Future is going : Cloud, Mobile and multi-devices True : Continous development. The Cisco Spark service lives in the Cisco® Collaboration Cloud. The application was built to enable today’s teams to move faster and deliver greater results by bringing everything and everyone together. It is your business messaging app, conferencing solution, and phone system all in one. Spark changes the communications experience from silo’ed to integrated. Instead of just calling or instant messaging, Spark makes persistent business messaging the center experience of all your communications and where all of your work lives. You are never more than one click from initiating and receiving voice and video calls, joining meetings, scheduling meetings, and more, all with the historical context of team and one-to-one interactions including shared files and persistent messages. Jabber diffirentiated : Jabber click-to-call. Skype for business retiré Interoperability with Video endpoints Easy AD integration Outlook and Sharepoint integration Select features and functionalities across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android devices, adding many features limit the experience. MSFT marche mieux et offre plus de feature sur Windows platform. Les autres lag. Persistent group chats and calling work only on-premises for Windows users. Low quality experience due to different clients across different devices and operating systems Multiple collaboration space technologies: Groups, Yammer, Team Sites, Persistent Chat, SharePoint, Talko, Send, Skype for Business, and more. Skype for Business has different and isolated systems federating with each other, leading to many gaps in capabilities and dependencies on clients, servers, configurations Expérience : C’est les features parity que MSFT n’a PAS entre ses clients. Here are some business imperatives we have heard from collaboration buyers recently: Reduce costs Increase efficiency of operations Grow the business—either with new solutions or by expanding to new markets Improve customer satisfaction and client intimacy Become more agile Win in an increasingly competitive market (for customers and for talent) These are just some of the top business challenges a customer may be facing today. Based on your customer relationship you may be able to add or ask for them to discuss others. Ask how collaboration solutions are addressing these (or not) today. Leaders across the globe agree: Collaboration is integral to addressing business imperatives. You need to consider your collaboration investments in the context of those imperatives to determine what additional investments you’re going to make going forward.

Spark Message is designed for teamwork. It’s not only an Enterprise-grade messaging application, but it enables teams to work together, sharing content and desktops from any location and device, seamlessly and persistently. Message also becomes the launch point into the real-time services of voice, video and conferencing, and can be downloaded from the app store to create opportunities with your customers. A message can also easily be escalated to a voice or video call with the entire team or a 1 to 1 conversation, with just the click of a button. Use Spark to create deal rooms. This shows the value to the customer during the sales process – faster time to resolutions on questions, access to the right resources, and persistence for history.

Spark App

Less email. More agility. Better teamwork.

Communicate from where your work lives

Presenter
Presentation Notes
In March 2015, we launched Cisco Spark as a team collaboration app from the Cisco Collaboration Cloud. At that time, we promised this was just the beginning of journey and much more was to come… Since then, we’ve leveraged that modern cloud platform that serves as the foundation of the Spark team collaboration app to rethink collaboration and build a complete Collaboration as a Service (CaaS) offering.  Extending the app-centric, mobile first thinking that first created the Cisco Spark app has enabled us to deliver a  far more complete integrated service offering that encompasses messaging, meetings, and calling  all from the Cisco Collaboration Cloud....simply known as Cisco Spark. Cisco Spark app - an app that a user of Cisco Spark accesses on their smart phone, via a browser, or via a dedicated client on their Mac or Windows PC. The Cisco Spark app gives the user the ability to access, consume, and control the Message, Meeting, and Call capabilities of the Cisco Spark service, depending on the user’s license entitlement The experience centers around secure virtual “rooms” with viral and simple mobile messaging as the foundations. However, just like in the business world, these “rooms” are not single purpose. Teams can also share files and have face to face meetings, making Cisco Spark *the* place to message, share, and meet with different teams, all in one place. Most importantly, however, is that the Cisco Spark experience can be deployed and managed by IT teams to add security and manageability. Product Walkthrough The Cisco Spark application brings your teams together in a place that makes it easy to keep people and work connected. Instantly create workspaces, called “rooms,” with another person or with a group, so it’s easier to reach decisions. Rooms come equipped with persistent and secure messaging, file sharing, and face-to-face meetings with screen sharing. You’ll feel like your team is always together, wherever you go. Filters and notifications quickly surface need-to-know information for you and your teammates. Search for people to connect instantly or for past messages to revisit key information anytime. Unify workstreams with easily configured integrations between Cisco Spark and the other services you and your teams use. Teams move faster and deliver better results when everyone and everything comes together. Key Features Use unlimited workspaces called “rooms” to consolidate/streamline team communications were you can:   Send messages and share files with the team or another person to keep projects moving Search across your workspaces to find key information anytime Start face-to-face meetings with screen sharing to accelerate decision-making Unify your work streams with easily configured integrations between Cisco Spark and the other services you use, such as Zendesk, Trello, GitHub, and many more Work confidently with end-to-end encryption that keeps your messages and files secure in the cloud Use room filters to control how you view and get notified of information Create team rooms for your upcoming meetings with one click to get the conversation going Participate from a mobile device, a computer, or even a browser for anywhere, anytime collaboration   Key Benefits Increase productivity when your teamwork is streamlined and searchable in one place. Build stronger relationships with messaging as the new baseline for your business interactions. Be more efficient in meetings when the whole team is already caught up on the latest thinking. Make decisions faster when you are just a tap away from anyone, on any device.   Bottomline: Less email. More agility. Better teamwork.

Our teams are scattered everywhere. Technology brings us together, but not always in a way that is centered around the people we work with on urgent, time sensitive projects. Spark breaks down the barriers to collaboration and makes it incredibly simple to get to work with anyone. As easy as sending an e-mail, get everyone together into a room by simply adding names or e-mail addresses. New users receive an e-mail to download Spark and enter the room. View https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZWvFAAaTQU to see how this works. Teams enabling user to create and join virtual teams and add “open” rooms for their teams. Users can select from list of rooms which room conversation they Like to participate in. Under team menu, you can see list of teams you are participating in, then you can also add more users to team, create new rooms and manage Administrators for the selected teams. After the rooms are created under the team structure, other team members can simply join the room by clicking on the join button, Without the needs to be invited by other participants already in the room. Spark delivers an easier way to work with all your teams. In a single experience, easily access all your team work spaces. The room list is searchable and is sorted in chronological order based on most recent activity so you can easily stay up to date. Set up favorites for quicker navigation or use sorting to show recent, unread or favorites in a single view. When you connect your calendar on your mobile device, you can keep track of all your upcoming business meetings in the Cisco Spark Meetings tab. WebEx meetings can be joined from this tab with the press of a button. You can also create a room around any of your listed calendar entries so you and your teams have a place to work together before and after the meeting. The new room will be created with the same name as your calendar entry and include all the people from it.

Improved productivity is the nirvana of any good collaboration tool. And even though many products today greatly reduce our project cycles, we are still clamoring for better, more intuitive user experiences that enable us to quickly get our work done together. With Cisco Spark view shared files instantly without having to download them. This helps users get to the important details immediately, especially while on the go. Know that time you were in a physical room and someone asked you to take a picture of all the cool stuff on the whiteboard and after you do it just stays on your phone? Well, now you can take that pic and immediately post it to your virtual whiteboard in any of your Spark rooms. While mobile, simply tap to add a new or old photo or even a file right from your cloud storage sites. Drag and drop or upload a file on desktop and Web. Looking for a great idea a team member had awhile back? Now it’s easy to find with search. Revisit key information anytime across messages, rooms and people. If you need to call someone’s attention to a topic or question, Spark has got you covered. Use @mentions to get team members to respond fast. Getting to what’s important is easy with filters. See your important rooms, unread messages and @mentions. Spark is truly the one place for you to work for many reasons, but most especially because your files and messages are stored in your rooms making it easy to review the history of previous content. When necessary, messages and files you post can be deleted later. Finally, Spark is available on virtually any device and even from a browser – with an easy to use and consistent experience across all of the unique applications. View https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrZhyeza8Ls for more information on file sharing in Cisco Spark.

When you’re working together, there are times when seeing other people AND the stuff they are working on is critical. In Spark you can have a 1:1 video call with another person or initiate a meeting in rooms with up to twenty five (25) people (*paid subscription only) to bring everyone together to gain quick alignment. Simultaneously view the active speaker video and screen sharing. During a 1:1 call or team meeting, users can add a guest participant to the call, to add users who may not already be part of a room. These guest participants do not have access to the history of shared messages and files. You can scan a meeting roster indicating who has already joined a meeting by displaying their profile photos. During a meeting, “multi-task” by sending messages and sharing files while you talk. Drop in a note about the presentation or document you’re working on so you can easily remember the key points later. Finally, meetings can be joined anytime while in progress enabling you to participate when the time is right for you. You can also utilize this feature to shift locations in the event you need to move a call between devices. Keep your team’s momentum going after a meeting by transitioning the conversation to Cisco Spark. When a Webex meeting finishes, the host will be prompted to start a room with everyone who attended or was on the original invite list for the WebEx meeting (**requires basic or advanced meetings). Need to take a meeting on the go? Not only can you start a meeting on any mobile device, but you can easily transition from your computer to your phone while the meeting is still going. Now your meetings follow you anywhere.

Privacy and Security of Content Only you and the people you work with should be able to read what you share. The Cisco Spark™ service uses end-to-end encryption with algorithms also used in solutions protecting national security systems so that only the intended recipients can read shared messages and files. Additionally, Cisco Spark service protects the confidentiality of shared content by allowing access only to authorized and authenticated recipients. This functionality restricts the viewing of messages and files in Cisco Spark rooms to participants who have authenticated with the service. Unauthorized participants that try using the URL of the room will not be able to see what has been shared.   Cisco Spark Encryption The Cisco Spark service encrypts messages, files, and room names on your device before sending them to the cloud. Thus, content arrives at our servers in encrypted form and is processed (data in use) and stored (data at rest) that way until it is decrypted on the intended recipients’ devices.   We use Secure HTTP (HTTPS) to encrypt data in transit between your device and our servers, which protects the identities of the senders and receivers of the encrypted content.   For real-time media (voice, video, and screen sharing), we encrypt what is shared using the Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP).   User and IT Controls In addition to end-to-end encryption to keep content safe, the Cisco Spark service also offers user- and IT-level features to provide additional security controls (*not included in free). When the teamwork is sensitive, subscribers can lock rooms to moderate who can enter and what is shared. Moderators have the sole ability to add or remove participants, edit the room name, and delete anyone’s shared messages and files. Moderators may also assign co-moderators. Additionally, subscribers see an indicator in rooms where external participants are included, so they can make informed decisions before sharing. IT teams can add features that use existing security policies (Figure 6). Use Single Sign-On (SSO) to require company- approved passwords that adhere to corporate security standards. Sync your corporate employee directory with the Cisco Spark application so that user profiles always matcha valid identity from the directory. Thus, terminations are automatically processed from changes in your directory, helping ensure that former employees lose access to company data in the Cisco Spark solution. Security Specs End-to-end content encryption using Advanced Encryption Standard 256 (AES-256) Transport encryption using Secure HTTP (HTTPS) Audio and video calling encryption using the Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP) Single Sign-On (SSO) to require company-approved authentication with identity providers using the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 and Open Authorization (OAuth) 2.0 protocols. You've already heard us talk about the three main focus areas of the partnership - networking, voice and collaboration. These areas help customers accelerate their mobilization of business-critical workflows, changing how people do their jobs, and increasing productivity and efficiency. Today, we’re unveiling the first set of features our teams have worked on together. We’re optimizing Wi-Fi connectivity, prioritizing business apps, and integrating voice and enabling collaboration. These are three separate features, but they build on each other. So if you want to experience the full potential of what this partnership has to offer, you should use all three together.

For example, Spark’s voice and collaboration integration into iOS will provide huge benefits to a business on its own, but when prioritized in the fast lane, it will perform even better, with faster speeds and more reliability. In the beginning of the presentation, we talked about the opportunity that mobility presents to businesses. Once again, let’s talk about how these partnership features allows your organization to achieve these things: Reimagine the way business works Empower users so they're more productive Engage in completely new ways Increase team-work and efficiencies Reduce cost and complexity

Mobile device management (MDM) is a built-in, lightweight framework — powerful and scalable enough to configure and manage all the iOS devices within an organization. These controls are transparent to the user, and let IT teams seamlessly manage devices without impacting the user experience. A broad range of third-party MDM solutions wirelessly interact with iOS, giving your organization the ability to securely enrol devices in the business environment, wirelessly configure and update settings, monitor policy compliance, deploy apps, query devices, and remotely wipe or lock managed devices — whether the device is owned by the user or owned by the organization.

Our management approach has always been to make it really simple for businesses to centrally manage their iOS devices with MDM. [CLICK] The process is fully secure. [CLICK] We ensure that it’s a process that is completely streamlined. [CLICK] And we make sure that everything that happens to the device is transparent to the user, so they know how their device is being set up. In this way, users are a part of the process and have a role to play, whether the deployment is BYOD or corporate-owned.

The Device Enrolment Program (DEP) also allows you to automate MDM enrolment during the initial setup for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that your organization owns. MDM automatically applies settings and policies to devices as soon as they are enrolled. You can make the enrolment mandatory and non-removable if the device is reset. You can also allow users to skip some of the basic setup steps. And devices can be put into supervised mode during enrolment too.
