INDUCTION PROCESS The term “induction” is generally used to describe the process whereby the employee adjusts and acclimatise to their jobs and working environment. The purpose of our induction is to ensure the effective integration of staff into and across the company for the benefit of both parties. Research has shown that the induction process increases staff retention.

General Safety

Employers and employees have a duty of care to provide a healthy and safe environment under Occupational Health and Safety regulations.Employers need to ensure all employees are aware of OH&S responsibilities. Seminar’s and training session’s is a compulsory part of you employment. This will be a half day event every three months.

Personal Safety ProcedureUnderstand what discrimination or harassment means under the relevant legislation.All employers and employees are entitled to a fair go, under no circumstances do you have to suffer or put up with discrimination in the workplace.As your employer it is my duty to act on any received complaints and will enforce correct procedures are followed.

A comprehensive procedure covers all injury, evacuation and discrimination in the OH&S manual. All appropriate forms available from the OH&S Supervisor.

Risk Management

• Employers and employees should always be aware of injuries. • All injuries to be reported and appropriate form completed.• Evaluation procedure to ensure accident should not recur• Implementation of new strategies• Follow up and report on findings

Make yourself aware of risk, here are a few common ones – RSI – Paper cuts – Neck injuries - Back injuries – Eye strain – Trips - Falls – Noise – Stress What do you need to do to eliminate some or all of these, take care and implement short break move around a little and follow the exercises routine in the OH&S manual.

Evacuation Plan

• Know what the evacuation procedure is

• Know who your safety office is (He/she is in charge)

• Follow evacuations instructions (He/she will designate certain tasks)

• Leave to designated safe area (Make this area known to you. This area is located

outside the building and is clearly marked on evacuation plan located in foyer

• A detailed plan of premises is also displayed in the foyer which includes - all fire extinguisher – first aid kits – emergency exits – evacuation points.
