Delimitations of StudyDue to limited time and limited resources the

present study was delimited to the male Head Teachers of Multan District only.

Literature ReviewPunjab Examination Commission is an autonomous

body set up by the Government of the Punjab to assess grade 5 and grade 8 students learning level.

It also provides feedback to Education Department, District Education Officer, Curriculum developers, Schools, parents and students.

Design, develop, implement, maintain, monitor and evaluate system of examination for elementary education;

Collect data for research to improve curricula and teaching methodology

Identify the areas where improvement in training of the teachers or educationists is required •7

Literature ReviewThe assessment domains for Grade 5 candidates are Maths,

Science, English, Urdu, Social Studies, and Islamiat. For candidates in Grade 8 there is also Computer Sciences or Arabic, plus one other subject from a list of electives.

The language of the assessments reflects the language of subject instruction Urdu or English.

Grade V and VIII examination is mandatory as per government policyDifficulties in conducting PEC to school’s head teachers

CONCLUSION Security issue was not a big problem for Head Teachers in

conducting examination. Sitting arrangement was a problem Lack of funds was not a problem for Head Teachers. management of school staff was a problem for Head. basic facilities was a problem for Head Teachers in

conducting exams. provision of rooms was a big problem The online registration is also a big problem by largely

respondents. to ensure transparency was discussed as a big problem by

large group of respondents

RECOMMENDATIONS There should be proper sitting arrangements of students during PEC

exams. Division of work should be properly managed between school staff. Basic facilities should be provided during PEC exam. Sufficient number of rooms should be provided for conduction of PEC

exam. Online registration process should be properly planned and managed. The use of unfair means should be avoided during PEC exams. Leakage of paper should be avoided. Booti mafia should be avoided. Psychological stress should be avoided during conducting exams. Paper should only be made from syllabus. Out of course paper should

be discouraged. There should be proper maintenance of discipline.
