Generic Orlistat (Obelit by Intas) is used for obesity
management including weight loss and weight maintenance along with
a reduced-calorie diet. Obelit capsules are also used to reduce the
risk for weight regain after prior weight loss. This medicine is
usually used for obese patients with an initial body mass index
(BMI) of 30 or more.

Generic Orlistat (Obelit Capsules) have to be stored at
controlled room temperature i.e. 25C (77F) with excursions
permitted between 15 to 30C (59 to 86F). Keep this as well as all
other medicines away from children and pets.

Generic Orlistat capsules have drug interactions and can
decrease vitamin absorption. Take a multivitamin supplement that
contains fat - soluble vitamins to ensure adequate nutrition
Rare cases of severe liver injury with hepatocellular necrosis
or acute hepatic failure have been reported.

Patients may develop increased levels of urinary oxalate
following treatment with Obelit Capsules. Monitor renal function in
patient s at risk for renal insufficiency. Substantial weight loss
can increase the risk of cholelithiasis. Exclude organic causes of
obesity (eg, hypothyroidism) before prescribing Obelit Capsules.
Gastrointestinal events may increase when Generic Orlistat (Obelit
Capsules) is taken with a diet high in fat

Contraindications
Obelit Capsules are contraindicated in patients with a
hypersensitivity to Orlistat or any other component of this
medication. Other contraindications include pregnancy, patients
with chronic malabsorption syndrome and patients with
cholestasis.

Single doses of 800 mg Orlistat Capsules (Obelit) and multiple
doses of up to 400 mg three times a day for 15 days have been
studied in normal weight and obese subjects without significant
adverse findings. Additionally, Generic Orlistat doses of 240 mg
three times a day have been administered to obese patients for 6
months without a significant increase in adverse findings.

the patient be observed for 24 hours. Based on human and animal
studies, any systemic effects attributable to the lipase-inhibiting

Pregnancy Category X. Since weight loss offers no potential benefit
