DESCRIPTION

Should HEIs make registration “compulsory” as a proof of quality? (Or at least recognise the importance and value) This could include formation of career structure and link to performance review. How can HEIs tackle the issue of Teaching/Learning facilitating and proof of quality? How can HEIs recognise technician support in independent studies/project work as part of CPD? Can HEaTED help to persuade my Management/Institution that a course is necessary? (and therefore provide support)? How can HEaTED influence the management structures and approaches in our Discussion Topics A

Event Programme

• Sharing resources: Is it possible for technical staff to arrange to share labs, equipment and technical expertise?

• Collaborative schemes/projects across institutions: can we use the HEaTED network to create a "bottom up" approach?

• Troubleshooting/Sharing technical problems and solutions: Technicians can be very much more in touch with each other now through the regional and national networks. The online groups discussion for example can be an excellent way to do this.

• Sharing supplier/procurement information. Could we set up a joint list? or just simply have a question and answer set up on the Online Group?
