A Lust For Life!Kirk Douglas celebrated his milestone birthday with a bash at The Beverly Hills Hotel in LA, California.

He was joined at the party by his wife Anne Buydens Douglas, 97, and 150 friends and family.

The Lust for Life star looked over the moon when his son Michael and Catherine each flanked him and planted some big smooches on either side of his head.

'At the point in his life where he's faced adversity, losing a son, having a helicopter crash, having a stroke, and what he's accomplished in this third act in his life, I find quite extraordinary,' son Michael told the guests.

Cleft-chinned, steely-eyed and virile star of international cinema who rose from being "the ragman's son" to become a bona fide superstar, Kirk Douglas, was born Issur Danielovitch Demsky, in Amsterdam, New York, in 1916. His parents, Bryna (Sanglel) and Herschel Danielovitch, were Jewish immigrants from Chavusy, Mahilyow Voblast (now in Belarus).

Kirk Douglas, 100, who is hailed as the last of Hollywood's golden age, says he feels 'lonely' now that all his actor friends are gone.

Page 23: Kirk Douglas: 100

'I feel lonely': Douglas admitted that he feels lonely without old Hollywood friends Burt Lancaster and Sir Laurence Olivier, pictured above along with Janette Scott in 1958 on the set of The Devil's Disciple.

They're all gone: Lancaster was known for his role in From Here to Eternity and Judgment at Nuremberg, while the English actor Olivier found fame after his role in Spartacus.
