NATURAL DISASTERSNature often hits us with a very large force for example earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, droughts or floods and others.

In the case of our country in the north-east (Beni) 2014 suffered a major flood never before view , due to rains in the mountain range caused by “El Niño”. The towns of: Rurrenavaque, San Borja, San Joaquin, Santa Rosa, San Ramon and Santa Ana were the most affected.

Santa Ana despite having a defensive ring of more than two meters high around the city, people had to work day and night to place bags of ground on this and so increase height.

It worked together the municipal government, the parish church, the sub-governor, the navy and the general population, so that water is prevented from entering the city and cause the immediate departure of the population to other cities.

It was even necessary to leave the cities because the water level rose and could not live in the house because of the dangers of wild animals.It was a tough time for people, the solidarity of all was needed to help others, to bring food and give place to sleep.

There were many losses in the livestock area, and were very painful for everyone.They died lot of cows, horses, mules, deer, anteaters all wild animals that not found a dry place to survive.There were also many misfortunes in populations who lost their home and all water damaged housing.

But what we can salvage in Santa Ana is that the unity of the people and the will to do something for everyone and for others and encouraged them to move together to get ahead despite the bad situations.
