New Horizons Partnership provides a comprehensive range of supports and services to individuals with intellectual disabilities through a network of community based projects in the North West of Ireland

Specialise in 4 Key Areas of Operational Activity

Leading Provider of Learning Resources

• A series of multi media learning resources designed to teach essential skills in the areas of work and independent travel

• Training focuses on the development of practical and life-orientated skills that students will actually need in order to work and travel

Multi Media Based Learning Resources

• Designed specifically for transition students and individuals with intellectual disabilities (work readiness, travel, vocational and life skills ‘learning’)

• Suitable for individuals who have low levels of numeracy/literacy

• Support different learning styles and modes (includes text/photographs, computer-based interactive exercises, videos, animations)

Introducing the Independent Travel Training Programme

• A complete training package that addresses the whole issue of independent travel

• Developed for any individual with low literacy levels who has limited independent travel skills and road safety awareness

• It is 100% trainer led and uses pictures, animations, sounds and videos to support teaching and make it fun to use and easy to understand

Travel Training Pack contains

• Student workbook with 12 activities

• Detailed Trainer’s notes with individualsession plans for each of the 12 activities• Animation station to illustrate theory

• Sound bytes to represent sounds that you might hear when you are out and about

How The Programme Works

The programme is accredited in the UK by the Open College Network so students can gain certification that recognises the travel skills

they have developed.
