The  IB  Diploma  was  taken  by  25  candidates  who  achieved  outstanding  success  this  year.    In  2010,  one  of  our  girls  achieved  the  perfect  score  of  45  points,  in  2011  two  girls  achieved  this  and  this  year,  2012,  we  were  delighted  that  again  two  girls  gained  the  maximum  score,  a  standard  attained  by  less  than  1%  of  students  worldwide.   The  IB  Diploma  involves  studying  six  subjects  over  two  years,  three  of  these  subjects  at  Higher  Level  and  three  at  Standard  Level.    Each  subject  is  worth  seven  points  and  there  are  up  to  three  additional  core  points  available  for  the  combined  marks  of  the  Extended  Essay  and  the  Theory  of  Knowledge. The  average  diploma  score  for  our  school  this  year  was  39.5  points.    Fourteen  girls  scored  39  points  or  more  with  thirteen  of  these  scoring  over  40  points.    In  the  Extended  Essay  and  Theory  of  Knowledge,  21  girls  achieved  at  least  2  core  points  and  21  of  the  Extended  Essays  were  graded  A  or  B.
