This Agri-Touristic Centre, is located in Selvanizza di Palanzano, in Parma. It’s the reconsideration ofan industrial cave in the reunion of two rivers, that ruines the natural landscape. The Project consistsin agricultural farms, a slow food restaurant in the northern side, short term staying rooms at the eastern edgeand a SPA in the southern part. It’s a good occasion to re-build the touristic image of this place because its values have been mostly forgotten and they needed to be used by its people.

The area at our disposal was nearly of 6000 mq.

The elementary geometrical shape used in this Project, as a division in many parts is the Triangle separating different rooms and sections inside buildingsand also the green area in different cultivations, fountains or flowers and grass types.

Building the maquette at the same time of the project creation helped us to understandthe relationship between the triangular elements of our open space, which were points for green plants and water, and the walking parkours. These elements had various heightsaccording to the correspondant function.

REVALUATION OF STONE CAVES - Botticino - Bergamo.Group Members: Inci Lize Ogun - Role -> Sketches/Sections/concept Beatrice Precorvi Daniela Idda

These Stone Caves in Botticino (Bergamo), are some of the most famous caves in Italy as qualityof extraction and post-production, but somehow a big part of them are not utilized anymore, or they will not be utilized in some years. The mayor of Botticino opened architecture competitionsasking architects to revaluate the abandoned caves with some fix willings such as; a theatre, an info point for tourist and a parkour as connection between them. So our professors asked us to work on the same project in occasion of this real problem.

Most of these caves are still active thought, so we had to think smart in order to use abandoned caves at the same timewith active ones. In our project important and positive aspects were the landscape and the altimeter curves that were naturallyadapt for an open air theatre.

Genova is one of the most important industrial harbour cities in Italy. In front of its harbour, with a congested naval view,is located the so called “Genova Flyover”, whichwas a very important road for connection, and todayhas been abandoned.

Here came an opportunity to us to reconsider this flyover, characterizing it with functions and new ground designingall around it, so that it could become part of urban netand its inhabitants’ interest again.

Our project consists is the western part of the flyover, since all the laboratory had its different parts to be studiedwhile divided in groups.

We opted to maintain its connectional function, with a tramway service, and to design the ground and the terraces totally respectful to the environment keeping it green.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL CHANNEL - Portello (MI)

This Underground Channel, in Gattamelata Street,is located in the northern part of Milan precisely in the middle of Portello Green Park,a recently built polyfunctionalconference centre and a residencial area. Some years ago its construction was initiated as to connect the Old Fair Zone to the Centre of Milan. This project hasn’t been continued, so here is an occasion to re-interpretatethe ambient and give it back to the City.

In this zone Milan is developed with a thick and rigid urban scheme which doesn’t permit any permeability between the different areas.

Our projectual inspiration is the human body with its veins and cells. The veins are the connection among the different functional areas which are located as cells.

Such as the oxygen in the human body, the two “tubes” in the channel create and carry the energy.

The creation of energy is is realized through sensors positioned on the walking-floor. The more people move on the left tube-ground the more there is electricity in the whole channel

17IDEAL DWELLING - Ueno - Tokyo Light and Shadows

“What is an ideal dwelling?”

Questioning ourselves -in this 1st semester’s group work of the master degree- about our everyday life and stiff undeniable needings, we came out with this small house offering big possibilities to the two of us, working together.

At the beginning of the design, besides the assignment of the site which is the neighbourhood of the Ueno station in Tokyo and so a unique narrow plot, a relevant freedom was given to us as for its height and typology.

This way the only, but also hard, challenge was that one of creating any kind of form and trying to obtain any kind of element (such as in our case -> LIGHT) from a narrow shaped house.

This attitude is of informal architecture, transforming into flexible all the rigid rules and prejudgements.

Group Members: Inci Lize Ogun - Role -> Renderings - Maquette - Concept Marcus Svedlund

18Our aim was a smooth feeling of the interior life, with silence and simplicity, obtained with the protagonism of the light. In order to reach this as result, we made several light studies with concept models. All we needed were perforated cardboards, a torch and a camera.

20GOOD SILOS - Nyhamn - Malmo - (Swe)Urban Palimpsest

Silos are supposed to be big-tall self-contained storage towers, and they have no clear ‘belonging’ feeling to the city, as part of the landscape, since they’re mostly familiar to the ones who are employed in the industrial sector.

This affermation above, though, is true if the situation is considered formally.

Although in this individual project, as to experiment new boundariesI wanted to challenge the common wisdom and recollect inside the silos, some of the socially connecting activities such as a beer brewery, a public laundry and a co-working space.

If we dislike the silos commonly, then we can re-like them working together in their mental reconstruction with constructive activities that require our creativity.

On the right above: Project area’s immage before the intervention. Towards the edge the silos are visible. On the right below: After the intervention when the abandoned rail tracks are used again as part of the place, since there is a meaning of the silos again, with the help of the external deck and the ramp added with the new design.

24Parasitic ArchitectureBungee Jumping Platform

In the second semester of the master degree, we reached the step to a mandatory collaboration with civil engineering students, in order to explore the new structural designs - coming out with the relationship between art and mechanical rules.

A brief and quick project process brought us to create a small parasite platformattached to a canyon rock wall through a big archwith steel beams.

The beams are supporting only the roof. Although it is completely integrated as a same element together with the pavement.

This “hanging” effect is supposed to be a false structure. The arch is appearently holding the platform but actually the forces are split in two.
