Lisbon (Portuguese: Lisboa), is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Portugal. Its location in the south-central Atlantic coast of Portugal, north city of Sintra Mountains, south of the Tagus river estuary, it is one of the oldest cities in Western Europe.
Age of Discovery, many navigators are departing from Lisbon to the different parts of the world for exploration, since it has become the Portuguese colonial empire wealthy political and business center.
Lisbon downtown mostly built on hills. Most street on the slope, so the alias "seven hills of the city." The streetcar and cable car walking up and down the ramp in Lisbon become the characteristic signs. Eduardo VII Park The Eduardo VII Park (Parque Eduardo VII) is a public park in Lisbon.[1] The park occupies an area of 26 hectares to the north of the Avenida da Liberdade and the Marquess of Pombal Square, in the centre of the city.
Its name pays homage to Edward VII of the United Kingdom who visited Portugal in 1902, to strengthen the relations between the two countries. Until that visit, its name was Liberty Park (Parque da Liberdade).1902
On the northern top of the park is a flagpole were the present largest Flag of Portugal of the world is usually flown.

Lisbon Aqueduct The guas Livres Aqueduct is a historic aqueduct in the city of Lisbon. Aqueduct arches (65 m tall) across the Alcantara valley. It was built in 18th century by the King John V. The main course of the aqueduct covers 18 km, but the whole network of canals extends through nearly 58 km. (guas Livres Aqueduct) 65181858

Belem Tower (Torre de Belm) is a fortified tower located on the bank of Tagus River in Lisbon. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (along with the nearby Jernimos Monastery) because of the significant role it played in the Portuguese maritime discoveries age. The tower was commissioned by King John II to be part of a defence system at the mouth of the Tagus river and a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. ()Belem Tower(Torre de Belm)
Belem Tower is Lisbon's icon and a symbol of the Age of Discovery.
The tower was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 and included in the registry of the Seven Wonders of Portugal in 2007.

Discoveries Monument was built on the north bank of the Tagus River in 1960 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Prince Henry the Navigator.

The pavement in front of the monument is decorated with a mosaic that was offered by the South African government in 1960, representing a compass with the map of the world charting the routes taken by the Portuguese explorers.
