How did you attract/address your audience? The point of sales in my hybrid genre magazine varies. A main feature of my magazine is the masthead and title. As the two words that stand out in the title are “music” and “motion” these stand out in the mast head as it has the work “in” separating the two works in a different font which stand out compared to the all capitalised “music” and “motion” also the 2 nd word isn’t the same font size which makes it lower which makes the other two words seem dominant. This makes them stand out at the top of the page and this will also make it stand out on shelves of supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco and Morrison’s and in retails shops such as news agents and WHSmiths. Also the use of having the “in” of my masthead in a different colour, which is also the house style colour of this issue of my magazine supports the cover lines. As it shares the same colour as the important words of the cover lines such as the film title, the models/actresses name, Also the use and purpose of having a stroke around my selected works is to make them stand out against the dark background image otherwise the wouldn’t stand out and wouldn’t be seen well on the shelves of the shops the magazine will be sold in. Another important feature is the enigma code in the main image, which is primarily there to attract the people that physically look closer or even pick up the magazine for a further look. The part of the image that stands out is the necklace the model is wearing that is the only feature that is in full colour compared to the rest of the main image that is in black and white. Also the reason for having it behind the barcode is to hide it, however as its by a convention that stands out on my front cover it can also draw the audiences gaze to spotting this enigma code.

How did you attract/address your audience?

The point of sales in my hybrid genre magazine varies. A main feature of my magazine is the masthead and title. As the two words that stand out in the title are

“music” and “motion” these stand out in the mast head as it has the work “in” separating the two works in a different font which stand out compared to the all

capitalised “music” and “motion” also the 2nd word isn’t the same font size which makes it lower which makes the other two words seem dominant. This makes them

stand out at the top of the page and this will also make it stand out on shelves of supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco and Morrison’s and in retails shops such as news agents and WHSmiths. Also the use of having the “in” of my masthead in a different colour, which is also the house style colour of this issue of my magazine supports the

cover lines. As it shares the same colour as the important words of the cover lines such as the film title, the models/actresses name, Also the use and purpose of having a

stroke around my selected works is to make them stand out against the dark background image otherwise the wouldn’t stand out and wouldn’t be seen well on the

shelves of the shops the magazine will be sold in.

Another important feature is the enigma code in the main image, which is primarily there to attract the people that physically look closer or even pick up the magazine for

a further look. The part of the image that stands out is the necklace the model is wearing that is the only feature that is in full colour compared to the rest of the main

image that is in black and white. Also the reason for having it behind the barcode is to hide it, however as its by a convention that stands out on my front cover it can also

draw the audiences gaze to spotting this enigma code.

The necklace colours are stereotypical colours for fantasy-based creatures such as spirits, wraiths and revenants, which relate the horror genre of the film, that the model

is in. Also the use of having my main image in black and white and having the majority of the conventions this way is to make the magazine stand out compared to

the others as it will look unusual and out of place which will make the target audience question this purpose and therefore creating unanswered questions for them that they

will want answered.

The text in my front cover varies, as there is use of multiple features and conventions. A use of an English technique is the use of 3 one-word sentences and the use of

alliteration that stand out against the main image. Also these 3 words describe the contents and the page that the cover line is referring to in the magazine. The word “NEW” stands out and tells the audience that there is new content that is possibly

exclusive to the magazine.

Another use of a convention is the main cover line has been illustrated/added onto. This is seen from the line of text between the two words of the main cover line. The line that adds on to the cover line stands out with the rest of the main cover line thus

making it look as important and as a part of it.
