Our Team
u As students at Binghamton University’s School of Management, we hope to serve as role models for the youth of the Binghamton community by sharing our knowledge and experiences.

Our Vision
u Be a Healthy You will educate elementary students of the Binghamton City School District through a fun and interactive program that encourages children to adopt healthy lifestyles. u Since eating habits generally begin at home, we plan to
improve the eating habits of families by focusing on developing children's’ knowledge of nutrition and exercise.

The Bigger Picture

Phase 1: Implementation
u Our team will visit the school to introduce the Be a Healthy You program to students in first through third grade.
u After a kid-friendly presentation on nutrition and healthy exercise, students will receive Be a Healthy You wristbands as they “promise” to be healthy by signing a large banner.
The Coloring Book
u Each student will receive a coloring book created by our team that provides nutritional information and an innovative meal log. u Children will draw the
food they eat for each meal in a blank plate.
u Parents/Guardians must sign every page.
Phase 2: Continuous Education
u One week after introducing the program, we follow up with students to review their eating habits.
u Students will receive a custom Dinner Menu to give to their parents.
u The Dinner Menu features: u Quick and healthy dinner meals u Coupons for healthy items at
local restaurants
Phase 3: Culminating Event
u We will host a “field day” as a concluding ceremony to celebrate the students’ completion of the Be a Healthy You program. u Parents, local restaurants, a motivational
speaker, and Binghamton students will be invited to attend and participate in a day filled with sports, wellness, and healthy food.
u Children who have completed the program will receive a medal featuring our program’s logo to serve as a reminder to continue eating healthy.

Sustainability
u Our current cost projections will allow for the program to be financially sustainable for 4 years with the potential $10,000 grant from Ernst & Young.
u To raise capital in the future, we plan to: u Request donations and sponsorships from local
businesses for advertisement space. u Produce the nutritional coloring books to promote and
potentially sell to schools nationwide.
