2016 NIST NNMI Competition
Introduction
On February 19, 2016, NIST released a Federal Funding Opportunity (FFO) to establish andoperate one or more National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) Institutes. Thiscompetition is a twostage process, comprised of a preapplication followed by a full applicationfor those invited to continue.
As an opentopic competition, NIST will accept applications for a proposed Institute in any area ofadvanced manufacturing so long as it is not duplicative. That means that the application does notduplicate the technical scope and programs of federally funded Institutes within the NationalNetwork for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI), or technical focus area(s) that are identifiedwithin any inprogress Institute funding opportunity announced by a federal agency.
