Yahoo is known as a search engine, which makes it the perfect for bringing news articles from around the app to your pocket.

Yahoo News Digest provides a definitive summary of all the important, need-to-know news. Digests are delivered twice a day. Each story is created from multiple sources, known as “Atoms”, including key quotes, images, videos, maps, infographs and Wikipedia, etc.

• The limited content and twice daily delivery schedule.

• It takes a novel and restrained approach in dealing with information overload or what I’ve heard called “info-besity”.

• News Digest uses a mix of algorithms and human editors to select and summarize just nine top or important news stories (categorized) and push those to out twice daily —morning and evening newspaper delivery (8am and 6pm).

Suggestions: Extend the range of sources.

Few people know about this app. Yahoo hasn’t put much emphasize on it.

Suggestions: Raise product awareness by proper promotion.
