John Lennon (1940-1980)

John Winston Lennon was born on October 9th,

1940 in Liverpool, England. As a child, John

lived a life of uninterrupted calm. He didn't

recall feeling desperately sad or unsually happy.

Unfortunately that calm suddenly came to an

end when his mother died before his 18th

birthday. After the death of his mother, John

went to live with his aunt Mimi. John didn't

have good grades at school, but he had talent

and made it to the Liverpool College of Art.

John started playing rock ‘n’ roll and soon after

that he joined the Beatles, a band which he

helped form in 1960. The Beatles were a legend

in the history of popular music. After the group broke up, Lennon embarked

on a solo career that produced the critically acclaimed albums John

Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and iconic songs such as “Give

Peace a Chance” and “Imagine”. Lennon died in 1980 three weeks after the

release of his new album, Double Fantasy.
