Razvoj Toyotinih hibrida

• Prvi počeci Toyotine hibridne tehnologije sežu u davnu 1965. godinu kada su Toyotini inženjeri istraživali plinske turbine, da bi ih koristili pri dovodu energije za električna vozila.

• Godine 1977. Toyota je predstavila hibridni prototip Sports 800 GT (Gas Turbine), sportski kupe sa elektromotorom i plinskom turbinom.

• Godine 1997 - Toyota na svet lansira Prius, prvi hibrid u serijskoj proizvodnji, limuzina za 5 osoba, sa normalnim prtljažnikom, dobrim performansama za benzinski motor, i nedostižno malom potrošnjom goriva i emisijom gasova.

Istorija Priusa

• 1993Klintonova administracija je sponzorisala PNGV (Partnership for the

Next Generation of Vehicles), 10 godišnji projekt razvoja porodičnih vozila s niskom potrošnjom goriva, u koji su bili uključeni svi Američki proizvođači vozila. Novac za finansiranje projekata osigurala je vlada. Toyota je bila odbijena iz toga projekta, kao Japanski proizvođač. Razočarana radi odbijanja, Toyota se odlučila za samostalni projekat.

• Oktobar 1995Toyota je lansirala konceptualno vozilo “Prius” (engl. Pre ili formerly,

takođe first ili priority). Suština konceptualnog vozila je bila zajedničko delovanje elektromotora spojenog sa uobičajenim benzinskim motorom. To nazivamo EMS (Energy Management System).

Istorija Priusa

• Oktobar 1997

Toyota predstavlja serijsku verziju Priusa, kao funkcionalni automobil koji će se uskoro prodavati. Američki automobilski proizvođači zgroženi – do ovoga trenutka oni nisu uspeli razviti ni prototip, a Toyota već ima hibridno vozilo. Taj model sadrži THS (Toyota Hybrid System), koji je napredniji od EMS.

• Decembar 1997

Početak prodaje Priusa na japanskom tržištu. U svetu tek nakon 3 godine.

• Decembar 1999

Toyota objavljuje prodaju Priusa u SAD-u u drugoj polovini 2000. godine.

• Januar 2000

Američki proizvođači najavljuju prototip PNGV, što je dokaz da su preživeli težak period proučavanja hibrida.

• Jun 2000

Toyota objavljuje internet stranicu, na kojoj je moguće prijaviti se na listu čekanja za kupovinu Priusa. Količine su bile limitirane, tako da oni koji nisu ispunili obrazac praktično nisu mogli kupiti Prius.

• Avgust 2000

Počinje prodaja redizajniranog Priusa. Akumulator je manji i lakši, ali snažniji. Motor je promenjen i sada ima 72 KS (pre 58), takođe ima i bolje ubrzanje (12,5 s, pre 14,1s). Model godište 2001, 2002, 2003, prodavan je po celom svetu.

Istorija Priusa

• Početak 2001.

Busheva administracija je zamrznula donacije za PNGV projekt. Dotok sredstava je prekinut.

• Kraj 2002.

Toyota objavljuje, da ostvaruje profit od svakoga prodatog Priusa. Uspeh hibrida je sada očigledan.

• April 2003.

Toyota predstavlja potpuno novi Prius sa hibridnim pogonom nove generacije nazvanim HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive).

• Oktobar 2003.

Prvi HSD Priusi su već na putu. Uspeh je ogroman.
