• The Great Wall Cup of Beijing is an international youth football/soccer tournament organized by Beijing Football Federation. The first tournament is under planning, and will be held during July 25th-31st, 2010 at the Beijing Olympic Sports Center Football Park. This tournament will become an annul event in the future.

• Through the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Beijing showed the world a great impression with passionate people, rich culture, great facilities, and of course more than you can expected. With the rapid economic growth, Beijing is always full of opportunities for everyone to take a trip to visit.

• The Great Wall Cup of Beijing is willing to give young people from all over the world an opportunity through the world most popular sports --Football to experiecne China with much more than just the game itself. Playing games against teams from worldwide, attending culture events such as learn basic Chinese, Kungfu, tour the Great Wall, the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, etc. will be all together to give your team a great experience in the summer of 2010.

Number of players per teamThere is no limit to the number of players in each team. However only five substitutes are allowed in each match. The minimum participate players of a team is 16. All players must be able to show proof of age and identity.

Tournament Format & Games

The tournament format is based on Pools of 3 or 4 teams in Round 1,

played on a league basis, followed by progression into either the A or B

Finals. Teams are divided into groups of 3 or 4 teams, so that each

team plays the other teams once. The first and second team in each

group qualify for “Play-off A”, the other teams in the group for “Play-off

B”. The third and fourth in the group will also play against each other for

ranking. All teams will play at least 4 games, and as many as 5, 6 or 7

games. The tournament is played under all applicable FIFA or China

FA rules. All players must be insured, both for games and leisure time.

• Welcome Cocktail Party for Officials

• The welcome cocktail party is for team leaders, coaches and officials. During the party, the tournament organization committee will make few announcement regard to the tournament. Then, everyone enjoys drinking some special prepared wine, snacks and informally meet with each other.

• Opening Ceremony

• The Tournament will have a Ceremonial Opening of which should participate by all delegations. Teams all get together to share the exciting moment. The Opening Ceremony will proceed as follows:Gathering of the delegations, entrance and parade; raising of the China and event flags accompanied by the national anthem;

• Declaration of the opening of the games; recitation of the FIFA Fair Play code; announcement of the events and finally, one or two opening matches valid towards group play in the championship, to be defined.

• Time and venue will be noticed to each team leader beforehead.

• Closing Banquet and Awarding• The closing banquet will combined with a awarding ceremony at the last day of the tournament.

All teams will get together to enjoy a wonderful dinner, watch shows and receive prizes for the each categories.

• “ChinaTouch”• “ChinaTouch” is a workshop to introduce Chinese culture by learning basic Chinese language,

learning how to writing Chinese calligraphy and painting, practice Chinese Kung Fu with our Kung Fu master, making traditional Chinese craft for those international youngsters who are coming to China for the first time. The workshop will be in the hotel lobby during the whole tournament, everybody free to join in during their spare time.

• “Meet The Future Star”• “Meet The Future Star” is a program to provide an opportunity for those talented players to get

attention and awareness by professional coaches, scouts, player agents from China and other Asian countries. The tournament organization will invite coaches from professional clubs, player agents worldwide to find Future Stars during the tournament. A face to face meeting between players and those professionals also be set up for a deep conversation.

• “The Great Wall Cup Talent Show” (To be confirmed)• “Show your Talent without football”. Every team will prepare a show or performance and show it

in front everyone. It could be a song, a dance, an opera or whatever you like. Let’s share the difference culture and enjoy the moment.

Tournament VenueBeijing Olympic Sports Center Football Park

Most of the games will be played in the Football park of Beijing Olympic Sports Center. The center was built in 1990 for the 11th Asian Game. It located in the north of Beijing and connected with the National Stadium, Birds Nest and Water Cube. From Beijing Capital International Airport to the center is only 25 minutes. It’s the closest and best sports training facility in the city. The center is completely build for use of sports

teams, and many national teams such as basketball, volleyball, handball often use the training facilities there. The Football Park has 4 astroturf football pitches which will be used during the tournament, Stadium, Swimming hall, Football Training Center, Hockey Center, Baseball training are all in the center with a walking distance to each other. After the renovation from the 2008 Beijing Olympic, it ready for different sports teams from all over the world come to China.

Hotel Accommodation A

“Aoti GongYu” which is the Chinese name of the hotel located in the Beijing Olympic Sports Center. It’s a 4-star hotel owned by the national sports bureau and specialized for sports players from Chinese national teams. The hotel has more than 300 rooms and all rooms are in good condition. The price per person in double room, breakfast, lunch and dinner are in the hotel. From hotel to training pitches is only 5min walk. The package will be a little more expensive if teams choose to stay at this hotel. This hotel will be the “HOME” hotel of the Great Wall Cup of Beijing.
