In 2004, Dean won in Badwater Ultramarathon known as "the world's toughest foot race". He ran 135 miles (217 km) across California's Death Valley in 49 °C temperatures (the highest recorded temperatures in the Western Hemisphere being 56.7°C).

Karnazes is called the world's most famous ultramarathon runner. After his U.S. marathon doctors measured the level of creatine phosphokinase in the blood serum of the runner. CPK test shows the level of muscle damage caused by physical activity. While an average athlete’s CPK level is normally 2400, Dean’s test showed only 447. And even more, it was found that in the circulatory system of the runner there is more blood than normally, which helps him to avoid dehydration.

And finally: by some calculations, researchers have found that, in theory, keeping the speed of 160 meters per minute, Karnazes can run forever.

Show your body who's boss! "The human body has limits," says Dean Karnazes. "The human spirit is - unlimited!" Your brain, in other words, your most important muscle.

Life is not a travel to the tomb with a plan to arrive safely in a beautiful and carefully preserved body, but rather the need to pull the ship from the brakes, make the most completely wear out and loudly shout: what kind of riding! Here's what I can!

Dean Karnazes is a motivation figure for me and for other people. He is a very purposeful and hard-working person. I’m convinced that he deserves great respect.
