Company Overview AW Hydrographic provides survey services that allow you to schedule surveys to suit your reporting and operational requirements.

The use of aircraft to acquire data removes the safety risk associated with operating small boats in shallow water or in areas that are environmentally sensitive, capturing data quickly and efficiently. Whether you want to monitor coastal erosion, plan new infrastructure or update existing mapping, our Services will provide you confidence with up-to-date bathymetric, topographic models and aerial images.

Our Vision We are committed to providing outstanding service and technological excellence. It is our vision to be one of the world’s leading and innovative airborne LiDAR bathymetry and mapping service providers. We are committed to leading the market in the implementation and use of new LiDAR technologies and development of new services and products where they will deliver additional value to customers and enhance their decision making.

QHSE AW Hydrographic operates an Integrated Management System based on the principles of ISO 9001 (2008). A comprehensive project management approach is employed on all projects.

AW Hydrographic seeks to protect the environment, the health and safety of our employees, clients, subcontractors and others who may be involved with our projects through careful management and review of our processes and procedures. We work to minimize our impact on the environment by integrating environmental management into all facets of our business complying with all relevant environmental regulations. We ensure that we conduct all of our operations in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations and requirements. Through a process of continuous improvement and employee training we hope to achieve and demonstrate continuing improvement across all aspects of Health and Safety.

Survey Equipment AW Hydrographic operates the Chiroptera II Airborne Bathymetric LiDAR capable of collecting both bathymetric, topographic LiDAR and Imagery Data.

The Chiroptera II simultaneously captures full waveform 35 kHz bathymetric data and up to 500 kHz topographic data. It also incorporates the industry-leading 80-megapixel four-band Leica RCD30 medium-format camera, NovAtel SPAN GNSS-IMU subsystem, Leica MissionPro mission planning software and Leica FlightPro flight navigation software. The scanner package is installed in the Leica PAV100 stabilized mount to reduce the number of flight lines needed, especially in turbulent weather.

The Chiroptera II is part of AHAB's modular sensor design. A deep 10 kHz bathymetric channel can be added if required. In addition, a second red laser can replace the shallow green channel to allow the sensor to be operated as a 1 MHz topographic lidar.

Services Aerial Mapping The Chiroptera is capable of capturing very high resolution seabed, topography and ortho-imagery in a relatively short timeframe.

Consultancy With over 50 years’ experience in Marine Surveying and Navigation, the company principals are able to provide consultancy services for the design and specification of surveys, survey planning, technical writing, training and maritime matters.

Project Management With expertise across the Marine Survey Sector our personnel are highly experienced in the management of single and multi-sensor surveys.

Survey Control Through the use of GNSS and the various techniques and equipment available, we are able to establish high accuracy control stations for your project removing uncertainty with respect to co-ordinates and datums.

Tidal Observations Using the latest equipment we are able to establish and collect tidal data in support of marine surveys and the establishment/confirmation of local height datums.

Hydrographic Surveying With experience in single and multibeam surveys we are able to offer vessel based surveys as a separate service on coastal, estuary and inland waterways or as part of an integrated survey with Airborne LiDAR Bathymetry.

Airborne Survey LiDAR Topographic Surveys High accuracy LiDAR surveys. A cost effective method for acquiring topographic information over both small (>50Ha ) and large areas (>1000sqkm). This data can be rapidly processed delivering DSM and DEM Products.

LiDAR Bathymetric Surveys High Accuracy bathymetric surveys delivering 1m resolution products at depths of up to 15m in the right environmental conditions.

Aerial Imagery Using the RCD 30 CIR 80 megapixel camera, high resolution 4 band imagery can be captured which can be processed to provide individual images or high quality colour balanced mosaics.
