The Painted Monasteries

The northern part of Romania

(Bucovina) is known for its Painted

Monasteries. These beautiful structures, averaging between 4 and 5 centuries old, are decorated

both inside and outside with richly

coloured frescoes as old as the buildings

themselves.

Deemed masterpieces of Byzantine art, these churches are one-of-a-kind architectural sites in Europe

and offer the visitors an opportunity to explore the Carpathian

Mountains, the picturesque villages of the region, and other, non-

painted churches.

Voronet Monastery

Perhaps the most famous and stunning of the painted

monasteries is Voronet founded in 1487 by Stephen

the Great to celebrate a victory over the Turks.

Widely known throughout Europe as "the Sistine

Chapel of the East" due to its interior and exterior wall

paintings, this monastery offers an abundance of

frescoes featuring an intense shade of blue commonly

known as “Voronet blue”. In addition, the frescoed

walls of the Voronet monastery illustrate biblical

scenes such as The Last Judgment and The Ladder of

St. John.

Ceahlau National Park

A visit to Bucovina would not be complete without some stunning nature walks through Ceahlau National Park, Romania’s

Olympus – the sacred mountain of the Dacians, the forefathers of the Romanian people. Make sure you bring binoculars as some 90 species of birds can be seen in the park area. Hikers won’t want to pass up taking a crack at the Bicaz Gorges, a steep, twisting-and-

turning climb more than three miles long.

Brașov Bran Castle Bran Castle (Romanian: Castelul Bran), situated near Bran

and in the immediate vicinity of Braşov, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. It is commonly known as "Dracula's Castle“.

Sibiu is a city in Transylvania, Romania, the capital of Sibiu County. Sibiu is one of the most important cultural centres of Romania and along with the city of Luxembourg, it was designated the European Capital of Culture in 2007.

Hunedoara - Hunyad Castle

Corvins' Castle, Hunyad Castle or Hunedoara Castle (Romanian: Castelul Huniazilor or Castelul Corvinilor), is a Gothic - Renaissance castle in Hunedoara, in the region of Transylvania, Romania.

Scărișoara Cave (Romanian: Peștera Scărișoara), is one of the biggest ice caves in the Apuseni Mountains, a part of the Carpathian chain. It is considered one of the natural wonders of Romania.

Buzau is interesting because here you can visit the volcanoes, more precisely the muddy volcanoes

Around the muddy volcanoes, the soil isn’t good for plants, but some plants got used to the soil and they can grow there.

The Living Fires (Focurile Vii in Romanian) can be found in the Romanian village of Lopatari, Buzau County, in Slanicului Valley, 56 km away from Buzau city. Living Fires can be as high as 20 cm and represent a natural phenomenon unique in Europe. They are blue flames burning in places where the soil is cracked and kept alive because of the gas that comes to surface.

The Peles castle is one of the most beautiful castles from Romania and Europe. It was built between 1873 and 1914. The Peles castle is one of the most important buildings from Romania. Due to its architecture and its historic value, the Peles Castle is one of the most important buildings from Europe too.

Sinaia church is an orthodox building from Sinaia, Prahova. At the beginning it was built for 12 monks to live in but within the time more monks came to live there. And it was necessary to build a bigger church

The Baltic Sea

Poland is situated on the Baltic Sea.

The Baltic Sea is often visited by tourists, especially in summer. Summer temperature is about 22 degrees.

In winter it is about 0-2 °C.

Cracow Cracow is the second largest and one of the oldest cities

in Poland. It is Situated on the Vistula River (Polish: Wisła). The population of the city is approximately 760,000. Kraków is one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life.

universities in the world, founded in 1364. It is considered the best Polish university and the most prestigious one.

Warsaw Warsaw is the capital and the biggest city in

Poland. The symbol of Warsaw is a mermaid. Places worth visiting in Warsaw are e.g.: Palace of Culture and Science or Palace in Wilanów.

Historic market square in Warsaw is very big and beautiful. In the free time we can go to park “ Royal £azienki”. This is the ideal place to relax.

Ustroń Ustroń is a city in the southern part of Silesian

Province, in the district of Cieszyn. It is a convenient base for hikers. In Ustroń there are also many bike trails and many attractions. There is, among other things: Forest Park of Surprises, created in natural environment.

Wieliczka The town of Wieliczka, lies within the Kraków metropolitan area. It is

famous for the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The mine was built in the 13th century. It produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world's oldest salt mines still in operation. Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the most precious monuments of Polish culture. Today it combines tradition with modernity as it is both centuries of history and an underground city.

This region has so many places to see. Pamukkale is one of them. Because of The eagean sea, this region hosts so many tourists.

The capital of tourism, Antalya, is in this region. There are so many sport activities to do every season like parachuting, skiing, yachting etc.
