"If you think you're too small to have an impact,
try going to bed with a mosquito in the room."
- Anita Roddick, Founder of Body Shop

How “news” can spread these days
Micromedia
“I alone cannot change the world,
but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”
― Mother Teresa
Spinning the WEB of goodwill…
Adapted from the Dragonfly Effect
Develop a clear goal. There is elegance in simplicity.1
•FOCUS
Reverse the rules. How might others might address the challenge? Do the opposite. 2
•GRAB ATTENTION
Tell a good (truthful) story. Tell stories that connect on an emotional level. 3
•ENGAGE
Design for collaboration.Enable others to contribute and choose their own weapon.4
•TAKE ACTION
Drop a stone in a bucket and the
ripples radiate out.
FINAL THOUGHTS…
Most revolutions are sparked by the actions of a few ordinary people.
A personal request:
1) Invite us to share our story to other organizations and help us spread our story
2) Support our dream to help all kids who swim to school in 12 months
3) Buy a copy of Readers Digest’s October 2011 issue4) Vote for us to be the Liberal Project at
