Group2- Revitalising Outreach and

Engagement1. Extension

Apart from internet access to geo-spatial information and data there are other methods of engagement with stakeholders

e.g reaching the lowest level user such as the farmer might not be easy but we can have a layered outreach strategy where we work with intermediaries such as:

• Public extension

• Private extension

• NGOs

• CBO

To train the farmers and other users on access, processing and use.

Possible to have offline access through:

• Walking sticks

• Adobe flash

• Transparencies for overlaying

• DVD and CD’s

2. Partnerships and Training

We have to tailor data and information to

target different user categories and

hierarchical levels of attention. Partners

will facilitate outscaling and promotion of

any geo-spatial data. Training is critical for

sustainability and ownership of the

technologies and solutions.
