Google search works and how it’s algorithms are frequently updated , we need to understand its core mechanism first . Google came into being 3 sep 1998 and since is updated it’s search process & system 100 times. Along with Hummingbird “Google PANDA” and ‘’Google PENGUINE” particularly designed to detect spamming on the web.

Short description on Google Algorithms


# A search engine retrieves information from a website which it does from the html, it is done by the web crawler.

# The pages are then indexed basing upon the data obtained from the html like from meta tags, descriptions, etc. Indexing accelerates the search by reaching to the relevant information as quickly as possible.

# When a user enters a query into a search engine (typically by using keywords) the engine examines its index and provides a listing of best-matching web pages according to its criteria

Google runs on a distributed network of thousands of low-cost computers and can therefore carry out fast parallel processing. Parallel processing is a method of computation in which many calculations can be performed simultaneously, significantly speeding up data processing.

Low quality content Copied or duplicate content Web spamming (cloaking, keyword stuffing)

*After its implementation 80% websites were effected

* Early INSTANT SEARCH was added in 2010.

Google PANDA


Released in April 2012 based on :

Keyword stuffing Spamming links Cloaking Irrelevant links (Paid links)

* Approximate 20% of the total websites were affected.

Google penguin


Released after PANDA and PENGUINE in 2013 focused on :

#Conversational Searches# Google Knowledge Graph# LSI (Latent Semantic Searches)# Social media + Forums (DP) + Relevant Searches

* Hummingbird use GKG, it doesn’t allow other websites on top instead of its own related information.

This method describe how probably PR worked, but never discloses the algorithm.

Its just a hypothesis after PR was put into no effect.

PR algorithm is under patent of Stanford university, Stanford USA. and hence its a bit revealed. but Google never reveals its own algorithms.
