TokyoJapan is made up of four main islands, Hokkaido in at the top, Honshu in the middle, Kyushu at the bottom and Shikoku in between Kyushu and Honshu.

Tokyo

Most of the islands are mountainous, many volcanic. Japan has the tenth largest population in the world with around 128 million people. Tokyo is the largest city in Japan with a population of 12,369,000. The Greater Tokyo Area is the largest metropolitan area with over 30 million residents. Tokyo is considered one of the worlds major global city and mega city.

Flight Time & Fare

The best time to visit Japan is in the Fall (September-November). Japanese festivals in this season are related to the agriculture calendar. Festivals are held in every region to give thanks for harvest. People also set up stalls during this time and sell various foods, crafts and other things from the area.

Akihabara (Electric City)

Akihabara is sometimes referred to as the electric city. Akihabara has over 600 shops selling electronic gadgets and appliances. Akihabara is best known as one of the largest shopping places in the world for electronic, anime and otaku goods.

Harajuku

Harajuku is an area in between Shinjuku and Shibuya. There are some local landmarks which include the headquarters oh NHK, the Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park. Harajuku has two main shopping areas/streets. Omotesando and Takeshita-dori. Takeshita-dori caters for youth fashions and has many small stores. Recently Omotesando has seen a rise in expensive fashion stores such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Prada.

Ariake

The Tokyo International Exhibition Center is often referred to as “Tokyo Big Sight”. The exhibition center houses shops restaurants and artistic displays. Seven artworks are displayed around the exhibition centers grounds. Inside the center was the Worlds Tallest Indoor Water Indoor Fountain.
