Was ist die Deutsche Wolke?

● Initiative zum Aufbau einer föderalen Cloud- Infrastruktur in Deutschland

● Verbund zahlreicher deutscher Organisationen:

Was machen wir?

● Bereits 2010 sprach sich René Obermann (Vorsitzen-der der Telekom) bei BITKOM für eine "Cloud Made in Germany" aus und plädierte für einheitliche und offene Schnittstellen bzw. Standards.

● Die Initiative DEUTSCHE WOLKE setzt die Vision "Cloud Made in Germany" um: Mit offenen Standards und Schnittstellen, höchster Verfügbarkeit und vor allen Dingen mit den geltenden, strengen Datenschutzrichtlinien.

‒ Klassifikation einer Cloud nach Grad der Offenheit

‒ Fokus auf OpenCloud und OpenSourceCloud

Open Cloud Priciples (OCP)

● Open Cloud must meet the following requirements:

‒ Open Formats: All user data and metadata must be represented in Open Standard formats.

‒ Open Interfaces: All functionality must be exposed by way of Open Standard APIs.

● Open Source Cloud applies where, in addition to the Open Cloud requirements, all software is made available under an Open Source Initiative (OSI) Approved license or placed into the public domain.

● Open Data Cloud applies where, in addition to the Open Cloud requirements, all data is made available under an Open Knowledge license or placed into the public domain.

● Free Cloud applies where all of the above requirements are met.

Open Standards

● Copyrights: The standard must be documented in all its details, published and both accessible and [re]usable free of charge.

● Patents: Any patents possibly present on [parts of] the standard must be irrevocably made available on a royalty-free basis.

● Trademarks: Any trademarks possibly present on identifier(s) must be used for non-discriminatory enforcement of compliance only.

● Implementations: There must be multiple full, faithful and interoperable implementations (for both client and server where applicable) and at least one such implementation must be licensed under an Open Source Initiative (OSI) Approved license [http://www.opensource.org/licenses] or placed into the public domain.
