Dear Esteemed Members and Guests of Mission Hills,

The passing of the Lunar New Year signifies the coming of spring. I would like to take this opportunity to send my warmest greetings to you, and may I wish you all the happiness, prosperity, good health and good luck for the year ahead!

During the Lunar New Year, when I was meeting up with the friends and members of Mission Hills, I found myself revelling in the joyous atmosphere. The Lunar New Year is the most celebrated festival by the Chinese. And the wonderful thing is that no matter where you are, you can always catch a dose of this joyous spirit. This somehow hints that the world economy is now entering into the “Chinese Era”, signaling great pride and increased opportunities for Chinese people around the world. With the rise of China’s economic power on the world’s stage, my goal is to create a greater platform that incorporates golf, leisure, recreation and business for all members and friends of Mission Hills.

With your strong support and efforts, the all-new Mission Hills · Haikou was finally launched on Hainan Island last year. We have also successfully founded and organised spectacular events such as the Mission Hills Star Trophy at this new spot, setting another milestone for a Mission Hills’ development. It was such a heartfelt experience to see that this secluded resort was so highly-praised by its visiting members and guests.

As Mission Hills continues to present our members and guests with exciting activities and programmes, may it also serve as the perfect venue for our future rendezvous!

剛剛度過了吉祥喜慶的中國新年，春天真正地到來了。在這個美好春天開始的時候，我要再一次向朋友們致以最誠摯的祝福，祝大家萬事開門紅！

今年春節，我和許多會員朋友在相互拜年的時候，都常常心生感動。春節是中國人最珍視的傳統節日，但是現在即使身處世界其它地方，也可以時時感受到異國他鄉的中國新年氣氛，它從側面印證了世界經濟發展到了「中國時代」，這無疑是全球華人的福氣、榮耀和機遇。就在去年，中國已經躍居世界最大出口國，世界第二大經濟體。所以，我的心願就是藉助中國崛起的天時地利人和，為會員朋友們創造更大的打球休閒和商務社交平台。

抱着這樣的心願，去年在各位會員的支持與關注之下，觀瀾湖跨過瓊州海峽，在中國熱帶寶島海南成功運營了全新的觀瀾湖．海口國際高爾夫度假區，並首創和舉辦了觀瀾湖世界職業明星邀請賽等盛事，許多前往的會員嘉賓對這片誕生在石漠地上的休閒勝地厚愛有加，這對我和觀瀾湖來說，無疑是最大的鼓舞。

在這裡我衷心地希望，在跨越瓊州海峽、兩岸三地的觀瀾湖的休閒世界裡，不斷為會員們和嘉賓創造和呈獻精彩項目、精彩活動，讓我們愉快聚首。

Dr. David Chu is known as “the father of golf in China”. And in recognition of his outstanding contributions to international golf, Dr. Chu will be honoured with KPMG‘s Lifetime Achievement Award at the KPMG Golf Business Forum in April 2011. This award acknowledges Dr. Chu’s achievements in creating the Mission Hills Golf Club and developing the fast-growing popularity of golf in China.

Established by KPMG in 2006, the Lifetime Achievement Award is dedicated to ambassadors of the game and the business of golf. Dr. Chu will join an all-star cast of past honourees, who includes golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Greg Norman and former European Tour Executive Director Ken Schofield.

As the founder of Mission Hills Golf Club, Dr. Chu has built the world’s largest golf complex (Mission Hills · Shenzhen, Mission Hills · Dongguan, and Mission Hills · Haikou) and been dedicated to the development of golf worldwide, concentrating in China. He is the first Asian to receive this recognition. The award will be presented at the opening ceremony of the KPMG’s upcoming Golf Business Forum, to be held in Dubai from 17 to 20 April 2011.

With his devotion to the global development of golf, Dr. David Chu has already won numerous international awards. In November 2009, the PGA TOUR recognized Dr. Chu for his groundbreaking contributions to golf in China and his efforts in popularising the sport globally, by establishing an award with his name

KPmG’s liFETimE AChiEVEmEnT AWARD

– the David Chu Award. They honoured him as the award’s first recipient. Previously, the PGA TOUR has only honoured Jack Nicklaus, Byron Nelson,

Arnold Palmer, and Payne Stewart. Dr. Chu is the only Asian who has received this recognition. In addition, Dr. Chu has been the only Asian to be ranked amongst the “Most Powerful People in Golf” by Golf Inc. magazine since 2007, and in 2010 he stands at No. 9 on the list.

“In recognising Dr. David Chu with our most prestigious honour, we are paying tribute to his remarkable vision for the future of golf in China,” says Andrea Sartori, Head of KPMG’s Golf Advisory Practice in Europe, Middle East and Africa. “While the golf industry is now in full agreement that the game’s future is very much in Asia, we are only now catching up to something that Dr. Chu recognised more than 15 years ago. For that, he is a true visionary and fully deserves his place alongside names like Player, Palmer and Nicklaus as a Lifetime Achievement Award winner.”

In response to such recognition, Dr. Chu says, “The future of golf lies in its globalisation and popularisation. Mission Hills has been dedicated to the development of golf and leisure in the world’s most populated country China. I am honoured to see the unprecedented diversity of exchange in golf between the East and the West driven by our efforts, and that more and more people in China, including the young generation, are able to lead a rewarding life through this wholesome type of sport.”

觀瀾湖再添新賽事三月舉辦中國首個歐洲常青傳奇錦標賽

China’s first european senior event to be hosted at mission hills

mission Hills will be hosting the ISPS Handa Senior World Championship in March. The tournament, co-sanctioned by the European Senior Tour and Chinese Golf Association, will be played from 11 to 13 March and will be the Tour’s first event in China. It will be played over Mission Hills’ iconic Nicklaus Course and the prize fund totals US$ 350,000.

“At Mission Hills we have long bee n proud of our position at the forefront of golf development in China and, indeed, Asia,” said Tenniel Chu, Executive Director, Mission Hills Group.

“With the confirmation that we will play host to China’s first European Seniors Tour event at Mission Hills · Shenzhen, I am delighted that our important role in welcoming the most important golfing events and organization to our country will continue with the ISPS Handa Senior World Championship presented by Mission Hills,” said Chu.

The new tournament is title sponsored by ISPS (International Sports Promotion Society), which is chaired by Japanese businessman and philanthropist Dr. Haruhisa Handa.

Wayne Grady (more affectionately known as Grades) turned professional in 1978 at the age of 21. Following his first win at the West Lakes Classic in South Australia, he had 27 second place finishes before he finally won again at the German Open 1984.

His most recognisable win was at the 1990 PGA Championship. He was also the runner up with Greg Norman at the 1989 Open Championship.

Grady was the Chairman of the Australian PGA Tour from 2000 to 2006. He has worked as a commentator on various golf channels since 2000.

Ian Woosnam won 47 worldwide tournament victories including the US Masters at Augusta in 1991. In 1987 he became the first player to win £1 million in prize money in a single year, winning five tournaments in Europe along with the Sun City $1 million Challenge, the Hong Kong Open and the World Cup of Golf.

Awarded the 2006 European Ryder Cup captaincy, Woosnam led his European team to a record equalling 18.5/9 victory over their American counterparts at the K-Club in Ireland. This was the first time in

Ryder Cup history that the European Team had won all the five sessions.

In 2007, Woosnam received the OBE in the New Year’s Honours List in recognition of his services to golf.

Previously, Mission Hills partnered with a number of famous golfers such as Nick Faldo, founder of Faldo Series Asia. There was also the Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship and many other youth training camps and activities. Mission Hills and Annika Sorenstam co-founded China’s first junior female competition last October.

“Mission Hills views its junior golf initiative as an investment in our future. We are giving back to the sport and to China, not only for us but the whole industry will thrive in a healthy and prospering golf industry,” added Chu.

At the Mission Hills Club Championship 2010, men’s winner Gu Yu and ladies’ winner Yvonne Wong came out on top.古雨、黃珮瑩分別榮膺男女盟主。

The mission Hills Club Championship 2010 was held from 17th to 18th December in Mission Hills · Shenzhen. Gu Yu won the Men’s Club Champion with 143 strokes, while Yvonne Wong won the Ladies’ Club Champion with 166 strokes. The two champions were presented with green jackets, a symbol of the greatest honour from the World’s No. 1 Golf Club. Meanwhile, the championship enabled the two winners to be qualified as the honourary observers of the Omega Mission Hills World Cup 2011.

For the Men’s Club Champion, a seesaw battle was staged between Gu Yu and Chau Pui. Chau Pui, winner of the Mission Hills Golfathon Grand Final 2010, finished the first round at 72 strokes, which kept him close to the long-awaited championship. However, he then fell behind in the second round after an unsatisfactory 75 strokes. Gu Yu, the winner of the Club Championship 2008, eventually overtook Chau’s leadership and won his second club championship in three years, with a slender lead of three shots.

The battle of Ladies’ Club Championship was even more competitive. After two rounds of keen competition, Yvonne Wong and Christine Kwok both led at 166 strokes. The tournament then headed to a play-off at the 18th hole of Ozaki Course. The dramatic scene came here: the two players tied at 5 in the first round of the play-off! The game then proceeded to the second round of play-off, and finally Yvonne Wong won the Ladies’ Club Champion with her accurate putt.

2011年1月20日，首屆觀瀾湖青少年系列賽總決賽在世界盃球場落幕，尹淵儒最終因為簽錯記分卡，使得12歲的劉瑞欣意外榮膺總冠軍，她將直接進入三月份舉辦的2011年費度亞洲杯總決賽，並獲得下一年度的青少年系列賽總決賽資格。而12歲以上各組別總桿前三名選手將受邀參加2011年費度亞洲杯中國錦標賽。

本次總冠軍的產生極具戲劇性。三天來，在國內比賽中屢屢獲獎的尹淵儒共打出216桿，領先第二名劉瑞欣（224桿）8桿之多，但因為記分卡的問題而被取消資格。據賽事當值裁判介紹，在3桿洞的第15號洞，尹淵儒面臨一個短推保帕，同組記分的白政愷覺得肯定沒問題，就記成了3桿。其實那一推尹淵儒失手，吞下博基。「由於記分卡的桿數比實際桿數低，不得不被DQ。相信這對所有的青少年球手都是個教訓。」裁判說。

整個青少年賽事體系設計嚴格、賽制完備，目的是為青少年選手降低高爾夫參賽門檻，能夠走向更高的舞台。觀瀾湖高爾夫球會執行董事朱鼎耀對大力支持系列賽的廣東省高協、費度亞洲杯、香港高協、R&A （英國皇家古典高爾夫俱樂部）、亞太高爾夫球聯盟、中國運動員教育基金以及泰勒梅表達了衷心的感謝。

去年，系列賽共舉行了14場常規賽和3場季度決賽，超過1,000人次的青少年參與了比賽，男女球手參賽比賽基本維持在2比1。2011年賽事計劃舉辦13場常規賽和2場季度決賽，總決賽預計於2012年1月舉行。

Overall Gross Champion finally went to the 12-year-old Liu Rui Xin, who thus qualified for the Faldo Series Grand Final 2011 and the next Mission Hills Golf Series Junior Tour Grand Final. Apart from the Gross Champion, the top three gross winners of each of the divisions above age 12 will be invited to the Faldo Series China Championship 2011.

The results of the championship were dramatic. Over the three days, frequent winner Yin Yuan Ru shot 216 strokes, leading Liu Rui Xin (224 strokes) by 8 strokes, but he was disqualified for a scorecard error. According to the duty referee of the match, Yin Yuan Ru faced a putt-for-par at par-3 15th hole. His teammate Bai Zheng Kai thought that it was a done deal and marked it as a par-3. However, Yin Yuan Ru hit a bogey. “As the number of strokes marked on the scorecard was lower than the actual number of strokes, I had no choice but to disqualify him. I believe it is a lesson for all young golfers,” says the referee.

The entire Junior Tour system was meticulously designed and well-planned to lower the threshold so that young golfers could take part in the competition and reach a higher level. Tenniel Chu, Executive Director of Mission Hills Group, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Guangdong Golf Association, Faldo Series Asia, Hong Kong Golf Association, The Royal and Ancient Golf Club (R&A), Asia Pacific Golf Confederation, Chinese Athletes Educational Foundation, and TaylorMade, for their great support of the Golf Series.

Last year, the Tour presented 14 regular season tournaments and three season finales. Over 1,000 young golfers participated in the tournaments, with the male-female ratio kept at 2-to-1. In 2011, the Tour plans to present 13 regular season tournaments and two season finales. The Grand Final is expected to be held in January 2012.

Can you hit a golf ball using your left hand equally as well as your right? For Jeremy Dale, this feat is as simple as putting one foot in front of the other. Dale is Britain’s leading figure in golf trick-shots, who recently visited Mission Hills · Haikou and Mission Hills · Dongguan on 14 and 15 January, respectively. In an amazing golf trick-shot show, he astonished fans with his superb skills of golf magic.

With an array of amazing right- and left-handed golf shots, and incredible shots from a fi tball and a one-meter high tee, Dale thrilled and entertained the audience at Mission Hills. As the runner-up in the World Golf Trick-Shot Championship 2005, his repertoire started with an “Edward Scissorhands-like” stunt using two clubs at once.

“This warm-up trick can help practice my skills,” says Dale, who demonstrated trick-shots named “Happy Gilmore”, “High Tee” and “Drop Volley”.

The world’s No. 1 female golf instructor Cindy Reid says, “His ‘Edward Scissorhands’ is really awesome! I tried to use my both hands to perform swings but found it really difficult. It requires perfect timing, rhythm and accuracy, yet he performed it so well and so easily.”

Following the fl awless performance, Dale invited several audience members to try their hand at trick shots. One of the participants, Mr. Wong commented, “I thought that golf was a serious sport but this unforgettable experience has totally changed my mind.”

The fifth Faldo Series Asia Grand Final will take place on the Faldo Course at Mission Hills on March 2 to 4, 2011. Mission Hills Golf Club has been the home of this R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event for the past fi ve years since its launch in 2006.

During that time, the number of Faldo Series Asia qualifying events has almost tripled. The 2010/2011 season was the largest ever, with 16 tournaments taking place in 12 different Asian countries for more than 1,000 talented competitors aged between 12 and 21. Eighty fi nalists will compete over three rounds on the Faldo Course at Mission Hills for the title of Faldo Series Asia champion.

“Five years is a milestone worth celebrating,” said Sir Nick Faldo. “I thank all our sponsors, venues and host organisations, including our major partners Mission Hills, The R&A and ISPS, whose support and vision makes the Faldo Series Asia possible and allows us to continue providing opportunities to young people through golf.”

Also backed by UFL and TaylorMade, and sanctioned by the Asian Tour, the Asia Pacifi c Golf Confederation and the Guangdong Golf Association, the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final is recognised as a Major in youth golf. Former winners include current ladies’ world number one, Tseng Ya-ni, and India’s Asian Games silver medalist in Guangzhou, Rashid Khan. 15 year-old Masamichi Ito of Japan is the reigning champion and is hoping to become only the second player since Khan won in 2008 and 2009 to successfully defend his Faldo Series Asia title.

Meadow Links Golf Course OpensThe sixth golf course at Mission Hills · Haikou opened in January 2011. The Meadow Links Course is a Par-70 vintage golf course that has been designed in

a park setting. Covering 6,673 yards, the entire golf course was inspired by golf courses designed for Open tournaments along the east coast of the United States. With grass and bushes scattered around the bunkers, the golf course retained much of its natural landscape features, giving you a greater sense of nature as you play a round of golf.

Journey of ArtFrom 18 to 24 December, seven outstanding painters from Malaysia jointly organized the one-week painting exhibition “Natural Colours” at Mission Hills · Haikou. Open to the public, the free exhibition attracted large crowds. After the painting exhibition fi nished, Chinese painter Zhang Yuedong came to Mission Hills · Haikou to hold his solo “Wooden Sculpture and Dense-Ink Painting Exhibition” that showcased his Dunhuang-themed paintings and delicately crafted wooden sculptures.

Mission Hills Star Trophy player Yani Tseng becomes the World’s No. 1On 13 February, Taiwan’s 22-year-old Yani Tseng recently won the Australian Ladies Master by four shots, earning her the World No. 1 ranking in women’s golf. The Joint Tournament of Ten Provincial Golf Associations is a tournament aimed at promoting an exchange through golf, along with collaboration and friendship between the provinces.

Beijing-Guangdong Cup 2010 – Friendly Tournament for Officials On 21 December 2010, Mission Hills · Dongguan hosted the Beijing-Guangdong Cup 2010, the friendly tournament for government officials. Yuan Weimin, Chairman of the China Golf Association, and Liu Zhigeng, Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Director of Standing Committee of Municipal People’s Congress, joined 140 officials from the municipal committees and governments of Beijing and Guangdong to compete on the green at Mission Hills.

The 3rd Mission Hills Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship will be held from 25 to 27 May 2011 at the World Cup Course. The match will be a 54-hole stroke play. The game is open for players of all nationalities under age 18 (born between 1993 and 1999), with the requirements of no more than 18 handicaps for boys and no more than 24 handicaps for girls.

Mission Hills Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship is dedicated to providing a competition platform and opportunities for more teen players. The overall champions of the boys and girls divisions and the top 3 gross winners of each division will have the opportunity to join the Nicklaus Junior Championship to be held at PGA National Champion Course. At the same time, the overall champion of the girls division will also have the chance to participate in the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final. In 2010, Chinese players Guan Tianlang, Wang Youxin and Ye Wocheng, and Thai player Intouch Qiupattanakit won a ticket for the Nicklaus Junior Championship in America. Miss China 2010 at Mission HillsSponsored by Star Entertainment and Mission Hills, the Miss China (South China Region) Final beauty contest was held at Mission Hills on 5 December 2010. From 26 to 28 November, 18 contestants of the pageant visited the Golf Club for a photoshoot.

On 27 November, Mission Hills partnered with Fortune Guide, Asia Light Entertainment, Chateau Junding Winery and Yinger Fashion Group to organise the “Extravagant Music and Fashion Night”, a glamorous party for our members. The party was kicked off by 18 ravishing contestants of Miss China 2010, with the event featuring a slew of exciting presentations and performances, including a wine tasting by Chateau Junding Winery; a spectacular musical performance by young pianists An Ling and An Na; an artistic interpretation of Chinese dance and ink painting; and a music band show.

On 5 December, the Miss China (South China Region) Final was a rendezvous of notable celebrities and stars from across China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, which was held at the Mission Hills Dongguan Clubhouse. Among the contestants of the pageant, Gao Zijun, Huo Wen and Liu Ruiqi successfully won the champion, fi rst runner-up and second runner-up respectively, while the top fi ve qualifi ed to participate in the Miss China Final 2010 to be held in Macau.

Cindy Chu, Director of Mission Hills Group; Tony Yip, Executive Director of Mission Hills Golf Club; and Marco Geng, General Manager of Mission Hills Hotel were invited to the occasion and presented awards to the winners. Mission Hills Welcoming Piano Recital On 18 December, Mission Hills Golf Club and Steinway & Sons jointly organised the “Mission Hills Welcoming Piano Recital”. American-born Chinese pianist Dr. Mao Weihui was invited to perform classic songs from all over the world. Mao is most known for her interpretation of Frédéric Chopin’s music. During the performance, she played Chopin’s Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor and Fantaisie Impromptu, indulging the audience in the romance and ambience of classical music. She also played Chinese folk music Ping Hu Qiu Yue and Days of Emancipation, which highlighted the joys of traditional Chinese celebrations.

Another highlight of the recital involved Mao playing a special piano worth more than a million RMB from Steinway & Sons’ John Lennon “Imagine” Series Limited Edition.

Finally, the saxophone music by the live band brought an end to a dazzling night of fashion and glamour at the Mission Hills Supermodel of the World Fashion Night.

After the success of Mission Hills Star Trophy, the grounds of Mission Hills · Haikou were transformed into a majestic setting for the 6th Mayor Forum of the Capital Cities of Pan-Pearl River Delta on 1 December 2010. Mayors from nine capital cities of Pan-Pearl River Delta and 200 youth representatives from Hong Kong and Macao gathered to discuss the development plans for the Pan-Pearl River Delta region.

During the conference, Mission Hills · Haikou warmly welcomed the mayors and the representatives from Hong Kong and Macao in a prestigious formal event, where they enjoyed the many facilities in the resort. Set against the unique lava rock landscape, the honoured guests also played golf on Blackstone Course. In the evening, the Hot Flame Welcoming Banquet was staged at Mission Hills · Haikou Lava Lagoon. Colourful flames sparked for nearly 30 minutes, adding dazzle to the golf club. The evening ended with high praises from the guests for a magnificent event at Mission Hills · Haikou.

The Mayor Forum of the Capital Cities of Pan-Pearl River Delta was one of the most significant events on the calendar for the Haikou Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government in 2010. This forum was jointly organised by the municipal governments of the capital cities of the Pan-Pearl River Delta region, the SAR governments of Hong Kong and Macao, and the China Association of Mayors, and presented by the Haikou Municipal Government. Mission Hills always believes in giving back to the community and spreading love to others. Throughout the year, we open our doors to charities and on 5 December 2010, Mission Hills · Haikou welcomed the orphans from Haidian Island Welfare Institute in Haikou. It was a chance for the children to have a fun and unforgettable holiday.

Children love to explore their environment and express their creativity. As a start to the big day, our staff at Mission Hills · Haikou first arranged for the children to play at the Kids’ Play Land. Inside, the kids laughed and jumped on a range of fun equipments, including a colourful pool of balls, a huge 13-metre long slide and the challenging Happy Balance Beam.

勿以善小而不為，在舉辦各類慈善、公益活動之餘，觀瀾湖也非常注重平日的點滴關懷，希望用愛心去溫暖和感動所有人。12月5日，觀瀾湖．海口國際高爾夫度假區迎來了海口市海甸島福利院的所有孤兒，為小朋友們打造了一個難忘的假日。

每個孩子的心中都有自己對於未來的美好想像和憧憬，以及對於周圍世界不同角度的認知。為了讓這些缺乏安全感的孩子們放鬆心情，觀瀾湖．海口國際高爾夫度假區的工作人員先安排孩子們到兒童樂園自由玩耍。五彩繽紛的波波池，13米的巨長滑梯，驚險刺激的快樂平衡木，讓孩子們歡樂的笑聲不絕於耳。

接下來的活動更是豐富多彩，在兒童俱樂部姐姐的帶領下，小朋友們通過畫畫、捏橡皮泥、剪紙、烘烤餅屋等方式自由暢想，一個孩子還拿着粉筆，在黑板上歪歪扭扭地寫下了「觀瀾湖．海口」幾個大字。而工作人員精心準備的魔術表演，更是讓小朋友們看得目不轉睛！除了室內活動外，孩子們還在火山岩主題水上樂園裡玩起了皮划艇、水球等水上項目，最後，還收到聖誕老人為他們準備的聖誕禮物。

在這樣的一個冬日，觀瀾湖．海口以實際行動溫暖着孩子們的心，而孩子們的笑臉也一樣點亮了整個度假區。

To let their imaginations run wild, the kids participated in a range of creative activities such as drawing, plastic dough modelling, paper-cutting and bakery. One of the children even wrote the Chinese name of Mission Hills · Haikou on the blackboard. Next, the little visitors could not take their eyes off a mesmerising magic show that we had specially prepared for them. In addition to the indoor activities, the children also played water games like rubber boat and water polo at the Lava Lagoon. And to finish off the event, all the children received Christmas gifts from Santa Claus.

After a day of fun-filled activities, the staff at Mission Hills · Haikou witnessed how this event warmed the children’s hearts, while their big smiles also brightened up the whole resort.

Assorted Roast Chicken PlatterThis dish is a combination of Teriyaki chicken slices, grilled chicken cartilage and Teriyaki chicken wings, made according to a traditional Japanese cooking method. The golden-yellow Teriyaki chicken slices are poured with a savoury sauce. Crispy and tasty, the grilled chicken cartilage is too tempting to miss. And the Teriyaki chicken wings are stuffed with meat, pickled vegetables and mentaiko, which are oh-so juicy and tender.

The French goose liver and slices of chicken are wrapped in a spring roll, then sweet-and-sour applesauce is poured over the roll, and the dish is decorated with fruit slices. 1. Get the Big Picture 看大屏幕As you approach the green, take a mental inventory of its general

shape. Is it sloping toward your ball? Away from it? Does the green fall off on one side? These larger features will take priority over smaller breaks when determining how your ball will roll. 在你要攻果嶺的時候，腦子裡已經有一份所有果嶺地形的清單。斜坡是接近你的球（上坡）嗎？還是相反的遠離你的球（下坡）？果嶺是向一邊傾斜嗎？當你要決定球如何滾動時，這些大

2. Determine the Distance 確定距離Pace the distance from your ball to the hole, just as you would on the fairway. Green readinG basics

果嶺閱讀基本步驟Straight putts are nice, but most of the putts you’re going to face will have some kind of break to them. You’ll lower the number of putts you face each round if you have a green-reading routine for every situation. Here’s how to do it. 直推是很漂亮的，但大多數的情況下你都將面對不同種類的拐點。如果面對每種情況你都有一套閱讀果嶺的程式，那每場球都能降低推桿數。

3. Determine the Speed 確定球速Is the putt level, uphill or downhill? No matter where your ball is, always look up the slope to get the most accurate idea of the elevation of the putt. Remember that as the elevation changes between your ball and the hole, the target for your putt must also change. For an uphill putt, you shouldn’t be trying to hit your putt with enough speed

to reach the hole – you should be hitting it with enough speed to reach a spot a couple of feet beyond the hole. Conversely, on

a downhill putt, you shouldn’t hit the putt as though you’re trying to get the ball to the hole – you should hit it as though you’re trying to get it to stop at a target that’s a few feet short of the hole.這是個平推、上坡推還是下坡推？無論你的球在哪裡，一定要觀

4. Determine the Break 確定拐點Once you have a pretty good idea of the speed of the putt, squat down behind your ball with your eyes as level as possible. Look from your ball to the hole and determine which side of your line is the high side and which side is the low side. After you’ve determined which side is high and which is low, walk over to the low side (the direction toward which the ball will curve) and take a look up the slope. This will give you a much better idea of the severity of the slope than just looking from your ball to the hole will. Keep in mind that break is more important the closer you get to the hole, because your ball will be traveling more slowly and thus will be more affected by the break as it nears the cup. 5. Put It All Together 把所有的步驟相結合Now that you’ve determined the distance, speed and break of your putt, create a picture of your ball rolling to and falling into the hole.

On left-to-right putts, the ball must enter the hole left of center, and on right-to-left putts the ball must enter right of center.

Speed determines direction, so on a downhill putt, you need to hit the ball softer, which means the ball will be more affected by the break. On an uphill putt, you need to hit the ball harder, which means that your ball will be less affected

How the break of a green will affect your putt or chip from the fringe depends on how much time your shot spends in the air. As a general rule, the more air you put under the ball, the less you have to worry about the breaks. • If you’re putting from the fringe, or hitting a low or high shot that’s going to land on the fringe before rolling onto the green, play the same amount of break you would for a regular putt, but be sure to take into account the direction of the fringe-grass grain-dark grass (the grain is against you) will slow your ball down, while shiny grass (the grain is with you) will speed your ball up. • If you’re hitting a low, running shot onto the green with a low-lofted iron, fairway wood or hybrid, the

amount of break will depend on the slope in your landing area. Low shots hit with these clubs will be traveling faster than those hit with wedges and will be less affected by the slope in your line,

at least until the ball slows down as it approaches the hole. • If you’re hitting a high shot onto the green with a short-iron or wedge, keep in mind that shots hit with these clubs will be traveling slower than those hit with less-lofted irons, which means that they’ll be more affected by the slope in your line.

觀瀾湖．海口舞台民族味十足，《南方北方》感動全場對於已經是第二次舉辦員工春晚的觀瀾湖．海口來說，今年的員工春晚更多一些親情味道和民族元素。由球建部表演的富有海南黎族特色的《海南風情》竹竿舞，展現出海南人的熱情和才藝；高球運作部和財務部帶來的舞蹈串燒《中東風情》，展現出觀瀾湖員工的美麗和妖嬈；而地產行銷部的一首深情的詩朗誦《南方北方》，展現異鄉打拼之路的現代舞蹈更是讓台下來自中國20多個省、市、自治區和20多個海外員工的心情激昂澎湃。

Mission Hills · Shenzhen: Awesome Show!On 19 January, the fantastic annual dinner was filled with joy and laughter. Amidst a gigantic LED display, mesmerising lights, banners, balloons and a visual of blazing flames, the thousand-strong staff members from different departments at Mission Hills rang in the Year of the Rabbit.

While the “Moulin Rouge” section from the Front Office Department gave a sense of Parisian passion, the Property, Spa, DG Golf Operation Department, staff from the Pro-shop and trainees pleased the crowd with festive tribal dances. The F&B, Golf Operation and Security Department also gave a lively street dance performance titled “Battle”, complemented by modern dance from the Mission Hills Dance Team.

Meanwhile, the Management Team abandoned their office wear by dressing up in Mandarin jackets and performing funny skits on stage. Twelve gentlemen from the Management Team then entertained the crowd with a dance performance titled “I’m Awesome!” Performers, wearing cool sunglasses and chic black suits, incorporated gestures from both Lady Gaga and Thousand-hand Guanyin into their dances, receiving thunderous applause from the audience. The entertainment was topped off by DG Golf Operation Department, who demonstrated the cheerfulness and confidence of Mission Hills staff through the “Mission Hills Ensemble”.

觀瀾湖 ·深圳現場人氣爆棚，《我最給力》樂翻員工19日晚上，觀瀾湖．深圳的春晚舞台上喜氣洋洋笑聲不斷，巨型LED屏幕、炫目的燈光及冷焰火效果，現場數千觀瀾湖員工揮舞着氣球和橫幅，各部門的給力呼喊和尖叫，更是掀起了現場的狂熱氣氛。

前廳部的「紅磨坊之夜」帶領大家來到了具有異國風情的法國，地產部、Spa、東莞高球運作部、專賣店以及實習生們獻上了喜慶吉祥的民族舞。餐飲部、高球運作部、保衛部的男女街舞「Battle」和觀瀾湖舞蹈隊帶來的現代舞都看起來動感十足。別看咱們管理層們平日嚴肅，但一穿上馬褂站在台上，說起相聲來像模像樣，而由12位管理層「帥哥」獻上的舞蹈《我最給力》，成功地將Lady Gaga、千手觀音等時尚元素融合，其黑墨鏡白領黑西裝的勁酷裝扮更是引得台下掌聲不斷。東莞高球運作部帶來的壓軸表演—《歌舞觀瀾湖》，更是將觀瀾湖員工蓬勃的朝氣及積極、自信、團結的精神體現得淋漓盡致。

Mission Hills · Haikou: Tribal dances that unite “North and South”For the second time, Mission Hills · Haikou hosted the annual dinner. A slew of performances by the staff keep the party atmosphere on a high note. This year, tribal elements of a traditional Hainan bamboo dance were added by the Development Department. A Middle East dance combo from the Golf Operation Department and the Finance Department set everyone in a party mood. A recitation of the poem “North and South” from the Property Sales Department was an emotional performance that moved the crowd. And the closing performance – an exhilarating modern dance – uplifted the spirits of dozens of staff who had travelled from all different parts of China.

On behalf of the Handicap and Competition committees we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members for submitting scorecards in order to maintain a valid and up-to-date handicap. Since the inception of the handicap and competition committee last year, our primary mission has been to ensure that we are striving to ensure there is fair play, especially in all Mission Hills Member Competitions in order to encourage more members to participate. To this end we have done the following:

1. Valid Handicaps: In order to minimize “good fortune on the day” the competition committee has included a new rule upon registration that all participating members must have an up-to-date valid Handicap. A valid handicap is considered as an Index from the Mission Hills Handicap System, with score cards submitted in the previous 3 months of the date of the competition.

2. Competition entrant holding two Handicaps: Members competing in a competition who hold both a Mission Hills and another handicap are required to declare the lower of the two handicaps upon registration for the competition. If this is not done and the member plays with the higher handicap, regrettably the member will be disqualifi ed as noted in the competition entry rules. 3. Manual Handicap Adjustment: In numerous instances we have witnessed a number of members who performed well below their handicaps in competition. In these cases, a member’s Handicap is revised manually and shall be effective for 6 months immediately after the competition and shall take precedence over any higher computer handicap. During this period, if the member’s computer handicap is lower, then the member shall use the lower handicap. There have been 16 members who have played well below their handicap and all have been manually adjusted to ensure fair play. The manual adjustment is based on the schedule attached.

4. “Wrong Handicap declared”: We would like to thank those members who have come forward to report a competitor playing with an incorrect handicap. We as a committee are only able to disqualify a competitor if there is proof of an incorrect handicap being declared. If members are aware that a competitor has competed with the incorrect handicap, it is important that the Handicap and Competition committee are notified immediately so that the matter can be dealt with. We need to rely on you, our members to help us regulate those who do not observe the rules. Any complaint from a member is handled with the utmost confidentiality.

If you as a member have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us via the appropriate channels we are keen to ensure fair play for all.

我們謹代表差點委員會及賽事委員會感謝全體會員及時提交記分卡，確保了差點的準確性及有效性。我們球會的二個委員會自去年成立以來，首要任務就是為所有的會員提供一個公平有序的競賽環境，從而鼓勵更多的會員球友一同參與比賽，一展所長。為此，我們規定並執行了如下政策：

1. 有效的差點：為了避免有些參賽選手只靠一天的好運氣取得比賽勝利，賽事委員會提出了一項新規定，即所有參賽會員報名時需提供一個最新且有效的差點，該差點需取自觀瀾湖差點系統，且更新日期為比賽日期前三個月內。

2. 參賽選手持有兩個差點：會員如同時持有觀瀾湖球會差點及其他協會的差點時，需在報名表上宣稱自己較低的一個差點。如果會員以較高的差點參賽，根據比賽規則，該會員的參賽資格將被取消。

3. 調整差點：在很多的實例中，我們見證了許多會員選手在比賽中發揮了優於他所宣稱的水準。針對此種情況，比賽結束後，我們將根據球員的比賽成績對他的差點進行相應的調整，調整後的差點將取代系統中的高差點，有效期為六個月。在此期間，如果系統中的差點低於調整後差點，則以低差點為準。目前已有16位會員在比賽中發揮突出，我們已對這些會員的差點進行了調整從而確保比賽的公平。調整明細詳見附件。

4. 宣稱了錯誤的差點：我們很感激那些能報告宣稱了錯誤差點的參賽會員。作為委員會的成員，如有證據證明參賽選手宣稱了錯誤的差點，我們有權力取消他們的參賽資格。如果其他參賽會員發現某個球手持錯誤的差點參加比賽，請及時告知差點或賽事委員會，以便委員會能立即採取行動。委員會的工作開展有賴於我們所有會員的支持與幫助，任何一個會員的投訴及處理都是絕對保密的。如您有任何疑問，請您通過合適的渠道聯繫我們，我們的宗旨是：為全體會員營造公平的競賽環境。祝打球愉快！

Dear Members, We wish to inform all our Valued Members that with effect from 1 January 2010, Mission Hills

will implement a Handicap Revision Table as shown below. This Handicap Revision Table shall apply to any member who returns an under par net score in any club sanctioned competition.

A member’s Revised Handicap shall be effective for 6 months immediately after the competition and shall take precedence over any higher computer handicap printout. During this period, if the member’s computer handicap printout is lower, then the member shall use the lower handicap. Thank you!
