How Minecraft Works

You are stranded on a world made of blocks. You must find a way to survive in this strange and inhospitable land.

There is only one way to survive. You must mine.

You wake up in this strange new world, and you see the sun passing rapidly overhead. You feel a sense of impending doom as night approaches, slowly but surely.

You want a source of light for the night, and you realize torches are needed. You craft a crafting table from a tree, and on that table you make a wooden pickaxe to mine coal. It can be found in the ground or on cliffs. From that and sticks, you make torches.

Next, shelter. You can build a house out of anything, but for your first night it is best to make one of dirt. You can dredge it from the ground. You place torches and wait out the night.

Evil creatures such as creepers, spiders, zombies, skeletons and the terrifying ender men appear during the night. They will kill you if you are unprotected.

When waiting, there are many caves underground holding many dark secrets. You dig down with a pickaxe to them. You can find coal, iron, redstone, gold and diamond in these caves, along with all the evil creatures that are roaming above you as well.

Coal is used for smelting iron and gold, and torches, iron is used for more powerful tools and armor, redstone is a electricity transmitting substance for makingcomplex circuits and traps, gold can beused for tools andarmor but isn’t verystrong so it is mostly aesthetic, and diamond is very rare but can make very strong tools and armor.

Day comes. You realize you are feeling hungry and need something to eat.You search for a pig, cow or chicken for meat,

and you can start a farm for a sustainable food source.You craft swords for the animals and hoes for the farm.

Well done! You can now build and mine to your heart’s content.The possibilities are endless for building. Planning a castle? Ora spaceship? Maybe a statue? The choice is yours.
