Policy context o  Ginsberg is part of Commitment 6 of the Scottish Government’s

Mental Health Strategy 2012-2015:

o  Commitment 6: During the period of the Mental Health Strategy we will develop a Scotland-wide approach to improving mental health through new technology in collaboration with NHS 24.

o  Our goal is to support the grander vision of a future where every Scottish citizen who experiences distress has a range of interventions available to them.

Page 8: Ginsberg: "Improving mental health and wellbeing through new technologies"

Who are we trying to reach? o  Ginsberg is a pre-clinical

intervention o  For people with low mood,

mild-to-medium stress, anxiety, depression

o  Our focus is on ‘everyday stresses’ that people won’t see their GP about

Page 9: Ginsberg: "Improving mental health and wellbeing through new technologies"

Design principles o  Build something engaging and ‘sticky’ that helps users identify the

triggers for stress in their lives

o  Create a safe place for people to become more self-aware, to externalise, reflect and validate how they feel.

o  Build something that doesn’t judge, label or diagnose the people who use it

o  Create a completely confidential, private and secure space

o  Build something that integrates seamlessly into the lives of our users
