The Bell Telephone 1
Cheap and instantaneous communication by Telephone
in connection with the Magnetto calls.
The telephone has now attained such simplicity and
cheapness, as to render it univei sally available for public,
private, social or business communication.
No battery required, no skill necessary, only the voice
of ordinary conversation required.
It conveys the quality of the voice so that the tone of
the person speaking can be recognized at the other end of
the line.
It enables the manufactures to talk with his FactorySuperintendent, the Physician with hispatients. It es
tablishes instantaneous communication between the main ',
and the branch office, the home and the store or office, the
Country residence and the stable, or any part of the
grouftds, and in fact between any twopoints miles apart.
The noise of machinery, or the rattling of heavy carts
over stone pavements does not in the least interfere with
perfect communication.
To see Telephones and Magnetto calls in operation,
call at the Rooms of Phonographic Institute, in Titus
Building.
All are invited to a free test of its practicability.
Telephones and Magnetto calls furnished. Lines put
up on short notice, and in the most substantial manner,
at the lowest living rates.

No. I Small Gothic, small or large roman type, with stand allcomplete1
$125 00.
No. 2 upper and lower case ; writes capital and small letters, figures, &c.
$150 00.
No professional or business man can afford to be without one.
The saving in paper and postage alone soon pays for the machine.
No intelligent father who can afford it, and who consults the welfare
of his children, will fail to provide one for their use.
$125.00 expended in that way will do more towards making a familyof children good spellers, readers and correspondents, in a given time,
than three times that sum expended in any other way.
Copying Department, Room No. 2.
LAW PAPERS, LETTERS, LECTURES, EXAMINA
TION PAPERS, THESES, Etc.,
neatly and accurately transcribed on the perfected Type-Writer, in any
color or with anv style of type. No more than 3 cts. per hundred words
charged in any case, unless copy is very bad and difficult to read.

ifold process, only 2 cents per folio will be charged. These rates are
cheaper than you can do your own copying without the aid of a Type-
Writer.

A first-class Law Stenographer will be furnished to attend and report References,Surrogate Proceedings, &c, at $5.00 per day. No charge for stationery or expenses,
except when required to attend out of the city, in which case actual expenses, will be
