The characters of B. clausii

Heat resistance of B. clausii spore. The spores were suspended in PBS buffer and incubated at various temperatures for 20 minutes before viable count. A half of the viable count at room temperature is remained at 90oC.

The time course of B. clausii spore stored at room temperature. More than half of the viable count is remained after 2 years.

Acid resistance of B. clausii spore. The spores were suspended in low pH buffers to mimic the pH of intestinal tract for 8 hours. The remained living spores were estimated by viable count. More than half of the viable count is remained at pH 2.
