Christmas-Navidad-Pasko 2019 Dear Sisters and Brothers in Faith, My sincerest prayer is that you experience a most blessed, holy, and peaceful Christmas. Jesus, our Lord and Christ, has been born unto us! The Word of God is many, not one. “Peace, Joy, Mercy, Justice, Love, Patience…..”, these are just a few that have become flesh in Baby Jesus. Welcome him. Celebrate him. Share him with the world. Be like the Angels in heaven, the shepherds in the field, and the Magi- let the world know that our Savior is with us. Our journey towards this day began with our Blessed Mother and her spouse, St. Joseph. We allowed them to be our model and guide during Advent as we trekked together for the first time as a new parish to meet them in Bethlehem. We remembered how they trusted in God’s plan for them and how they, without fear, let themselves be led by the Holy Spirit to where God wanted them to be. During this Christmas Season and into the New Year, may we be like Mary and Joseph- fearless and not afraid as we discover how to be the best of witnesses to Jesus as a new, yet un-named parish. We forever honor and remember how we were Christ to one another within the parish communities of Holy Family and Notre Dame de Chicago. This Christmas, we have the first of many opportunities to share the gift of Jesus beyond Roosevelt Road and Taylor Street. St. Joseph and our Virgin Mother brought their child Jesus to the entire world. Like the holy family, we will pray that this sacred season will broaden and expand both our vision and embrace, so that all whom we meet and serve will know the happy truth of Jesus. On behalf of the entire staff, Deacon Dave Keane, and all the ministers of Holy Family/Notre Dame de Chicago, “Merry Christmas” . With my housemates-Bishop Casey, Fr. Kevin Hays, and Fr. Mike Knotek- and my Jesuit friends who so generously celebrate Sunday Mass with us-Frs. Tho, Paul, Glen, and Brian- may we wish you a peaceful, healthy, and blessed New Year. Lastly, allow me to express my gratitude and thanks for welcoming me to our parish. I am honored and humbled to be your parish priest and pastor. Peace. Fr. Peter

Kevin Hays, at Fr. Kapayapaan. Fr. Peter McQuinn
