One winter, it was so cold that the dawn froze solid. The ice made Earth stop spinning. Davy figured out how to melt the ice and make Earth spin again. David Crockett was an American legend and hero. He was born on August 17, 1786, in a small cabin near the mouth of Limestone Creek, in Tennessee. Crockett only went to school for six months as a child. However, he served as a member of the Tennessee legislature from 1821 to 1824. He then served as a member of the United States Congress.
