Project templates present tasks and goals on one axis, a time line on the other. Outputs array along a diagonal. First outputs are uppermost, furthest left. Each successive output is diagonally over. Outputs can be grouped by sector or function.

Management charts are limited by space. A single-sentence description "engineering module approved" refers to lots of infor-mation and sub-decisions. A digital template permits a user to expand a detailed summary of chart descriptions. This adds understanding, but not procedural guidance. Sector outputs depend on inputs from the main chart and other sectors. These have structured time-frames, which intersect multiple sectors.

Project time-frames all run on the same clock. They cannot be squeezed into a single chart. Instead, each sector has its own project path. Managers refer to a stack of sector schedules to coordinate paths. 'War rooms' array sector schedules on walls. Database systems store sector schedules for queries. Some people can imagine multiple sector paths in coordinated arrays. Polyfoils digital management visualizes paths for the rest of us.

Polyfoils display relationships through a document's visible structure. It doesn't rely on content format. It's their content-bearing surfaces, geometrically arrayed, that show relationships.

Screenshot of a main page in a project management document. Since Period 3 is in view, that period is highlighted in the sector map. A user clicks on a sector, and it opens in the view window.

A user can also click on the gold symbol above the map. A view of all panels in the period opens. Panels orient vertically. This permits intuitive navigation through time, enabling managers a full grasp of project sequences.

Film/TV productions can be major organizational efforts. Production is based on a script, but each bit of final output requires many different inputs. Each sector has its content formatted to align with a script. A producer or director may have access to all this information, piled high in big folders.

A Polyfoil production script displays the different sector inputs aligned on a uniform horizontal digital plane. Each sector has access to the Polyfoil script, as well as the horizontal material it has a key to. The main script page can have scheduling and reminders for the entire crew.

The heads of production sectors and those in charge gain an overview of the total production.
