While a lot of you started running Atlassian on a server under your desk, by 2011 it was now used by many teams

- and it was how work got done in your software teams and in many cases across your organization.

CloudServerData CenterPlatform Commitment\

We offer multiple deployment options, because we want you to choose the best one for your organization.

There is no pressure from Atlassian to move to the Cloud. Youll see us often introduce new features in cloud, iterate on those features, and then bring the key, polished features that our customers prioritize into Server.

We are passionate about our Server and Data Center products and customers.

Were committed to addressing the challenges our self-managed customers face.

Its important to call out that, like most progressive ISVs, were constantly looking for ways to improve how we deliver our solutions. Our drivers are probably very similar to yours.

So where possible, we look for ways to move to lower the cost of delivery of our production systems, as well as our dev-test environments. Working with AWS helps us to move from capex-intensive data centers towards much more agile cloud infrastructure. This in turn means we can build and innovate more quickly and rapidly deploy new products in a highly agile fashion.

This helps us stay focused on the solutions were taking to market, and building the best platform for developer and team collaboration, rather than wasting cycles managing infrastructure.

But our relationship with AWS extends well beyond simply using the AWS platform to delivery our solutions or for dev/test environments.

We saw very early on that many AWS customers were also Atlassian customers, and that actually we have a great joint value proposition with AWS.

If AWS is building the best cloud, and Atlassian is building the best tools for agile and highly collaborative development teams, then together we have a really strong joint story about helping agile development teams build for cloud.

So, for the last few years, weve been working with the Amazon Partner Network to build out that joint value proposition. The APN has been instrumental in helping raise the profile of Atlassian in AWSs community, as well as helping AWS build its profile in our customer community.

.

As an example of this, in the last coupe of months, weve released a number of AWS Quick Starts for Jira Software Data Center, Jira Service Desk Data Center and BitBucket Data Center.

These products are aimed at enterprise customers, and because weve designed in things like High Availability and Elasticity, they have a reasonably complex footprint. We worked with the AWS partner team to jointly develop the cloud formation templates and guidance that allows our joint customers to simply press-button deploy an entire best-practices data center product stack into AWS in a matter of minutes. THis makes it easy for a customer or partner to get started with a best-practices installation of our software in the AWS cloud.

Were also running a campaign, co-funded with the Amazon Partner Network service credits, to encourage customers to trial these data center products in AWS. So in this way, were leveraging the people and the resources of the APN to drive joint outcomes.

We have lots more planned on this so stay tuned :)

The cloud will help fuel this growth.

As Mike mentioned at last years AtlasCamp, the number of customers in cloud surpassed server. At current growth rates, by 2018 we could have twice as many customers in the cloud.

Build and grow your business via the Atlassian ecosystem

This is the start slide for the MP pitch, to follow (I think) the infinity sign slide.

So as an audience of ISVs, we can have two conversations on how you might work with Atlassian. One obviously is to leverage our products to help your teams build in a highly agile and collaborative way and we would love you to do this of course.

But the second way we can work together is leveraging Atlassian as a platform. A key part of our strategy as an ISV is to not try and boil the ocean, or build for every single end-customer requirement. Instead, what we have done is created a set of APIs and frameworks that allow our add-on partners to build integrations and extensions that dramitcally improve the richness of the Atlassian solution stack.

And a good way to get a view of this is to check out the Atlassian Marketplace.

And they fill it neatly from within our product.Have now grown to be one of the top three vendors in Atlassian Marketplace, transacting $20M in sales through us so far.

Build Atlassian add-ons with AWS

, APN AWS AWS API . Java, Node.js, C# .

AWS , . .

Just while were talking about building add-ons, one of the things were working on with AWS through the APN is a set of blueprints that will help you build add-ons for Atlassian that take advantage of AWS Lambda and API Gateway to create serverless back-ends. Were quite excited about this, because it means our add-on community will be able to rapidly build highly available, highly scalable add-ons that can be implemented in Java, Node.js, C# and other languages, without having to deploy any servers at all.

Look out for more details on this on the Atlassian developer pages in Q1 next year.

Build add-ons, make money. Its that simple.
