The story started like this:

One day, amouselooked

through thecrack in thewall to seethe farmer

and his wifeopen a

package.

He wasdevastatedto discover

it was amousetrap.

The mouse told all hisanimal friends:

“There is a mousetrapin the house!”

The chickensaid, “Mr.

Mouse, I’m sosorry to hear

that, but that’snot my

problem.” Being

charismatic, thechicken said,“I’ll pray for

you…”

The mouseturned to the pig

and told him,“There is a

mousetrap in thehouse!”

The pig said, “I’mso very sorry, Mr.Mouse, but there

is nothing I cando about it.”

The mouseturned to the cow

and said,

“There is amousetrap in the

house!”

The cow said,“Wow, Mr. Mouse.I’m sorry for you,

but it’s not myproblem.”

So, the mouse returned tothe house, dejected.

That very night a sound washeard throughout the house– the sound of a mousetrap

catching its prey.

The farmer’s wifewent out. In the

darkness, she didnot see it.

It was a poisonoussnake whose tailwas caught in the

trap.

The snake bit thefarmer’s wife.

She developed afever. The doctorsaid “She needs

chickensoup.” So the

farmer took hisknife for thesoup’s mainingredient:

Chicken!

But his wife’ssickness

continued. Friends and

neighbors cameto visit. To feed

them, the farmerthought of

serving thempork adobo. So

the pig had to go.

But, alas, thefarmer’s wife did

not getwell… She died.

So many peoplecame for her

funeral. And thefarmer had toslaughter the

cow to feed all ofthem…

The lesson?

Don’t ever say, “It’s none of my business.”

We are indelibly intricatelyconnected with each other.

When our brother is in pain,we should be in pain too.
