THE PATH TO SUCCESSAlexander Chekurov told us the story of his life. As a child

he enjoyed sports. At the age of 12 he succeeded in swimming, soccer, skiing and chess. But as he went blind in his early years, he couldn’t continue playing sports any longer. Only due to his optimism, he resumed training at

the swimming pool of Volgograd . His coach told him that he had a great chance to win the Paralympics.

ACHIEVMENTS A year had passed and

Alexander became a two-time world champion and won two silver medals.

In 2008 he participated in the Paralympics and took the 3rd place.

After two years’ pause he resumed his training and prepared for the London Olympics, where he took the 4th place, behind the third by 0.01 of a second.

And in 2013 Alexander improved his results in the World championship in Canada and climaxed his competitive career by a gold medal.

HOBBIESAlexander has always been

keen on music. He joined a musical group that performed concerts (including charity performances) in different towns of Russia. He is also the author of several songs.

He also likes listening to audio books.Beekeeping is an important part of

Alexander’s life.And his greatest passion is faith in Christ!

MEMORABLE EVENTS OF LIFEThe main events of Alexander’s life were:Conversion to God that helped him to keep

the family together. (Alexander has a wonderful wife and five children).

The beginning of his competitive career.Building a new house which was designed by

Alexander in his head.
