Magazine CoverDescription:Design a magazine cover using the correct use of alignment, typography, and color schemes. Must be a picture of yourself and have a good sense of flow and use of the FOCUS principles.

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles):

I first started with a sketch of four different scenar-ios to see what layout I liked for my project. I then sketched my layout on the computer as a shape map. Afterward, I was able to find a previous picture that was taken of me with a white background and I chose it for my cover. From there, I created my magazine cover on InDesign.

DESCRIPTIONCreate an instructional presentation using the Prezi software to demonstrate it’s features and capabilities.

PROCESS (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles)

1. I sketched out my idea on paper. I wanted to make sure to find a “happy” background photo that fit the theme of my presentation.2. I then found my images that I used for my presentation on a royalty free website that Sis-ter Nugent suggested to us. I was so amazed at how many beautiful options they had!3. Next, I went to Prezi and basically laid everything out on there. I tweaked with some phrases to make them flow better and I added other images to go with the different slides.4. I tried not to make my transitions too crazy so it would be easy and enjoyable to read.

Prezi Presentaion

PROCESS (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles)1. For my project, I had an idea of what I wanted to create. I

wanted to do something related to fashion, so I decided to put together a neutral outfit, and to get a bright colored shoe as a contrasting focal point. I then got my tripod, DSLR cam-era, and remote, and I took this photo of myself.

2. I enhanced the vibrance levels of this picture to intensify the colors. I knew that I would need to make a statement that had to do with being “bold.” I added some sharpness to the image as well, particularly on my shoes.

3. I then took it into Photoshop and started creating this design.4. I added the two fonts and I purposely made the “to be a little”

in a smaller, and a more hand written font, while making the word “BOLD” bigger, and a coral color to match the color of my shoes. I also put a transparent rectangle behind the black text to make it easier to read, and to give it more of a pop.

5. I then exported this picture as a jpeg.

Photo Design

PROCESS (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles)1. I wanted to create this assignment around a non-cliche LDS mes-

sage. I thought about Joseph Smith and how much he had done for the church and I knew I wanted to create my montage around him.

2. I first sough to find an image of him in the sacred grove. I was so-excited when I found one of him with the light shining as well.

3. I then wanted to find a modern, current picture that represented the church and how grown it is now because of Joseph Smith. So I included a picture of the Salt Lake Temple.

4. I put both images into Photoshop and I created a layer mask of the temple image and decreased the opacity, and I placed it at the source of the light in the sacred grove. I also used a paint brush to soften the edges.

5. I found a quote from John Taylor and included it in the image about how much contribution Joseph Smith has made in the church.

Montage

PROCESS (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles)I first sketched out some ideas of how I wanted my logo to look like on both the letterhead and the business cards.I then opened Illustrator, and started playing around to figure out what I liked best.I came up with the navy and yellow color scheme and decided to stick with it.I then used the paintbrush and I wrote out the name of the brand “Lulu Lemon” and I used the same design in the letterhead and on one side of the business card. I touched it up with the direct selec-tion tool as well.I played around with the opacity of both colors to create a more interesting look for the letterhead.I made sure to follow all of the rules of this assignment.

Business Identity

Process:

I first sketched out some different ideas for how I wanted the layout of my infographic would be.I then narrowed it down to one idea.I then went into Illustrator and started de-signing the different shapes to make them look like a smoothie, and different fruits.I then created a pie chart with the apple to show some statistics. Then I finished up my project with other in-formation about Jamba Juice.

Infographic

Process

First I went into my previous project to retrieve my Lulu Lemon Logo I created.I then converted it into a png file.I then opened up the HTML file in the Wrangler Text Program and began work-ing on my HTML code.I converted the CSS file into the HTML file and started designing my file with different fonts, colors, and sizes.

HTML & CSS

PROCESS (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles)

I drew out some sketches of what I wanted my design to be.I then went into photoshop and start rearranging my design to see which one I liked best.I then took Lulu Lemon (a company I have used for my past few projects) and I created a mock up web page design of some basic things you would see on a workout clothing website.I then found some royalty photos on the internet and I used them in my design.

Web Mockup

PROCESS (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles)1. I first created my logo in Illustrator.2. I took a piece of paper and I folded into the layout I wanted my brochure to look like. I then went into InDesign and start-ed to design my brochure. I wrote my body copy up as well.3. I opened up the images I wanted to use in Photoshop and I started making layer masks so I could select just a portion of the image. I then dragged it over into my InDesign file.4.I then aligned everything and added all of my body copy in.5. I then printed my brochure on color paper.

I decided to correct my Web Page Mockup De-sign. I wanted to edit this because I didn’t like how it looked and I wanted to make it a little cleaner. After revising and tweaking it in In-Design, I was satisfied to create a much cleaner layout. This took me over an hour to complete this correction.

I also decided to do some corrections on my Business Identity Project. I real-ly didn’t like how I originally designed this logo or the letterhead so I wanted to completely redesign it. I also wanted to add a watermark to the letterhead. I was really happy how it turned out. This took me overall an hour to complete.
