History & Introduction• was founded in March 2006 by Sam Tarantino(CEO), Josh

Greenberg, Andrés Barreto when they were undergraduates at the University of Florida

• First two years paid downloadable music service (P2P network called “Sharkbyte”)

• In 2008 click and play songs on the site without having to download an application

• in 2009 revised : interface, customizable site themes, drag-and-drop editing of playlists

• 2010 rewritten for HTML5, music player continued to use Adobe Flash

• 2012 presented in full HTML5 player
