The Day the Birds Cry | Unknown Oil on canvas, 79cm x 39cm
Born 1949 in Lozan near Virovitica, and his home is in Zagreb. The paintings of Stjepan Dukic Pista are developed on the basis of classic aesthetics, within which the artist discovered and opened up a space for his individual experience and expression, which, together with a geometric abstract line, form an integral part (in the context of the entirety) of the work, and through this he confirms his singularity in contemporary Croatian art.

IAN GENTLE
Lowlife 1 | Unknown Acrylic on canvas, 119cm x 119cm
1945 – 2009 Ian Gentle is renowned for his sculptural pieces. His trademark humour and wit was an integral part of his work which could be described perhaps as more about drawing than sculpture. The elements of his works have been described as “a type of personal hieroglyphics—animated and fused from a dictionary of linear memories that stretch time.” Ian Gentle’s work is represented in almost all major state galleries as well as in extensive private collections
SYDNEY BALL
Tiger Dawn | 1974 22/24 Screen Print, 50cm x 76cm
Australian Printmakers Collection
Having lived in both New York and Europe throughout his artistic career, Sydney Ball's work is a reflection of his architectural surroundings. Working in both hard-‐edge abstraction, figurative and expressionistic styles, Ball's use of bright primary colours has remained a distinct entity throughout the development of his artistic career. During the period of the late 70s, Ball was heavily influenced by the American Colour Field painters in which their free and lively use of technique and colour are reflected his work.
LAWRENCE DAWS
Girl Sewing | 1977 10 / 40 Etching, 41cm x 41cm
Australian Printmakers Collection
Lawrence Daws has enjoyed a long and successful career as a painter and printmaker during which he has depicted the different characteristics of the Australian landscape with a unique sensibility.
The strange juxtapositions of landscapes, figures and forms create a personal lexicon – a kind of secret language – which when put with his technical mastery, demonstrates that Daws has lost none of his ability to tantalize and intrigue.
