 DNEVNI PREGLED

RAZLIKE U TRETMANU

Demonstracije protiv ratne i hege- monisti~ke politike NATO-a i SAD,

DIFFERENT TREATMENTS

Several hundred of Chinese citizens, living

and working in Belgrade, finished their

protest march from the burned Chinese

embassy building, through streets of New

Belgrade, to the Republic square. "Was it

really a mistake?" read the banner that they

carried. Targets worn by the protesters on

their hats and bodies symbolically indicated

that not only Belgrade and FR Yugoslavia are

targeted by NATO and USA, but that the

whole world is in danger.

Protests against war and the hegemonic poli-

cy pursued by NATO and USA started

throughout China on Saturday, May 8th and

continued through the whole night and the

following day. Several hundreds of thousands

of people took part in the protests led by the

Chinese students. the US embassy

spokesman in China accused Chinese police

of inadequate security of the American con-

sulate in Changdoo which was set ablaze,

and inappropriate protection of the American

consulate officials. Considering the American

"treatment" of the Chinese embassy in

Belgrade, the US diplomatic and consular

offices and their officials in China were far

more fortunate.
