferences alternately at the PFUR and at the University of Mohammed V on topical issues of Russian-Arab cooperation and others. The

meeting was concluded with the signing of the Work Agenda for cooperation for four years.

The II tournament on sports triathlon, dedicated to the Day of Russia was held at PFUR sport complex and included 100 meters jogging, pulling up on the bar and dips.

In the mountain resort «Rosa Hutor» (Krasnodar region) a summit «Role of mega-events in the sustainable development of tourism», organized by the World Tourism Organization in cooperation with the Federal Agency for Tourism was held.The summit was attended by more than 150 participants from 26 countries: tourism ministers, representatives of the tourism administrations of the Russian regions, tourist and information centers, among them Svetlana Dikhtyar, Director of the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism of PFUR, Vice-President of the International Association AMFORHT for Russia and countries of Eastern Europe.

The Institute of Hospitality and Tourism held a traditional conference «Current problems and prospects of development of the hospitality industry» in English. IV and V-th year students summed up their four-year training program «Translator in professional communications».

A meeting of the Coordination Council on the establishment of the National Rectors’ Board for BRICS Network University was held.The conference was chaired by Rector Vladimir Filippov. At the meeting participants voiced positive opinions and evaluations of BRICS network university, set goals and defined the concept and purpose of NU BRICS and also presented the whole organization of educational process at

the university, including the disciplines and mandatory internships.

PFUR IFL received Julius Amaniel Mdzhemah, the Chargé d’affaires of the United Republic of Tanzania in Russia. Mr. Mdzhemah participated in the ceremonial meeting of the Academic Council dedicated to the XV graduation ceremony of the Institute, which was held in the Assembly hall in the PFUR main building.

At PFUR young researchers from the Czech Republic held a meeting with Vice-Rector for International Relations Andreeva O.V. and representatives of the Faculty of Philology. During the meeting they discussed issues of cooperation in the field of Russian language teaching, academic and student exchange.

On the basis of the Faculty of Law of the Peoples’ Friendship University Summer School on Human Rights was held. As part of the Summer School for the first time in Russia the contest in the English language «Model of the European Court of Human Rights» was held. In the competition teams from PFUR, MGIMO (University) of the MFA of Russia, Russian State Humanitarian University, KFU and PSU took part.

Graduates- 2014 went on Moscow River boat excursions. Such excursions have become a trademark and tradition of the University.

Peoples’ Friendship University received our 1971 graduate from the Faculty of Agriculture Saab Fares Abi Saab. He was welcomed by the Dean of the faculty, Professor V.Plyuschikov. They discussed issues of possible cooperation between PFUR and the Lebanese National University. Saab Fares Abu Saab accepted the Dean’s offer to join the Editorial Board of the Bulletin of the Faculty of Agriculture «Agriculture and animal husbandry».

The Faculty of Engineering held XI International Symposium «Intelligent Systems» INTELS-2014. The aim of the symposium was to discuss a wide range of issues related to the use of the latest scientific and technological achievements in the elaboration, creation and implementation of control systems of new generation and intelligent information processing systems.

On the basis of PFUR was held the I Forum of Foreign Graduates of Russian higher education institutions. The forum was attended by foreign graduates from Russian universities and PFUR, as well as by students, leaders of student organizations and associations of Peoples’ Friendship University. The forum participants took part in a videoconference and in the discussion: «We studied in Russia: Russian modern education through the eyes of foreign graduates».

Famous PFUR alumnus Sangadji Tarbayev is elected to the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for 2014-2017.

The organizing committee of Open Student Internet Olympic Games awarded PFUR with the title “Winner of Open Student Internet Olympic Games- 2014” pointing out special role of the University as an institution with great strategic ambitions in choosing talented youth.

“Smart E-Moto RUDN” team of the Department of exploitation of auto vehicle took the 3rd place among 14 European HEIs at Smartmoto Challenge championship in Spain (Barcelona). We congratulate students of the Engineering Faculty: A.Trunova, I.Pinchukova, V.Stepanova, V.Boyarkin, T.Levandovsky, A.Rybin and E.Gladkov. Smartmoto Challenge – championship of light electric motorcycles made by students of the Engineering HEIs. Faculty of Philology held a solemn ceremony of presentation of award «Student Oscar» for the best film among first-year students.

Students of «Advertising and Public Relations» underwent training in Riga, at the University of RISEBA. Students attended a huge number of interesting classes and workshops. Students from PFUR and RISEBA worked together on a real project “Discover Latvia” and presented it to the customer.

The brightest and long anticipated event of landscape art - III Moscow International Festival of Gardens and Flowers “MOSCOW FLOWER SHOW” took place in Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure. It brought together the landscape industry professionals, architects, designers and florists from Russia, Great Britain, France, Italy and other countries. The event is traditionally attended by students of the Faculty of Agriculture majoring in «Landscape architecture and design».

90 years since the birth of Stanis V.F., Rector of the University of Friendship of Patrice Lumumba - Russian Peoples’ Friendship University in 1970-1993, President of the Peoples’ Friendship University in 1993 -2003. His more than thirty years of work at the University can be called without doubt the «Age of Stanis».

Representatives of the Faculty of Philology participated in Tikhvin Esperanto workshops that were held in the Leningrad region, near Lake Tsaritsino. They attended lectures and master classes in linguistics, linguistics and philology.

A delegation of young political representatives from Europe arrived at PFUR. The visit was part of the «New Generation» program, short-term study visits to the Russian Federation for young representatives of political, social, scientific and business circles of foreign states.

Folkloric studio «Raduga» invited friends to the concert «Let’s sing about summer!» The concert was held in the concert hall of PFUR Interclub.

PFUR held an Open doors day. At the main building pupils and their parents were received by the faculties and institutes representatives from PFUR. At this traditional meeting with the University administration they had a possibility to get acquainted with the programs and the system of education at PFUR.

Vladimir Filippov, Rector of the Peoples’ Friendship University, Academician of RAE, HAC Chairman received Mr. Somda Antoine, Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the Russian Federation. Mr. Somda Antoine is our University 1995 graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Law.The meeting passed in a friendly atmosphere, and the parties discussed the issue of training highly qualified personnel (graduate students and masters) for the Republic of Burkina Faso in such relevant for the country areas as international law, medicine, agriculture, engineering and others.

The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia hosted the first international school students conference «Lift to the Future» for talented children from 18 countries. The central event of the conference was the School poster exhibition, where 150 students from 30 countries presented their works on key scientific and technical issues.

Peoples’ Friendship University (Faculty of Science) together with the Steklov Mathematical Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences and Moscow State University organized the Seventh International Conference on Differential and Functional Differential Equations. The Conference was awarded the status of a satellite of the International Mathematical Congress in Seoul, Korea, 13-21 August, 2014.

In the hall of the PFUR main building the annual conference of researchers, teachers and students of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia was held. At the conference, delegates heard reports from the rector and administration of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia for the academic year 2013/2014.

As part of the All-Russian festival of student publications and projects «Crystal Arrow-2014» «MEFI 2014» laureate film «We - the citizens of the world», created by PFUR TV became a laureate and won the first place in the nomination «Volunteers with us.»I and III degree diplomas in the nomination «Best Radio Program» were awarded to the creative team of second-year journalist students. Projects of our journalists were recognized as the best among 4,257 works from 398 universities of Russia.

At the university a solemn Initiation ceremony for 1st-year students took place. The event was attended by vice-rectors, honored guests and parents of students. The 1st-year students were presented with traditional symbolic «Keys to Knowledge».

On the racetrack, «ADM» for the first time the Russian stage of the international competition «Formula Student» was held. The only volunteer group selected by the organizers of «Formula Student» to assist at the competitions was our volunteer group «Wind of Change», with the Center of Student Youth Teams «Friendship Meridian» being an official partner of «Formula Student».

In Sochi the VII All-Russian scientific-practical seminar «The reproductive potential of Russia: version and controversies», co-organized by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a Course of Perinatology took place. The seminar was attended by 2,446 people.

Soloists of folk studio «Raduga», dance groups of Ecuador and Arab East fraternities, ensemble «Drums of Benin» took part in the festivity «You, my beloved capital!” dedicated to the Day of the city. The concert was held in the Lomonosov district of Moscow.

The Finals of «Small FIFA World Cup» among students «Rector Cup 2014», the award ceremony and the closing ceremony of the championship were held. The team of Côte d’Ivoire became the winner.

Group of our students with the assistance of Law Institute, in cooperation with the sports club «Druzhba» participated in the VIII World Tamburello tournament in Marseille (France). According to the results of the competition PFUR team took the third place at the VIII World Tournament.

The Alley of human values was opened in PFUR. At the square in front of the main building were installed 6 benches, which symbolize love, friendship, inspiration, abundance, sincerity and courage. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Mandisi Bongani Mabuchi Mpahlua visited Peoples’ Friendship University.Visit of the Ambassador to the Peoples’ Friendship University is associated with the preparation for the celebration in the Russian Federation of the 20th anniversary of the freedom of South Africa.

PFUR Rector, academician of the Russian Academy of Education Filippov V.M. received a delegation from the AL-Neelain University (Sudan), headed by its Rector Professor Ahmed Mohammed Eltaeb.The delegation arrived at the university to have talks on inter-university and scientific cooperation, especially in the field of tropical medicine, geology, tropical agriculture, engineering, history, archeology and Arab language.

In Sochi the XIII international Investment Forum “Sochi-2014” took place in the main media Centre in the Imereti lowland. PFUR Sochi Institute was represented at the Forum by 382 volunteers from student and teachers staff.

The Dean of the Agriculture faculty Pluschikov V.G. and Vice-Dean Dokunin P.A. took part in the meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and held a work meeting with Chekmarev P.A., RAS academician, director of the Department of plant, chemicals and plant protection, on the issues of organizing Scientific Session of the Ministry of Agriculture at PFUR Agriculture faculty.

36 teams participated in the mini-football tournament, dedicated to the 55th university anniversary. The winners will represent PFUR at the Russian Championship in Moscow. Sport Club “Druzhba”.

A delegation from Al-Neelain University (Sudan, Khartoum), headed by Rector Professor Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Eltaib visited the museum of our university. The guests got familiar with the photo exhibition, exhibits, university history, its graduates, social work, sport activities and recreation of our students. The delegates were given souvenirs with the museum symbols and video CDs about our University.

Days of Culture of Armenian Students took place in PFUR. The event featured exhibitions of national fraternities, “Tasty festival” and a concert in the Interclub assembly hall.

Day of Open doors took place at PFUR. The Faculty of Continuing Education for teachers of the Russian language with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation held All-Russian practical-scientific conference “Russian language teaching innovations in the conditions of multilinguality”. A collection of scientific articles was published.

At the IFL Department of theory and practice of foreign languages, a range of meetings, dedicated to a professional holiday – Translator’s International day took place.

According to the data from QS World University Rankings in 2014, PFUR moved from the group 491-500 to the group 471-480, thus one more time confirming to be one of the best universities. The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia has participated in this ranking for 4 years and shows stable improvement. The complete version of the rankings consists of 863 education institutions, 21 of them being Russian, plus 3 in comparison with the previous year. From 1,100 Russian Universities ТОР-500 includes 10 universities, with PFUR ranking 7.

The International Society for the History of Medicine “Golden Fleece of the History of Medicine” awarded a medal “For Important Contribution to the History of Medicine” to professor Tatiana Sergeevna Sorokina, curator of the Course of history of medicine of PFUR, member of the Presidium of the Russian society of historians of medicine at the 44th Congress of the society (Tbilisi, September 10-14, 2014).

In Astrakhan the III All – Russian Congress of international students and the II Caspian Forum of International students took place. At the opening ceremony Rector V.Filippov, the president of HAC, the President of the Board of regents of the Association of International Students gave a speech.

Delegation of Peoples´ Friendship University, headed by Rector V.Filippov, participated in the VIII Week of Education “Education without boundaries” and in 5th Congress of Ministers of Education of the countries-members of SCO held at Altai State University. During the forum the V Meeting of the Ministers of Education of SCO countries took place. Its main achievement was approval of the regulations and certification of SCO University. Such certificate will temporarily (before a fully accepted diploma comes in force) will be

given to the students who completed their studies according to USCO programs.

Sochi Institute of Peoples´ Friendship University completed its work in the mark of the project in Sochi city – Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix. A group of 450 students- volunteers of Sochi Institute of PFUR did a great job.

The Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences celebrated the 65th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. Zhao Guocheng, our guest of honor, Plenipotentiary Minister, Counsellor of Education of the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation met with Vice-Rector on students affairs Gladush A.D, Tsvyk V.A., Dean of FHSS, Ponomarenko L.V., Deputy Dean on international relations, teachers and students.

«Unikum» centre for continuing education summarized the results of web All-Russian Olympiad of Unique Possibilities “Unikum” centre. More than 2,000 people from different Russian cities and abroad participated in the Olympiad.

Festival of Science 2014. At the faculties and institutes of PFUR the Festival events were held in a form of scientific lectures, excursions, exhibitions, video film and movies demonstration, master classes, meetings with the graduates. A collection of scientific articles of the students and postgraduates, winners of international, All-Russian university contests and Olympiads was published.

Student team “Druzhba” from PFUR rated first in the annual Open Interacademic Tournament on Ashihara-carate, organized by Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University with the support and participation of the Association of student spot clubs.

Timed to the 55th anniversary of PFUR the Faculty of Economics held an International chess tournament. The competition coplied with the Swiss system and relevant FIDE regulations. The main judge was Safonov N.A., 1st category judge.

At the IFL “The best student group” contest, timed to the 55th anniversary of PFUR started.

A delegation from the Faculty of Ecology, comprised of the Dean, Chernych N.A., Head of the Department of Environmental Geoscience Stanis E.V. and associate professor of forensic ecology Bayeva Y.I., participated in the activities under the international project “Days of ecological enlightenment in the Republic of Bulgaria”, organized by Non-governmental ecological fund n.a. Vernadskiy V.I., Gazprom Ltd., and the Fund “Sustainable development of Bulgaria under the auspices of MFA.

At the Department of theory and history of journalism practical-scientific conference “Creative youth as a particular social group” for the teachers of relevant subjects in Moscow and Moscow region, as well as for students and postgraduates of the Philological Faculty, majoring in psychology and pedagogics took place. As the result collection of 60 articles, selected by the organizing committee are being published.

PFUR team participated in an intellectual game at the forum “Open innovations”, reaching the finals and receiving books and certificates from Rossnano affiliated company.

PFUR professor of master program «Engineering and physical technologies in nanotechnology industry» Viktor Bykov was named the winner of the Award RUSNANOPRIZE 2014 for his work in optics and electronics for nanotechnology.

V. Matvienko, Chairman of the Federation Council visited PFUR and took part in the First meeting of Observatory Council, established due to obtaining by the University the status of autonomous state institution. V.Matvienko was elected President of the Council that consists of the University representatives and general public. Rector V.M. Filippov expressed hope that with the support of the Council of the Federation the University’s international mission can be accomplished more fully.

Mr. Zan Tan, Vice-General director of UNESCO agency on education issues was awarded the title Doctor Honoris Causa of PFUR and received corresponding regalia. The title was given to him unanimously at the decision of the PFUR Academic Board of September, 22, 2014 for remarkable contribution in science, culture, education and international academic cooperation.

Amateur groups of Interclub took part in International Pushkin Youth Festival “Abreast with the times”, which was held in Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas.

The Faculty of Science held a contest of amateur art, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Peoples’ Friendship University.

In London the Week of the Russian language and culture took place. The Institute of Refresher Training won the contest of the Federal Agency on cooperation with CIS countries, compatriots living abroad and international humanitarian cooperation (Rossotudnichestvo) on organization and implementation of a range of activities for teachers of Russian in France and Great Britain.

In Astana, the meeting of PFUR graduates took place. This meeting opened a range of meetings in different countries in the frame of celebrations of the 55th anniversary of PFUR. More than 150 people participated in the celebrations, among them members of the association of PFUR graduates and other Russian (Soviet) universities, many of whom are famous political and social figures and businessmen in Kazakhstan. PFUR delegation,

headed by Rector V.Filippov took part in the event. The delegation comprised V.Chetiy, Head of the Alumni Department, A.Abashidze, head of the Department of international law, associate professor from the Department of theory and history of state and law of the Institute of History M.Fedorov.

Peoples’ Friendship University at the order of the Federal Agency on cooperation with CIS countries, compatriots living abroad and international humanitarian cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) held Days of the Russian language and culture in Belgium. Days of the Russian language took place in three Belgian cities: Brussels, Mons and Leuven.

At the decision of Academic Board of PFUR from October 20, 2014, professor Daisaku Ikeda, the founder of Soka University, modern Japanese humanitarian, philosopher, poet and writer unanimously was awarded Doctor Honoris Causa for outstanding contribution to world science, culture, education and intentional academic cooperation. The awarding ceremony was carried out by PFUR delegation, consisting of Head of the International Protocol E.V.Martynenko and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences V.A.Tsvyk, leaving for Japan at the beginning of November 2014 upon the agreement of the parties to conclude the talks on scientific and educational cooperation with Soka University and sign corresponding documents on behalf of the PFUR administration.

At Jordan University in Amman, International Forum of the Rectors of leading Russian and Jordan universities started. The Russian delegation headed by L.Efremova, Vice-director of Rossotrudnichestvo, also comprised Ministers of education and science of Russia, as well as rectors of 11 Russian universities, among them prof.N.Kirabaev, PFUR Vice-Rector for Research.

At Mainau island (Germany, Baden-Wurttemberg land) joint Russian-German Landscape Workshop “Beautiful New World”, with the participation of PFUR students majoring in «Gardening and landscape construction» and «Landscaping» took place.

In the hall on the 3rd floor of the Medical Institute a solemn opening ceremony of a memorial plate of distinguished national biochemist of the RAS, academician Temirbolat Tembolatovich Berezov took place. PFUR Rector V.Filippov, Director of the Medical Institute A.Abramov and Ossetian community representatives in Moscow participated in the ceremony.

In the assembly hall of the main building XXXIX Meeting of “A” Students of PFUR took place. The honorary guest of the Meeting was RSA academician and member of the Presidium V.Starodubov. At the meeting Honorary Diplomas to the Winners of Scholarship n.a. PFUR second rector V.Stanis were awarded. “A” students with the best rates during the last 10 semesters competed for a prize –“Hyundai Solaris” car.

107 teachers, students and staff members donated blood during PFUR Donor’s Day.

In Sochi sport club “Druzhba” representatives participated in II Congress of the Association of student sport clubs of Russia. In the event the leaders and activists of student sport clubs from 79 universities of Russia took part. 23 October, V.Putin, President of the Russian Federation, met with the delegates of the II Congress.

In folklore studio “Raduga” a series of concerts, timed to the 50th anniversary of the studio took place.

The project «Oh, PFUR - you are the whole world!» linguistic-didactic contests «Well begun is half done!» and «Who’s new out there?» dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Peoples’ Friendship University took place.

On the order of the RF Ministry of Education and Science PFUR Rector V. Filippov was appointed head of the working group on the development of the strategy of education in the Russian Federation. In the near future Vladimir Mikhailovich will form a working group and approve its composition in order to implement the most important provisions of the National Strategy of Action for Children for 2012-2017.

In PFUR IFL the festival of student films, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of PFUR started.

At the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences a meeting with a famous journalist and publicist Vladimir Solovyov “Full contact: Russia in a modern world”, organized by the Centre of historical expertise and state prognostics of PFUR was held. Rector V.Filippov opened the meeting and presented the guest.

In Moscow, in the Russian Peoples’ Friendship University Festival of Youth and Students of neighborhood belt countries «Eurasia - that’s us!» opened.The Festival brought together more than 200 experts and youth leaders from Eurasian countries: journalists, leaders of youth organizations, young politicians, science and culture figures and foreign students studying in Russian universities.

Protocol E. V. Martynenko, Head of Asia department V.V.Belous and Dean of the Faculty of Science L.G. Voskresensky.After the meeting a cooperation agreement between the Peoples’ Friendship University and the University of Natural Sciences of Vietnam National University and the work program cooperation for the period up to 2017 were signed.

Peoples’ Friendship University received Robin Lu, Director of the Education Department of the Moscow Representation of Taipei-Moscow Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation.During the negotiations the parties reached an agreement on cooperation in the field of double degree programs for PFUR students and students from leading universities of Taiwan, on joint scientific conferences, internships of one semester duration and short summer and winter schools with programs of further education in Russia and Taiwan.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is the first Russian university to become member of the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP).

Peoples’ Friendship University signed a cooperation agreement with Moscow Domodedovo AirportThis document covers several areas of cooperation between the airport and our university: target training for students in the framework of the Inflow program, employment of graduates of the University at the airport, organization of training and retraining of Domodedovo specialists on the

The team of the Engineering Faculty “Smart E-moto RUDN” ranked first among the debutants at the Moscow stage of international electromotobikes competitions “Smartmoto Challenge Moscow”, held in the framework of the forum-exhibition «Open Innovation 2014». Our team successfully passed the technical check-up, defended the business plan

and design report, and in the competition for acceleration showed the best result.

The Women’s Committee met at the end of October to report on the work done in 2012-2014 and elect the new Board. R.Fattakhova, 1st-year Master student of the IFL was elected Chair of the Women’s Committee.

PFUR delegation visited Petrozavodsk (Karelia) and took part in the «Route of friendship across Karelia regions». As part of the Moscow festival «Student Night of Arts» in the concert hall of Interclub «An Evening of jazz music in PFUR» took place. Students from Haiti, Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Angola, Colombia, Serbia, Ukraine and Russia enjoyed the performance.

On the Day of National Unity Denis Kovrizhin, a 4th year student of the Faculty of Engineering, the leader of «Meridian Druzhby» had the great honor together with the Russian President Vladimir Putin to lay flowers to the monument to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky on Red Square. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the main religions and youth organizations.

In PFUR the V All-Russian scientific-practical conference «Mass media in a Multipolar World: Problems and Prospects» took place. The conference was devoted to the problems of modern functioning of the media and communication, as well as topical issues of advertising and public relations.

In PFUR the Days of culture of students from the Republic of Angola took place. The event featured national exhibitions of the fraternity, tournament on mini-football, the conference «39 years of independent development of the Republic of Angola: results, trends and prospects» and an evening concert in the hall of PFUR Interclub.

The Soka University (Japan) hosted the graduation ceremony of PFUR Doctor Honoris Causa, founder of Soka University Professor Daisaku Ikeda. The ceremony was attended by the rector of Soka University Professor Yoshihisa Baba, Chairman of the University Yasunori Tashiro, teachers and students, as well as by the Head of the international protocol department of PFUR Martynenko E.V. and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Tsvyk V.A. During the ceremony an agreement

on cooperation between the two universities was signed.

PFUR IFL also presented its educational services.

PFUR delegation arrived with an official visit at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). The result of the visit was signing the Cooperation Agreement between the universities, as well as the work program for cooperation between the Agrarian Faculty of PFUR and the Faculty of Agriculture, Environment and Forestry of the University of Aristotle.

The first group majoring in «Public Relations» started classes at the School of copywriting. Director and author of the program is a specially invited expert and a true master of the craft Elena Zenovieva.

Agrarian Department received a delegation of the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of the Republic of Cuba: Dr.Eulogio Pimentel Vázquez, the Center Director, executive director for the promotion of business projects Marinella Garcia Seaver and Center regional representative, member of the Embassy of Cuba in Moscow Carmen Acosta Bass.

Tamara Guramovna Beruchashvili, graduate of the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the PFUR Patrice Lumumba in 1985 was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

Students from PFUR and other universities of Russia took part in the IV Stage of Olympic Games of the students of Union State (Russia, Belarus) in Anapa (Krasnodar region). PFUR team in volleyball took the second place. Team athletes of PFUR showed their worth in all kinds of programs and took the 5th place, fighting on equal terms with the students of physical education departments.

The final of PFUR KVN tournament took place. The winner of the tournament and the Cup was «The Big Breaks» team.

PFUR hosted the VI Interuniversity Student Festival «We made friends in Moscow», dedicated to the International Day of Tolerance and the International Day of students. The festival was held under the motto «Peace through Culture». The festival featured national exhibitions of fraternities and associations of PFUR students from around the world, as well as an exhibition of students of Moscow State University of International relation of MFA of Russia. The Rector’s hall hosted a round table on the topic: «Dialogue of languages and cultures in the XXIst century», «Cultural diversity as a factor of unity of nations.» The round table

was attended by students and graduates of PFUR and 6 universities of South-West of Moscow.

IFL summed up the results of the festival of student television films, timed to the 55th anniversary of Peoples’ Friendship University. The winner became a TV movie, presented by the students of the 1st year direction «European Studies».

149 heads of student organizations signed the Declaration of Student Community of Peoples’ Friendship University.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences held a meeting with the graduate’ 2004 Yuri Spirin, employee of the Department of International Organizations of the MFA of Russia. This meeting was held as part of activities to mark the 55th anniversary of Peoples’ Friendship University.

The event of Palestinian students fraternity was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine in the Russian Federation, Dr. Fayed Mustafa, representatives of the embassies of Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria in Russia, PFUR staff and students and other guests.

In the State Central Concert Hall «RUSSIA» Russian Student Sports Union (RSSU) with the support of the Government of Moscow held a «Stars of Student sport» Ball. The ceremony was to honor the best student - athletes, national sports federations, universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations that have made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of university sports. Rector of the Peoples’ Friendship University Vladimir Filippov became Laureate in the nomination « Rector of the

University: for the support of university sports».

The Week of Culture of students from the Republic of Haiti featured a championship on mini-football in the PFUR SC «Megasfera», national exhibitions of the fraternity and demonstration of Haitian movies.

PFUR hosted the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) - a large-scale international project designed to promote the idea of entrepreneurship and innovation that are the foundation of economic development and welfare of the population. Business models were demonstrated by the winners from St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and Moscow. This year, students and teachers of PFUR Faculty of Economics became full members of the GEW.

In the hall of the main building of PFUR a concert «Music Planet №25. Times and years: the 90th anniversary of Stanis V.F.» took place. Soloists of the vocal studio «Orpheus» and a choir of the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism «Roza Vetrov» performed.

Days of Culture of students from Lebanon featured national exhibitions of the fraternity and an evening concert where Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lebanon in the Russian Federation Mr. Shawki Bou Nassar gave a speech.

The national exhibition of the student fraternity of Iraq took place. Students installed a big tent where guests could sit, listen to music, try oriental sweets and drink hot coffee. At the official opening ceremony of the exhibition the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq in the Russian Federation, Mr. Hashim Mustafa Abdelkarim was present.

In the Medical School of Peoples’ Friendship University the annual congress «Health and Education in the XXI century» was held. The congress was prepared by a team of teachers and students, led by professor A.Avanesova. The event was attended by scientists and students from 116 universities of Russia and representatives from more than 120 countries worldwide.

The Days of Culture of Yemen students took place at PFUR. The event featured national exhibition of the fraternity, a round table and a documentary film, as well as an evening concert in the hall of the Interclub of PFUR. The official opening ceremony of the Days of Culture was held with the participation of the First Counselor on Culture of the Embassy of Yemen in the Russian Federation, Mr. Al-Anwar Subayhi.

In the lecture hall of the Medical Institute a staff meeting of the Medical Institute, timed to the 55th anniversary of Peoples’ Friendship University was held. The meeting «Unique University. From the history of PFUR” was chaired by academician V.Frolov.

A chess tournament dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the university took place in the frame of qualifying stage of the Moscow club tournaments of Russia. The organizer of the competition was PFUR sports club «Druzhba».According to the results of the tournament were awarded 10 of the strongest guys (5 boys and 5 girls) who will represent their university in the finals of the Moscow club tournaments in Russia.

Delegation of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences composed of professor V. Tsvyk, Dean of the FHSS, professor L. Ponomarenko, Deputy Dean on international relations, and associate professor T. Solovieva, Head of the Chinese section of the Department of Foreign Languages, visited the Institute of History and Culture of Shandong University and Beijing University of Foreign Languages. During the talks in the Institute of History and Culture of Shandong University the Chinese part represented by professor Wang Huwei, Director of the Institute, and leading professors, underlined that joint Master programs of PFUR and Shandong University were part of the National Project of China. They also underscored the need for intensifying scientific cooperation. The parties discussed participation of representatives of PFUR in the World Congress of Historians. On November 25, talks at the Institute of Foreign Languages and Institute of Political Science and Public Administration took place. The parties signed an agreement on inclusive education in “Public administration”. On November 27, talks in Beijing University of Foreign Languages were held. Professor Li Yonghui, Director of the Institute of International Relations, professor Yan Yi, Deputy Director, Qiao Xu, representative of the international department, and students participated in the talks. The parties signed a work program of cooperation between PFUR and Beijing University of Foreign Languages which confirmed the establishment of a Master’s program “World Politics” and determined main areas of academic mobility.

Moscow hosted the III International Forum «Protocol service.» Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is one of the organizers of the Forum. Competitions in various sports took place at PFUR sport facilities in the frame of the 27th Moscow Student Games.

PFUR Interclub “Amaren” theatre presented a new oriental show “Babylon” on the stage of “Golden Ring” theatre. It is a fourth project of M.Oganyan, producer of “Amaren” theatre, whose creations have always amazed the audience with emotions and fantastic music.

Department of Social and Differential Psychology of PFUR held a traditional Ten-day event of psychology at Peoples’ Friendship University, which is dedicated this year to the 55th anniversary of PFUR, the 50th anniversary of the Department of Social and Differential Psychology (from 1964 to 2004 – Department of Pedagogy and Psychology), the 30th anniversary of the scientific school under the leadership of A. Krupnov and the 10th anniversary of the first graduate of bachelors in psychology at PFUR. During this event a contest of student wall newspapers and creative works dedicated to the Day of the psychologist was held, as well as testing of personal development training programs elaborated in the framework of career guidance for school students, and business games with students of the third year were organized. The event program included a traditional gala concert in which students, professors, graduate students, and graduates of the department of Social and Differential Psychology and Psychology and Pedagogy of the Philological Faculty took part.

The team of PFUR Law Institute took part in the III International student’s competition on international trade law and the international commercial court (Minsk). Among the organizers of the III International student’s competition were ICC Lex mercatoria; ICC (Paris); Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State University; Civic organization “Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers”; The International Arbitration Court at the BelCCI; ICC Russia; «YURSPEKTR», LLC. PFUR team consisted of four participants: Dmitry Startsev – captain; Anastasia Chumanova; Yaroslav Ushakov; Aleksandra Kuzmina. The coach of the team is E. Sitkareva, associate professor of civil and labor law, member of arbitration commission ICC Russia. According to the results of the competition PFUR team won the nomination «The Best Position of the Plaintiff». Yaroslav Ushakov and Anastasia Chumanova who took the II place in the nomination «The Best Speaker» took part in oral debate. Arbitrators noted the high level of preparation and professionalism of the team performances.

The meeting of PFUR students with the Regional director of UNAIDS in Eastern Europe Dr.Viney Soldan and the expert of World Health Organization Regina Winter took place. Representatives of international organizations discussed the prevalence of HIV/AIDS among youth, preventive programs which are carried out in different countries, and dwelled on the problem of discrimination of HIV-positive people. They showed to the participants a movie prepared by UNAIDS, and distributed information materials (brochures) and red ribbons - a symbol of fight against AIDS.

The Institute of Foreign Languages held the annual student scientific and practical conference «Les jeunes et le travail» at the Department of the theory and practice of foreign languages. The reports which were in French covered the following topics: youth and employment; higher education and vocational training of future experts; ability to set a purpose and achieve it.

Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation together with the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation held a meeting on certification of highly qualified scientific personnel. The meeting discussed current issues related to the establishment of dissertation councils, suspension, renewal and termination of their activity, evaluation of scientific activity of organizations on the basis of which dissertation councils are established, and members of the dissertation councils. The meeting was attended by L. Ogorodov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, V. Filippov, Rector of PFUR and Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and I. Shishkanova, Director of the Department of certification of research and teaching staff.

The annual General Assembly of the European Council on Languages which works under the auspices of the EU took place. The European Council on Languages, advancing the ideas of multilingual education in Europe, unites 140 higher education institutions-representatives of the countries of Europe and CIS. The official representative from PFUR in the Council is the chairman of PFUR Commission on foreign languages Anastasia Atabekova. A. Atabekova’s presentation was devoted to the experience of teaching foreign languages

and PFUR language policy. By the results of the performance Anastasia Anatolyevna was elected to the Academic Council.

PFUR held a traditional competition «Miss Agrarian Faculty». Girls told about themselves as future professionals: plant breeders, veterinarians, veterinary and sanitary experts, landscape designers. The dancing performances which caused standing ovations of the audience were the most colourful. The winner was Klaudia Manning. It gave her the rank «Miss Agrarian faculty 2014» and the right to represent the faculty at the all-university competition «Miss PFUR».

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences held a meeting with the diplomatic staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. During the meeting the professors of the Department of Theory and History of International Relations, and the Department of Foreign Languages of FHSS told about the experience of training foreign affairs specialists for the MFA of Russia and the foreign states.

In the framework of “University Saturdays” project the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences organized a lecture devoted to the topic “East – Russia – West. Russia’s place in the world at the beginning of the 21th century” for high school students. This event was organized by professors of the Universal History Department.

PFUR held a chess tournament in which students from different countries who study at the Faculty of the Russian Language and General Educational Disciplines took part. The tournament ended with a tie.

International forum of rectors of universities of Russia and Cuba in which the leading Russian higher educational institutions participated took place. From the part of PFUR M. Nozhevnik, representative of the Agrarian faculty, and G. Moshlyak, deputy chief of the Department of South and Latin America, participated. The Cuban delegation consisted of the representatives of the Ministry of higher education of the Republic of Cuba (with Ramón Gonzalez

Gonzalez as deputy minister), University of information sciences (UCI), University of Holgu (UHOLM), Central University «Las Villas», rectors of universities: INSTEC Institute of advanced technologies; Mining and metallurgical institute of Moa (ISMMM); UNAH Agricultural university of Havana; University of pedagogical sciences «Blas Roca», Granma. The forum covered questions concerning programs of network interaction formation between profile higher education institutions of Russia and Cuba, including academic mobility.

Leonardo Arizaga, Deputy Minister of Foreign affairs and Political Integration of the Republic of Ecuador, visited PFUR.During the meeting with Rector Vladimir Filippov Mr.Arizaga conveyed thanks of the president of Ecuador Rafael Correa Delgado who has visited PFUR many times, for the support given by PFUR to the students from Ecuador, both former and present. As part of his visit to PFUR the Deputy Minister of foreign affairs and political integration of the Republic of Ecuador Leonardo Arizaga made a report for students and PFUR professors. Mr.Arizaga told about the country, development features in modern conditions and about plans of cooperation with the Russian Federation in educational and economic areas.

Within the XXVII Moscow student sports games our women’s team on volleyball won over combined MPSU team with the score 3-2.

The Institute of Foreign Languages held student Olympiads on foreign languages «I Love PFUR» devoted to the 55th anniversary of PFUR where students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, North Korea, Russia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan participated. The Engineering faculty with the support of the Department of Education of Moscow held the II conference of collaborations of school and university students as part of the Engineering Festival for Moscow students. The conference was held in order to develop the scientific and educational network infrastructure to support engineering education in multidisciplinary educational complex of Moscow in the priority area of «Organization and carrying out activities aimed at identifying and supporting gifted children and youth, developing and improving the quality of professional education, and implementing educational projects for different categories of the population.» Collected papers of participants were published.

Vladimir Filippov, Rector of PFUR and member of the Russian Academy of Education, received Hilda Rosa León Castellanos, Vice Rector for international activity of the University of Havana, and Oscar Díaz Ritso, Vice Rector for international activity of the Institute of High Technologies of Cuba. During the meeting they discussed problems of interuniversity cooperation, paying special attention to teaching Russian as a foreign language in the Cuban higher

educational institutions, organization of interuniversity exchanges and joint scientific research in the areas of mutual interest.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Federal agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, compatriots living abroad and international humanitarian cooperation held a seminar on problems of development of international cooperation in education, science and innovations at the premises of PFUR. The seminar was attended by representatives of Russian higher education institutions who are responsible for strategic development; cooperation with international and foreign organizations in education, science and innovations; export of educational services, including acceptance/mobility of the foreign/Russian citizens who are trained employees of scientific and pedagogical and administrative structures.

The military patriotic contest «Victory for the sake of the Future» ended. Soloists of the vocal studios “Raduga” as winners of the contest were invited to take part in the gala concert.

The President of Al-Mustafa International University (Iran) Mr. Ayatulla Arafi and his representative in Moscow Mr. Hamid Reza Solti visited PFUR. The delegation of the Iranian university was received by V. Filippov, Rector of PFUR and member of the Russian Academy of Education. During the conversation the participants exchanged their views on the Russian-Iranian cooperation in the fields of education and science. Mr. Ayatulla Arafi informed V. Filippov of large Iranian investments into research development in the field of nanotechnologies, biotechnologies and space technologies. He noted the high level of political trust between Russia and Iran, paying attention to the available potential and need for development of scientific cooperation between the two states. In turn the Rector of PFUR professor V. Filippov offered two directions of possible cooperation between PFUR and Al-Mustafa International university: joint scientific research in the field of the Arab philosophy and cooperation in teaching Russian as a foreign language. PFUR is ready to provide training Iranian professors of Russian as a foreign language and increase their qualification, including organizing training courses in Iran. In the conclusion V. Filippov invited the president of Al-Mustafa International university Mr. Ayatull Arafi to take part in the 55th anniversary of PFUR which will be celebrated in February, 2015.

The stage plastic group “Isadora” took part in the scientific and practical conference-festival “Musical Movement: pedagogy, psychology and art practice” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the musical movement.

Valentina Ryazanova, director of the Isadora studio, made a report during the conference and held a workshop during the festival. The soloists of the Isadora studio took part in the concert program “Birth of dance from the spirit of music.”

As part of the Moscow “University Saturdays” project the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences presented a lecture “Constitutional reforms in Russia” for high school students. This event was organized by professors of the Department of Universal History.

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences held a theoretical and methodological seminar “German Party system: past, present and future.” Dr. Thomas Tuntschew, Associate Professor of the Department of politics and governance in Germany and Europe of the Potsdam University, was the seminar moderator.

Master’s students of the Institute of Hospitality business and tourism from Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan participated in IX Forum of Creative and Academic Intellectuals of the CIS Member States. The main topic of the Forum was “Development of Common CIS Humanitarian Space: Cooperation Prospects and Challenges.” Among the main subjects were science and education, intercultural dialogue, the role of youth in the development of the cultural heritage of the CIS countries, and the role of media in strengthening intercultural relations in the CIS. The Forum was attended by more than 300 delegates from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Russia.

PFUR held a meeting with a known Russian theologian and sociologist Sergey Filatov organized by the Institute of International Programs of PFUR. The meeting was attended by master’s students of the Institute of International Programs with majors in “Russia and adjacent regions” and “Management of international education”. Sergey Filatov, PhD in historical sciences, senior researcher at the Center for Research of general problems of the modern East of the Institute of Oriental

Studies of RAS, gave a lecture on “Confessional portrait of modern Russia” which aroused great interest among the participants. While answering the numerous questions of students Sergey Filatov covered such relevant issues as the origins of religious movements, the development of philosophical schools and interlacing of spirituality and simple human life. All main religions of the world (Buddhism, Christianity and Islam) were presented. Particular attention was paid to the present state of religious life in Russia starting from the 90s.The meeting was held as part of activities to mark the 55th anniversary of Peoples’ Friendship University.

The IFL organized theatrical Christmas gatherings and contests in the style of different English language tenses: Past Perfect (the Ancient world), Past Simple (the Middle Ages), Present Simple (Modern world), Present Continuous (the essence of modern times), Future Indefinite (unpredictable future through the eyes of young people).In an informal setting of a tea party with treats cooked by students themselves the would-be linguists, social care teachers, managers-psychologists and area studies professionals, together with the professors and the administration of the Institute celebrated in the traditions of different ages and countries the approaching Christmas and New Year. For the attention of the strict jury the students presented vocal and dance performances, sketches, interludes, thus showing not only their creativity, but also demonstrating language proficiency and knowledge of the culture of learning languages.Thanks to the talented directors and artists the guests of the evening plunged into the era of ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, learned the culture of China, and visited northern Scandinavia. As part of the Christmas meetings competitions «Best outfit of the era» and «Most Delicious Meal» were held.

PFUR Faculty of Economics hosted the I Open Contest of Defence-Industrial Complexes Organization Civic Innovation Projects. The Contest had four nominations: “Best world class innovation product elaboration”, “Best innovation product”, “Best innovation business” and “Best innovation project managers’ team”.

Professor of the Department of genetics, plant growing and protection of plants of the Agrarian faculty of PFUR Murat Gins got the award of the RF Government for scientific bases of selection of vegetable, fruit and berry crops with highly effective antioxidant system, innovative technologies of cultivation of vegetables, fruit, seeds, landing material and creation of new generation of functional foodstuff.

PFUR hosted the concert of student’s chamber chorus of the Institute of Hospitality business and Tourism «Wind rose» devoted to the 55th anniversary of PFUR. Antonin Léopold Dvorak’s composition «Those Deum» was performed for the first time. Such classics as “Misa Criolla” № 1,2,4,5 by Ariel Ramirez, scenic cantata №2 “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff», Cantatas № 4 and 7 “Songs of Kursk” by Georgy Sviridov were also performed.

In the PFUR building on Ordzhonikidze Street, 3 the Department of organic chemistry of the Faculty of Science held an event “Organiada-2014”, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of PFUR.

The Federation Council held a meeting of the Expert Council (EC) on the international activities of the State Duma Committee on Education (with V. Filippov as Chairman of the Advisory Board). The event was led by O. Andreeva, Vice-Rector for International Relations of PFUR. Rectors of the leading Russian universities, as well as N. Shaidenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, participated in the meeting. Expert Council members heard a report of L.Efremova, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, on «Results of adopting and improving mechanisms of recruitment and admission of foreign citizens to the universities of the Russian Federation» and agreed on continuing the activities of EC in 2016. Currently, elaboration of the action plan for the Council is taking place.

Students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences organized a meeting with Sergey Shilov, six time Paralympic Champion, seven time World Champion and Honoured Master of Sports.

Students of “Unicum” centre visited PFUR IFL. The Institute of Foreign Languages carries out fundamental academic training of students in the field of linguistics, international relations, translation, translation studies, psychology, pedagogy and management. The representatives of the Institute described to the Unicum students the benefits of bachelor and master studies at the IFL including such majors as Linguistics, Foreign Regional Studies, European Studies and Psychological and pedagogical education, as well as the opportunities of learning foreign languages at SPE including the opportunity to obtain a supplementary major in addition to the diploma of higher education during the main studies at PFUR.

Interclub hosted a New Year performance for children of the University employees.

PFUR held a cultural evening of student fraternity of Bangladesh dedicated to the national holiday “Victory Day”.

«Megasfera» sport centre hosted the annual Pre-New Year mini-football tournament of leading teams of PFUR faculties, PFUR employees and friends of PFUR.

Professor Sergey Vadimovich Stepashin, Doctor of jurisprudence, prominent state and political figure, Chairman of the supervisory board of the state corporation - Fund of assistance to reforming housing and communal services got the Diploma of Doctor Honoris Causa of PFUR at the meeting of PFUR Academic Board.

Faculty of Economics held a workshop “Modern staff requirements and trends in labor markets and international companies. Career opportunities for young specialists.” organized by the Department of International Economic Relations in cooperation with Roman Karlash, representative of Sales Executive in Nintendo Russia.

Sports Center hosted another PFUR volleyball championship among faculties in the frame of the 53rd University Olympics. Teams of Agrarian Faculty and Institute of World Economy and Business were the first play and the team of the Agrarian Faculty took the game with a score of 2:0. The nest game between the teams of the Faculty of Science and the Engineering Faculty ended with the Faculty of Engineering winning with a score of 2:0.

PFUR held a Student themed festival of national traditions. The program of the festival included a round table “Tales of the world” organized in the 1st Hall of the main building of PFUR and a gala concert of the participants of the festival “Kaleidoscope of folk tales” held in the assembly hall of the main building of PFUR.

PFUR Institute of Hospitality Business and Tourism held a festive New Year performance “Russian seasons” organized by 2nd year and 3rd year students in the frame of such disciplines as “Basic professional skills” and “Event direction”. V. Sorokova was the project leader.

Mr. Mohamed El-Badri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt, visited PFUR. He was received by V. Filippov, Rector of PFUR and member of the Russian Academy of Education, who informed Mr. Mohamed El-Badri of educational, scientific and international activities of Peoples’ Friendship University. In his speech Mr. Mohamed El-Badri expressed his high opinion of PFUR activity in training highly qualified personnel for foreign countries and suggested the establishment and development of inter-university cooperation between PFUR and Cairo University.The parties also discussed the procedure and conditions for the awarding of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of PFUR to the prominent foreign political and public figures, and also discussed the possibility of awarding this honorary title to Ibrahim Mahlab, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt.V. Filippov and Mohamed El-Badri agreed on continuing contacts on these issues and other matters of mutual interest.

Students and guests of honor participated in the Debate club at IHBiT and continued discussing a burning topic “How to be happy”.

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted a scientific-practical conference with foreign participation devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Institute of Medicine and to the 55th anniversary of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
