Bellevue Hospital - Staff Nurse Emergency (AES) Room June 2014- November 2014 Conscious Sedation procedures, e.g. administration of Propofol for a dislocated shoulder and administration of Ketamine and Propofol for an open fracture. Assisted with intubation, medication nurse i.e., responsible for the safe labeling, transferring, and administration of Rocuronium and Succinylcholine Safely carried out blood transfusions Rotating RN on STEMI team - setting up the hemodynamically monitoring, i.e. BP cuff, Heart monitor, Pulse ox, Temp. Served as medication nurse i.e., administration and evaluation of Morphine, Oxygen, Nitroglycerin, and Aspirin. Rotating RN on stroke team - spoke to partners or witnesses to establish time of the onset of symptoms in order to establish the probability of TPA therapy, restocking of supplies after usage. Managed 20-30 different cases daily, including prisoners, drug seekers, homeless, heart attacks, strokes, amputations, seizures, MS, meningitis, HIV complications, lesions, necrosis, maggot removal, wound care as well as for patients with abdominal aortic aneurisms and other very high mortality illnesses. Safely, and effectively administered many combinations of antibiotics and other medications, with prioritizing, calculating, and time management skills. Administered flu shots to the staff on my previous unit. Evaluated patient care needs, prioritized treatment, and maintained patient flow. Provided quality-nursing care in accordance with hospitals policies, and procedures.
