Here is some important information for all passengers:
Dubai International continues to be one of the leading airports in the world in terms of international passenger and cargo traffic. Dubai International connects over 70 million passengers a year to more than 270 destinations across six continents. There are currently 140 airlines operating from Dubai International, and an average of 193,000 passengers
and an average of 979 flights per day.The airport comprises three terminals. Projections for 2015 traffic at Dubai International includes a forecast of 79 million passgers with more flights connecting more people to more destinations, as well as new technologies, new F&B concepts and service initiatives.

i. How do I know which gate my flight is departing from? Updated flight information is displayed on our flight information screens located throughout the airport and is shown on your boarding pass. If you need further clarification, please consult our staff at any of the information desks located conveniently across the airport.
ii. I have lost a personal item at the airport. What should I do?Please follow the signs to our information desks where our staff will assist you. (Please also refer to page 16).
iii. I have a query about my flight details/ information, where do I go?

رغم حركة المسافرين والشحن الكثيفة عبر دبي الدولي، إال انك لن تشعر بعدم الراحة , بفضل الخدمات المتميزة والتوسعات الدائمة لهذا المطار المتطور. ويستخدم دبي رحالت تسير دولية طيران شركة 140 من أكثر الدولي المفضل الخيار العالم، مما يجعله 270 وجهة حول إلى للمسافرين بين شرق العالم وغربه. وقد حصل دبي الدولي
على جوائز عدة، خاصة بعد افتتاح المبنى 3 الذي يعد أضخم مرفق جوي من نوعه في العالم بطاقة استيعابية قدرها أكثر من 40 مليون مسافر سنويا, ويستخدم المطار اكثر من
70 مليون مسافر سنويا.و من المتوقع ان ترتفع الطاقة االستيعابية للمطار الى 79

Passenger Information
Dubai International is served by a number of public transport services. Dubai Taxis and buses are available round the clock, while the Dubai Metro has a scheduled service to Terminals 1 and 3. Please visit the Roads and Transport Authority website at www.rta.ae for more information or follow the signs to our information desks where our staff will be able to assist you.
There are a number of ways to check flight information:• Telephone – our 24-hour call centre at +971 (0) 4 216 6666.• Internet – log on to dubaiairports.ae for real time flight updates.• Smart phone – log on to dubaiairports.ae for flight information.• Flight Information Screens – located throughout the departures area.• Consulting staff at the information desks located throughout the facility or use one of the touch screens available throughout the airport.
Check-inDepending on your airline there are a variety of check-in options:• Regular check-in service (full check-in and baggage drop off at the counter).• Online check-in service (check-in at home and simply go to the dedicated counters to drop off baggage and collect the boarding pass if needed).• Early check-in service (up to 24hrs in advance on select Emirates airline flights).• Self check-in service (user friendly kiosks that allow passengers to check-in and select seats for themselves).• Check-in usually opens between two to three hours before departure for most airlines; please refer to the flight information screens in the departures area for check-in locations.
• Liquid, aerosol and gels (LAGs) restrictions in hand luggage.• Liquids, aerosols and gels must be in containers up to a maximum of 100ml each.• All containers must be placed in a clear resealable bag of 1 litre maximum capacity.• Passengers can only have one bag per person which must be shown to the security officials at the screening checkpoints.

• If you have purchased items from another airport, they will be in sealed tamper-evident bags. Items purchased at Dubai Duty Free that are subject to these restrictions will also be placed in similar bags by their customer service representatives at the cashier.• Some exceptions are made for baby food and medicines.• Please check with our information desks for additional information.

• يسمح لكل راكب بحمل حقيبة واحدة وتخضع لتفتيش رجال األمن عند نقاط التفتيش.• اذا كنت عزيزي المسافر قد قمت بشراء سلع من مطار آخر, فيجب وضعها في أكياس مغلقة لم يتم فتحها أو العبث
بمحتوياتها. تطبق نفس اإلجراءات على السلع التي تم شراؤها من سوق دبي الحرة, ويتم الحصول على هذه األكياس عند نقاط الدفع أو من قبل ممثلي خدمة العمالء.

Passenger Information
• Passengers are advised to check with airlines directly for baggage allowances and applicable charges for excess luggage. If you are required to pay excess baggage, you will be directed to the dedicated counters for excess baggage.
• Baggage wrapping services are available at the check-in area of all three terminals. Passengers are advised to check the weight of the baggage before wrapping to avoid unnecessary delays at the check-in counter.
• Porters are available to assist you with your luggage at a nominal cost paid directly to the porter. Porters can be found at the curbside, waiting to assist you while entering the terminal.
• Left luggage facility at Terminals 1 and 3 is located outside the customs arrivals area and costs of Dh20 for the first 12 hours per regular item and Dh25 for the first 12 hours per oversized item. The luggage offices can be contacted on +971 (0) 4 216 2627 (Terminal 1) or +971 (0) 4 504 7579 (Terminal 3).

Baggage collection All your checked-in luggage will appear on the pre-assigned baggage reclaim belts in the arrivals hall. Please check the nearest screen for belt number allocated to your flight.

Smokers lounge: Dubai International is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is prohibited in all areas except at dedicated smoking lounges at Gates C9 and C23 in Terminal 1 and the departure boarding lounge in Terminal 2. Smoking lounges are also available in Concourse A near gates A2 and A23.
Prayer rooms: Dubai International has numerous Muslim prayer rooms and ablution rooms conveniently located throughout all three terminals and at the car park facilities. Please follow the signs to these facilities.

Dubai Airports has introduced a new mobile App that puts information passengers need to navigate one of the world’s leading international airports at their fingertips, guiding them from check-in to boarding. The App incorporates information from both Dubai International and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC) and is available in English and Arabic. Among the more innovative features is a comprehensive Find Your Flight function, which allows users to enter their flight number to receive customised detail to ease their travel and enhance their airport experience. Passengers can also receive updates on their flights, including gate changes
or boarding times. Other features include Flight Radar 24, a flight tracking service; and 3-D Airport Maps. The Before You Fly section shares travel information passengers will need prior to travelling to

arriving at both airports, including

The earl iest recorded mention of Dubai is in 1095 in the Book of
Geography by the Andalusian-Arab geographer Abu Abdullah Al Bakri. Since then, the emirate has blossomed and bloomed.
Oil Oil was discovered in waters off Dubai in 1966. The first field was named Fateh or 'good fortune'. This led Dubai to grant
concessions to international oil companies, thus igniting a massive influx of foreign workers. Between 1968 and 1975 the city's population grew by over 300 per cent.

Infrastructure Since the inception of the emirate in 1971, Dubai's Ruler, the late His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, used revenue from trading activities to build infrastructure. Electricity, telephone services, and an airport were established in Dubai in the 1950s. In 1970 a new terminal building was constructed which included Dubai's first Duty Free shops.Another major project was the construction of Port Rashid, a deep water free port, in 1972.
Iconic landmarksThe Clocktower Roundabout was constructed in 1964. The following decade saw the construction of the Dubai World Trade Centre in 1978. At the time it was built, the 39-storey office tower was the tallest in the UAE.
Modern Dubai Coming to the new millennium, Dubai is on par with many top cities in the West. World-class roadways, accommodation, ease of business, public transport facilities, hospitality services, retail facil it ies, shopping, air connectivity, healthcare and many other world-class facilities is what brings millions of visitors throughout the year to the emirate. The iconic Burj Khalifa, standing at 829.8 metres, was officially opened in January 2010. The tower is also connected to The Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping mall, part of the $20 billion Downtown Dubai development, and includes 1,200 shops. Another major feather in Dubai’s cap was the construction of the driverless, fully automated Dubai Metro rail network, inaugurated at 09:09:09 pm on 09/09/2009.

تدفــق العمالــة األجنبية إليهــا. زاد عدد الســكان فــي هــذه اإلمــارة بيــن عــام

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House/Museum (Port Rashid): Dating from the late 1800s, Sheikh Saeed’s House, which has now been restored into a museum, was built near the sea so the ruler could oversee all shipping activity. Although the original house was demolished, the current one has stayed true to the architectural style of the past era.
Gold Souk, Deira: Dubai isn’t called the city of gold for no reason. A walk through the Gold Souq will reveal over hundreds of stores exclusively selling gold, with an approximate of 25 tonnes of gold on display in the windows of over 600 shops.
Jumeirah Mosque, Jumeirah: An example of beautiful Islamic architecture, the Jumeirah Mosque offers guided tours six days a week (except Friday) to tourists to help foster a better understanding of the Islamic faith.

Ski Dubai, the region’s leading entertainment destination has welcomed
the year with the launch of a unique ride – The Snow Bullet.
A state-of-the-art zip line, 16 metres off the snowcapped grounds, the Snow Bullet allows guests to be propelled 150 metres across the breath of Ski Dubai’s hills, while skiers and snowboarders navigate the slopes below. Combining speed, majestic views and the thrill of soaring above the ground, the Snow Bullet can accommodate two people simultaneously on its dual track, so guests can compete against each other as they race in sub-zero temperatures.
Employ ing the la tes t technology and highest safety standards, the zip line is offered as an added ride with the PowerPass ticket and enables guests to enjoy an exhilarating day of fun, frolic and adrenaline-packed excitement. The ticket gives guests access to the Snow Park, Zorbing (a giant transparent ball guests can tumble down the slopes in), Mountain Thriller ride (racing down the winding and angular slopes in a two-passenger tube), unlimited chairlift rides and the choice between a snow penguin encounter or skiing.
Priced at Dh300, the PowerPass also includes the Snow Bullet and promises an unforgettable experience that is as unique as it is memorable. The Snow Bullet can also be experienced on its own for Dh150, which entitles guests to two runs.

A sneak peak at the menu of Monaco’s trendy celebrity haunt, Sass Cafe, revealed
dishes such as Tartare de Boeuf, Saumon Marine a la Fleur De Sel and Sole Meuniere.
A touch of Monaco? More like a giant slice right here in the gastronomically-delightful Dubai. Dinner began, as it does, with an amouse bouche trio of tapenade, diced tomato and chicken liver pâté (always complimentary at a restaurant of this calibre). We soon sat down to our starters: Tartare de Seriole (a tartare of the rare yellowtale fish with 5g of the prized Ostrietch caviar on top), and Crottin de Chavignol (a warm goat’s cheese with truffle).
Now, this being mainly South of France-inspired cuisine, the tartare had a lot to live up to. One bite in, and there was nothing to worry about. The raw fish nearly melted in my mouth, leaving an aftertaste of the tart lemon, the mild spice of the chives and the salty overtones of the caviar eggs. The Crottin de Chavignol held in its heart the smokey, earthy flavours of the truffle. Served warm, the cheese was of the highest calibre, marrying perfectly the flavour of the truffle. The main courses, when they arrived, were an odyssey of one tasty mouthful after the other. The 250grams Grilled Wagyu Ribeye, high in its fat content, cooked medium-rare to rare, was moist and tender, as should be expected from a high-end rib-eye cut. The smokiness of the grilled meat, combined with the clarified butter, egg yolk and vinegar of the Bearnaise sauce, lent a certain oh la la quality to the dish. The Sole Meunière (Atlantic sole sautéed with lemon butter and parsley), with Puree de Pommes de Terre aux Truffes (mashed potatoes with shavings of black truffle) on the side, left me unable to do much besides relish each bite in silence. It took Diego and his band’s version
of I Love You Baby, to snap us out of our reverie and onto the dance area. Just the get-up-and-go needed to ready us for round three. Desert. Cigars Au Chocolat. Four tightly-wrapped puff-pastry cigarillos with a warm, decadent chocolate sauce, oozing out of each bite.
Need I say more? The restaurant may not have
won any awards just yet. But if Chef Alexander Stumpf and his team keep pace with their glitterati cousin in Monaco, the accolades are surely just a stone’s throw away.

authentic showcase of Emirati culture and food. The old-world charm draws you in from the get-go. Standing proud at the entrance is an old, blue Land Rover truck and a camel led by a man in authentic Emirati garb. The place exudes a near-museum feel with a carved wooden door archway, artefacts, traditional wind-towers and a Arabesque Islamic art. The restaurant has colourful kerosene lanterns, along with black-and-white pictures depicting the history and heritage of the UAE.
A tree serves as the central prop, a nod to the days when meeting would be held in similar environments.
The 200-cover restaurant also includes a balcony offering views of the Arabian Gulf and a
eggs loaded with tomatoes. Our Emirati dining odyssey was appropriately complemented by Dango (crunchy cumin flavoured chickpeas) and Balalit (sweetened cardamom and saffron seasoned vermicellli noodles) served with an omelet roll on top.
Breakfast ended with a tour of the souk, an opportunity to purchase traditional Emirati souvenirs such as old floral-print crockery, silver pill boxes, handmade bukhoor and incense-burners, straw fans, handbags made from the bedouin woven fabric, fenjan or ceramic coffee cups, marash or rose water-sprinklesr and the exotic carved metal dustpans.
With the air of Emirati culture and hospitality permeating the atmosphere, Al Fanar shines for the experience it offers visitors as well as the trip down memory lane it offers Emiratis.

Twelve treatment rooms, breakout spots, relaxation areas with throws to keep your feet warm, complimentary tea and snacks, rain showers, monsoon showers, jet showers, experience showers, steam rooms, saunas, ice fountains, gorgeous views of the Dubai skyline and the beach, hair drying and even styling facilities… and that’s just the list of complimentary amenities a spa-
goer is entitled to. The therapies, on their own, are worth writing home about. Creative Leather Art makes finding unique souvenirs of places visited in the UAE
a breeze. It doesn’t take more than a stroll around Al Bastakiya, Dubai’s must-visit charming historic quarter and be welcomed by artist Sa’ad Al Jed at his gallery. Alternatively, his artistic pieces can be snapped up at Dubai Duty Free, where he would like to open his own shop one day.
Hailing from Iraq, Sa’ad found a new home in the UAE in 1998. He opened his first gallery in Sharjah, offering traditional ceramics and paintings. As the millennium dawned it was time for something new. “Tourists find pottery heavy to carry on a plane. It also breaks easily,” says Sa’ad.
“I, therefore, wanted to find an advanced technique and began investigating new materials.”
The result was ready in 2003, an artificial leather-like flexible and very light material, soft enough to do intrinsic carvings and Arabic calligraphy, which could also be coloured. “Its not leather, nor synthetic leather, although it looks and feels like it. It is water not oil-based. I mixed over five different materials to create this secret recipe. Invented and registered in Dubai, with an international patent, its a unique Emirati technique,” says Sa’ad.
The ability to work in three dimensions helps to communicate art. “We have media to see, listen and read, but art is about
transmitting something through a feeling,” he says, recalling a moving moment when a blind person touched his artworks, enabling him to ‘see’.
His exhibitions in Qatar, and the UAE have attracted the interest of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President & Prime Minister of the UAE & Ruler of Dubai. “Sheikh Mohammed was very happy when he talked to me. He said my art was a dialogue among civilizations,” Sa’ad enthuses.

RedFest Dxb, and a homegrown heartthrob. Meet the Dubai-based

He’s a nightclub favourite, a multiple chart-topper on iTunes and an all-
around nice guy. Two Tone, the Moroccan-born, Holland-bred, Dubai-based artist is taking the world by storm with his hit singles Senorita and the newly-released Mektab/Destiny, a duet with Moroccan singer Rhany. Despite his international background, the artist admits that Dubai feels like his first home. “I’m enjoying my life so much here. Dubai has given me the opportunity to share the luxury lifestyle that we are accustomed to in the Middle East with the rest of the world through my music.” In fact, a key goal for Two Tone is to put Dubai on the music map. In an exclusive interview with Dubai International Airport and
City Guide, he emphasises that “when you hear about Two Tone it should automatically stand for Dubai.”
The singer has even begun work on a new single with Emirati artist Fadel El Mazroui. The track is scheduled to be a far cry from his earlier Latino-hip-hop vibe.
As it should be, for a “young thugged out Moroccan growing up in the streets of The Netherlands who became a successful international businessman, rolling through the shiny streets of Dubai in one of his luxurious cars.”
The fact that he’s had such an international background should add a cultural depth to his musical layers. “I’ve seen a lot of the world as I travel frequently and learn from different cultures
and music scenes. Growing up in Holland has given me an open-minded vision on life and makes me able to write about all different aspects of life. My Moroccan background allows me to incorporate Arabic elements in my music. And then there’s Dubai…” The city of dreams, of glamour and glitz. A city that took a young expat with dreams and helped him realise them. Today, Two Tone is on top of the iTunes charts and is quickly establishing a real fanbase in Dubai. He’s also promoting himself more in Europe, with his songs on heavy rotation in Spain.
The latest feather in his cap is his performance at RedFest DXB, on February 13, alongside music bigwigs Iggy Azalea, Kid Ink and Jeremih.
