Etizolam Tablets (Etilaam) possesses amnesic, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, hypnotic, sedative and skeletal muscle relaxant properties. It is used as a treatment for neurological conditions such as anxiety and sleep disorders.

Storage Instructions

Etizolam Tablets (Etilaam) have to be stored at controlled room temperature i.e. from 20C to 25C (68F to 77F) with excursions permitted between 15 to 30C (59 to 86F). Keep this as well as all other medicines away from children and pets.

Etizolam can increase the risk of drowsiness, ataxia (problems with movement, balance and speech) and disturbances of consciousness if taken with neuroleptics,antidepressants, antihistamines, analgesics, antiepileptics or other similar prescribed medications.Avoid mixing with alcohol.Do not drive or operate machinery. Be aware that tolerance and dependency can develop quickly.Avoid using this medicine if you have any history of benzodiazepine addiction.

Anxiety disorders associated with depression: 1 mg two to three times a day (maximum 3 mg per day)

For panic disorder (associated with agoraphobia): 0.5 mg two times per day (maximum 1 mg per day)

For insomnia: 1 mg to 2 mg once daily before bedtime

The dosage of Etilaam tablets (Etizolam) is given below:

A 1 mg dose of Etizolam is approximately equivalent to a 10 mg dose of Diazepam (Valium) or a 1 mg dose of Alprazolam (Xanax)

Contraindications

Etilaam is contraindicated in patients with a hypersensitivity to Etizolam or any other component of this medication. Etilaam is contraindicated in patients with severely impaired hepatic function. Also contraindicated in patients with increased eye pressure, coma, sleep disorder, porphyria and severe lung disease.Etilaam is contraindicated during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Etizolam side effects can include Decrease in energy, Decreased heart rate, Impaired coordination, Sleepiness, Respiratory depression, Blurred vision, Yawning, Constricted pupils, Decreased appetite, Nausea and vomiting, Muscle relaxation, Dry mouth, Headache, Involuntary eye closure and rebound insomnia (prolonged use).

A person who has overdosed can appear extremely drunk, with slurred speech, blurry vision and a stumbling gait. He may be unable to give basic information about himself, such as his name, the date or his location. Other signs of a potential Etizolam Tablets (Etilaam) overdose include:Slow breathing, Slow heart rate, Staggering or stumbling, falling down, Double vision, Confused speech, Amnesia and Vomiting.
