What is a social group?
A social group is a collection ofpeople who interact with each
other and share similarcharacteristics and a sense of
unity.
Social groups can be defined by:• Gender• Sexuality• Hobbies• Race
• Occupation
Unfaithful fiancéCheaters are often
narcissists.
Cheaters are very goodliars.
The unfaithful man is verygood at hiding his affair.
We were inspired by CastorTroye from Face Off.
We have represented a social group of unfaithfulpeople with this character. We got inspiration fromCastor Troy from FaceOff, as he cheats on his
girlfriend.
Harj is dressed in blackclothing to add mystery to hischaracter, as it does not tellyou a lot about him, much like
Castor Troy.
In FaceOff, Castor Troy is very sly and secretive, so his girlfriend would not know what he was gettingup to behind closed doors. We decided to use this character trait for Harj's character as well because it
makes the audience dislike the character.
A lot of long shots are usedfor both Harj's character andCastor Troy. Rule of thirdsare used to make the
characters the focus of thescreen, further showing that
they are dominatingcharacters.
Alex Forrest Fatal Attraction
The MistressSly because she is goingbehind her best friends
back.
False
Promiscuous Two faced
In Fatal Attraction, Alexappeared sweet and
innocent, yet had a verypsycho side to her. We
showed the psycho side toour mistress at the end ofour opening, when shestabs the fiancée.
We chose to dress theMistress in a provocative way,by wearing a tight red croptop and a short skirt, to tellthe audience more about her
character. In Fatal Attraction, Alex alsodresses in provocative way,so we got inspiration from this
character.
Alex wants to kill herlover's family so thatshe can have him all
to herself.
Low angles are used a lot forboth Alex and The Mistress toshow power and dominance.
When talking to theFiancée, straightangles are used tosuggest that both theMistress and theFiancée are on thesame level, howeveras the flashbackscontinue throughoutthe opening,we knowthat the Mistress ishiding a lot and is notas sweet and innocentas she makes out to
be.
Fiancée
We took inspiration from The Bride (played byUma Thurman) from Kill Bill, because the bride'sclothes suggest that she was supposed to be
getting married, like my character.
Kill Bill is about The Bride getting revenge, which iswhat my character seeks to do by the end of our
thriller opening.
We dressed mycharacter in natural, everyday clothing, as Iwas meant to be seenas a working classwoman, because inthrillers, extraordinarythings happen toordinary people.
High angles were used for both characters so show how weak andvulnerable they are.
These high angles further helped to capture the Fiancée's innocence, shown through both dialogue and facial expressions.
Both character's have been wronged by their man and faced near death experiences, so they nowseek revenge.
