What is a ZOO

Is a facility in which animals are confined within enclosures, displayed to the public, and in which they may also be bred.

Advantages Animals have their own special needs in every kind most

people think they live cages but that is not true.

It will keep the rare species alive and if there were no zoos some if those animals would be extinct right now!!

Good zoos provide an enriched habitat in which the animals are never bored, are well cared-for, and have plenty of space.

Disadvantages Most of them cannot be released back into the wild as they

do not have the skills to hunt/forage for food, so there will end up with a stock of animals that cannot be released into the wild.

Animals protected in zoos are away from their family, and are not in the right habitat.

It is much easier to find a zoo where animals are harassed and abused than to find a zoo which treats its animals with the respect they deserve.
