Summary
This was the first Hackathon to be organized by Mobile Monday Nigeria. It
focused on the design of a Cinema Listing Web Application for VConnect which
would help people to find their favorite movies at Cinemas near them. The
participants were expected to use ASP .NET or PHP as the programming platform
and Microsoft SQL as the Database Component of the application. A total of 9
teams competed in the Hackathon and their solutions were presented to a panel
of judges after 7 hours (10:00am to 5:00pm) of coding and development.
The name for each team was culled from the top 10 Movies of the year 2010
which coincidentally was the same year that VConnect was founded. Three
winning teams were selected and an additional team was selected for having the
best User Interface “functionality score”. Interviews were also conducted with the
winning teams, judges and members of the Mobile Monday Nigeria team. The
winners are expected to work with the VConnect product team to complete their
applications over a 30 day period.

ATTENDEE FEEDBACK SURVEY RESULTS An attendee feedback survey was conducted and the following results were
obtained from the respondents.
`
Conclusion We will like to thank VConnect Global Services Limited for sponsoring the
Hackathon. And we will like to thank the Lagos State Innovation council also for all
the support they have given us in the last 3 months.
The Hackathon was a success and we’d like to thank all those who attended
(either as participants, enthusiasts or observers). The feedback provided after the
event is essential to us because it has helped us to know the key concerns that
were expressed by developers and industry professionals alike. This will help us
plan a better Hackathon in the future.
