Disable Plugins Disable Extension Clear Browsing Data Clear Your Entire Browsing History Clear Specific Items form Your Browsing History Clear Your Browsing History from the New Tab Page Clear Your Browsing History Automatically when Chrome Exits 3. Disable Plugin First you need to open Google Chrome Browser and typeabout:plugins in the address bar. 4. Disable Plugins (cont) Then click on Disable button to disable the plugins that are not useful.Note: Plugin cannot bedeleted oruninstalled, onlydisabled. 5. Disable Extensions Extensions are the small programs available in the Chrome Web Store thatadd extra features and functionality to Chrome.Also apps in Chrome 6. Disable Extension (cont) To access your list of installed extensions and apps Click the wrench icon on the toolbar and select Tools -> Extensions from thedrop-down menu 7. Disable Extension (cont) To disable an extension, click the Enabled check box to the right of theextensions title in the list so there is no check mark in the box. 8. Disable Extension (cont) You can also easily remove any extensions or apps you dont want anymoreby clicking the trash can icon to the right of the Enabled check box. 9. Clear Browsing Data There are 4 ways to clear the browsing data Clear Your Entire Browsing History Clear Specific Items form Your Browsing History Clear Your Browsing History from the New Tab Page Clear Your Browsing History Automatically when Chrome Exits 10. Clear Your Entire Browsing History To clear your entire browsing history, click the wrench icon on the toolbarand select Tools -> Clear browsing data from the drop-down menu. 11. Clear Your Entire Browsing History(cont) In the Clear browsing data dialog, select the items you want to clear andselect a time range from the drop-down list. Click Clear browsing data toclear the selected data. 12. Clear Specific Items from Your Browsing History If you want to delete the history for onlyspecific webpages, click the wrench icon onthe toolbar and select History from the drop-down menu. 13. Clear Specific Items from Your Browsing History Move your mouse over a webpage you want to remove from the history listand select the check box that displays. Once you have selected all thewebpages you want to remove, click Remove selected items. 14. Clear Your Browsing History from the New TabPage The New Tab page displaysthumbnails for the websites youvisit most. You can clear yourbrowsing history by removingthese thumbnails from the NewTab page. To remove a webpage from theNew Tab page, move yourmouse over the thumbnail forthe site and click the X thatdisplays in the upper, rightcorner of the thumbnail. 15. Clear Your Browsing History Automatically whenChrome Exits Earlier in this article, we recommended disabling extensions you dont useto speed up Chrome. However, there is one extension that might be useful.The Click&Clean extension allows you to clear browsing data automaticallywhen you close Chrome. To install Click&Clean, click the link above and then click the Add to Chromebutton on the webpage for the extension. 16. Clear Your Browsing History Automatically whenChrome Exits A confirmation dialog box displaysto make sure you want to install theextension. It also tells you what theextension can access. Click Add tocontinue with the installation. When you click the Click&Cleanbutton, the Main menu displays.There are many tools available inthis extension for maintainingChrome and your computer. Thegray buttons in the middle of themenu provide access to more tools. 17. Clear Your Browsing History Automatically whenChrome Exits To select which types of browsing data to clear when you close Chrome,click the Clear Private Data when Browser Closes tab on the left. Click theplus sign to the left of Chrome in the list on the right. Check the items youwant automatically cleared when you close Chrome. 18.
