Background The City Council approved the plans and specification and authorized the advertisement for bidsfor the new ice arena and Community Center renovations on October 20, 2015. The CityCouncil determined that the project will be funded utilizing tax abatement bonds. The Councilauthorized the hiring of a Construction Manager, RJM Construction, for this project and to workwith 292 Design Group to develop a number of bid packages.

DiscussionOn December 1, 2015 the City received a total of one hundred eight bids for twenty-six bidcategories. Two of the bid categories will be rebid at a later date due to cost and/or number ofbids received. RJM has completed the review of the bids and have conducted a scope reviewwith the apparent low bidders. RJM is recommending the award of contracts to the followinglow bidders. A letter from RJM with the recommendations is attached.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE SHAKOPEE ICE ARENA AND COMMUNITY

CENTER IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. PR2015-3

WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Construction of the Shakopee Ice Arena and Community Center Improvements, Project No. PR2015-3, bids were received for twenty six bid categories, opened and tabulated according to law; and,

WHEREAS, RJM Construction was hired by the City as the projects construction manager; and,

WHEREAS, RJM Construction is recommending the award of contracts to the apparent lowest responsible bidders of each bid category;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA:
